This was a oneshot, but due to the Darkdesire, it had a chapter baby. :)

"I thought you were watching me over dinner," Hermione said, walking down the hallway, near the mistletoe.

"You noticed that?" Draco asked with a smile. "Well, I was trying to watch the Brat-Who-Survived for my dear liege lord and master, but you're quite a distraction, you know."

He gently stroked her cheek, and the touch was electrifying.

"Anyway, let's forget about him. We've a lot of other things to discuss."

"Yes," Hermione agreed, pushing his hand off her face. "The war."

"That too," he admitted. "But I was thinking about us."

Hermione colored again. "Well, I couldn't help thinking about us, too," she confessed. "But we really should be thinking about…"

"Yes," Draco agreed. He leaned forward and kissed her lips again, pulling her back under the mistletoe. "But as I already said, you're quite the distraction."

"So are you," she said in a soft voice. Her body felt electrified, her senses heightened, her head giddy. She threw her arms around him and dragged him close for another kiss.

It was like fire raging in her bloodstream, and she had no idea how long it lasted.

All she felt was his hands stroking her hair and back, and stopped thinking after that.

It was a while before he reluctantly broke away. Hermione gasped fitfully as she gazed at him.

"I think we'd better take a break for breathing," Draco suggested. "I hear it's good for the constitution."

A pair of footsteps echoed down the hall.

"I have got to stay to see Hermione. She can't do everything herself," said the drifting voice of Ginny as she and Harry walked down the hallway towards them.

"Besides," she added with a grin, "Until she and Draco get married, she's going to need a chaperone. I wouldn't trust her with that aristocrat for a second otherwise."

Hermione grinned at Ginny from under the mistletoe as she wriggled out of Draco's protective hold. "You've got a filthy mind."

"True," Ginny agreed, smiling at Harry, "And if you're thinking even half of what I'm thinking, you ought to be ashamed of yourself."
