JTLs Code Lyoko Distortions
Episode 84: AI
Author James the Lesser
I do not own the characters (Except OCs) Moonscape does
I reread through this series, my favorite after Code Naia, and just love it. The ending especially. I usually/always wrote a happy ending except for this one. Yes Xana was defeated but there was no more Aelita, Bosh, Sanne/Maya, Odd and Ulrich hated each other, Yumi was in Japan again, so different. The ending happened as it did, this is just a spin off not a continuation of that series. Well, here it is... I am writing this on the fly, no real plans like I normally do. If some thing changes then uh, blame it on the time loop/distortion.
Kadic Academy
Jeremie is on his laptop with Ash. "Are you sure? I mean, if you are an AI and we bring you to Earth you might not live."
"If I am or not the program we found says I should appear in the middle Scanner."
Jeremie taps a finger on the arm of the chair. He was conflicted on what to do.
So far the Xana program had attacked twice. Each time Ulrich and Odd went and helped Ash get to the Tower.
Why Jeremie felt the need to keep the Super Computer on, talk with Ash, he wasn't sure.
He had been drawn to this factory for years and now felt like he found why. Now he had an even bigger question. Why was he drawn to Ash?
He had never known she existed. He had never felt the need to talk with someone or be friends with them. No one made him feel like this.
Not even Ulrich or Milly.
So why was Ash so special?
Every time they talked he felt a connection he hadn't ever felt before.
And now they discussed bringing Ash to Earth.
"I can try. We can try. I'll call the others and see if they want to be there to greet you."
Ash smiles brightly. "I can wait."
Jeremie decides instead of calling to just walk down to Ulrich and Odd's room.
He knocks on the door and hears Ulrich. "Hey," Jeremie opens the door. "Remember how I mentioned that program to bring Ash to Earth?"
"Yeah, and how dangerous it could be for her."
"Well, she wants to come to Earth. If this works, when it works, maybe she isn't an AI. It shouldn't be possible to bring something like an AI to Earth."
Ulrich raises an eyebrow. "Like sending someone to a virtual world shouldn't be possible?"
Jeremie looks away. "Well, yes." He fixes his glasses. "I want to invite you and Odd to be there." Jeremie looks over at Odd's bed. "Where is he?"
"With Sissi, I think." Jeremie is silent so Ulrich continues. "Do you really want Odd there? If Ash is a, well, a girl, Odd doesn't have the best track record with girls."
Jeremie sighs. "I'm not worried about Odd."
"You're worried about something."
Jeremie laughs nervously. "If she is an AI, when we bring her to Earth, she may not survive."
Ulrich's eyes go wide. "We could end up killing her?"
"Maybe. I don't know. She wants to come to Earth and I can't tell her no."
Ulrich smiles a little. "Because you like her. Which will be weird if she is an AI."
Jeremie shrugs his shoulders. "I've had weird dreams."
"I don't want to hear about that."
Jeremie shakes his head. "No, not like that. Of a girl, like Ash, but different. Her hair was all pink, so was her outfit. She was so much like Ash but different. She was on Lyoko but on Earth too. I've noticed there is a program that might affect time."
Ulrich is confused. "And?"
"And I think, maybe, we've used it."
"We have?"
"Well, other versions of us. If this is true then we may have gone back in time, gone forward, countless times."
Ulrich takes a few seconds to digest this. "How would we know? And what would that do to, like, the timeline? Are we in the right timeline?"
"No idea, no idea, and no idea. We can test the one program after we bring Ash to Earth and see if it works." Jeremie turns towards the door. "Want to follow me over?"
Ulrich gets off of his bed. "Sure. Especially since Xana might attack."
"Don't say that."
Factory
Jeremie sits in the computer chair as Ash appears on the screen. "Hello! Am I coming to Earth?"
"Yes." Jeremie looks up at the screen. "I hope."
"I do as well! I trust you."
Ulrich leans against the wall and taps his foot nervously.
This was all over his level of understanding. It had all been over his head since the very start.
Why he let Jeremie drag him in to this he wasn't sure. Why Ulrich didn't just shut down the computer after the first, second, or third attack he wasn't sure. Something kept him from doing it. Something he couldn't explain.
Jeremie pulls away from the control panel and turns to Ulrich. "Uh, want to go down to the Scanner Room with me?"
"I guess, sure." They walk towards the elevator when Ash appears back on the screen.
"Xana's activated a," She disappearrs.
Jeremie is unsure what to do until he hears a shout from the Scanner Room. "She's here!"
