Part one – Thicker than water

"S-Sam-my?"

"Dean? Dude, it's me."

"...d-demons...f-four...guh...g-gotta w-watch out for 'em...kicked their asses...I did..."

"I know you did. Let me cut the ropes off..."

"...h-h-head hurts...got hit from b-behind..."

Sam flinched as he lifted his brother up. Broken bones shifted with the sudden, slow movement; Dean closed his eyes against the pain. His blood-slicked skin was cool to the touch. There was a slightly bluish tint around his lips.

"Dean?"

No answer.

"Dean!"

"H-huh?"

"Stay with me," Sam whispered fiercely. "You're not dying on me, y'hear? You're not."

" 'kay. 'm not."
