Ariadne stared off unmoving into the distance, no particular focus on anything. Her mouth was slightly slack, just enough for her lips to part. She glanced down at her hands, unmoving and lying atop her jeans of her crossed legs. She closed her eyes and tried to remember. How did she get here? The kick maybe? That meant she was awake, her totem told her she was awake, but she didn't feel it. It was scaring her, the not knowing, the uncertainty she was feeling. She opened her eyes with a small, haggard breath to find Dom on the floor with her, in front of her. Her eyes met his and she could see the worry in them.
"Aria, are you alright?" He asked her, his brows furrowed and his eyes quickly scanning her over.
Her mouth closed and then opened again slightly, but she can't speak. She settled for shaking her head.
"You're awake," he said firmly.
She watched him scoot closer to her and rise up onto his knees. He leaned forward, and placed his palm to cradle her face. She tilts her face up and she sees his eyes, his face, but it wasn't enough. Lifting up her arms, she gently grabbed his face and pulled it to hers. There was a hesitation on her part, just as she pulled him in. He must of have noticed it; he closed the distance and his lips brushed her own.
With new found confidence, or maybe just the want of more, she pressed back more firmly. Her lips moved against his with fervor because her life depended on this, his mouth on hers. Her hands left his face, inched into his hair, searching to feel what was real. He let out a low noise when she pressed her tongue against his lips and then over his own. Ariadne could feel him struggle to keep his hands just around her shoulder and in her hair. She finally pulled back, catching her breath and she could feel him do the same as his breath danced across her lips.
She slowly opened her eyes, her heart racing. It was the moment of truth, the one that would tell her all she needed to know. Her eyes opened and her vision was filled with Dom's eyes and his eyes alone. They were blue, as they always were but there was more than that. They held a love and want for her she couldn't replicate in a Shade or in a dream, a look he could only give her.
She was awake, now she knew for certain.
"I love you," she whispered with a light smile.
"I love you too," he whispered back.
And just as a precaution, he kissed her again.