He hits the button for the elevator and the doors close before the elevator moves down to the Scanner Room.
Jeremie rushes to the middle Scanner where Ash stood, leaning against the side for support. "Ash! You made it."
"Yes, but Xana, was activating, a Tower." She is sort of breath as she tries to get used to the act of breathing for the first time.
Jeremie hugs her before pulling away. "I'll call Odd and send you and Ulrich right now."
Ulrich puts a hand on Jeremie's shoulder. "Why? Can't we just shut off the stupid computer now?"
Jeremie pauses as he thinks. "I, I guess." He closes his eyes and almost falls to his knees as images flash through his mind.
They were like memories but different. He never lived through them, knew them, but somehow he had and did.
He saw the girl very much like Ash collapse after turning the Super Computer off.
He saw months of work at the control panel trying to remove a virus from the girl.
He witnessed attack after attack with Ulrich and Odd fighting alongside others he didn't recognize right away.
A new girl, one that looked like the girl, like Ash, and he swore a bit like him, talking about Xana attacking the world.
Suddenly a flash of a new person, a boy, with blue hair with similarities to Ash appears.
"Jeremie!"
His eyes snap open and he looks up to see Ulrich holding him.
Ash leans forward. "What was what?"
"I had, visions, memories, of something that hasn't happened, yet. Of people who I've never met."
Ulrich continues holding him up. "Do you think it has anything to do with that time travel thing you told me about?"
"Maybe. I'm not sure." Jeremie looks at Ash with a million questions running through his mind. "We need to, well, wait, no."
Ulrich is confused. "Huh?"
"I was going to say we should shut down the Super Computer but we don't have any place to put you, yet, and I'm not sure but I don't think it is a good idea."
"Then we must deactivate the Tower." Ash steps back inside of the middle Scanner.
Jeremie moves away from Ulrich. "I'll be fine, get in a Scanner, I'll send you both now and hope Odd makes it."
Ulrich steps inside of the left Scanner as Jeremie walks back to the elevator.
When Ulrich and Ash land on Lyoko they look and see the activated Tower is near. "Wow, Jeremie, we're close."
Jeremie looks up at the map. "Xana didn't have that much of a barrier up. Run."
Ash and Ulrich start to run when four Wasps start firing lasers at them.
Ulrich pulls his sword out and blocks the lasers. "Ash, get to the Tower!" Two of the Wasps split off and chase after Ash.
Ash looks over her shoulder and sees them. "I can do this." She stops running in a straight line and zig zags across Lyoko.
Ulrich runs towards a rock, runs up a couple of meters, before leaping and slashing through a Wasp destroying it.
Ash feels a laser hit them but they ignore it as best they can.
Ulrich blocks laser after laser from the second Wasp. It stays too far away from him to attack. "If I had a long range attack that would be great."
"You don't." Jeremie watches Ash take another laser hit and her life points drop down to sixty. "Ash, be careful!"
"I'm trying!" Ash leaps over a rock and slides a little when she lands.
A Wasp flies closer and tries to grab her.
Ash fights it off, damaging a wing, causing the Wasp to fall to the Sector.
The other Wasp fires lasers and hits Ash again.
"Ash, you're down to forty points!"
"Ha!" Ulrich slashes through the Wasp. "Go Ash!"
Ash scrambles for the activated Tower getting inside before Xana can send any more monsters.
She places her hand on the panel and the screens fall around her. "Tower deactivated."
Jeremie leans back in his chair with relief when he hears the elevator start up. "Odd just made it."
Ulrich looks at the Tower as Ash leaves it. "Too little, too late."
Jeremie brings Ulrich back to Earth but not Ash.
Odd gets to the Scanner Room and sees Ulrich. "Aw man, are you done already?"
Ulrich smirks. "Yes."
"Damn."
Ulrich looks up. "So, is Ash coming to Earth or what?"
Jeremie waits for Ash to appear in a screen. "Ash, would you like to come back? You won't be able to stay for a few days but once I have your paperwork in order we should be able to keep you at Kadic Academy."
"I would very much like to come to Earth again."
Jeremie nods as his fingers fly over the keyboard and soon Ash is back on Earth.
A/N I'm not sure what I'm doing with this. I reread Season 0, and then 2, and forgot I had kinda restarted 2... So now a new episode put up years and years later.
I have been focusing more on original works but... I get 20-50 pages done, get distracted, and can't finish them and always end up back at Fan Fiction. Especially since I still have my Daria College Pains, never finished countless others. Bah, need to win the lottery so I can quit work and just focus on writing forever and ever.
