Author's note: I saw the movie for the second time the other night and I came out thinking that it would be adorable if Eames and Saito had a friendship ^_^

Eames opened the door to the pouring rain. Saito was standing on the steps under an umbrella. Eames beckoned him in and soon water was shooting everywhere in the warehouse as he shook his umbrella out and closed it.

"Good to see you, Saito old chap," Eames said with a smile and a pat on the shoulder. "What brings you back to Paris?"

"Just to catch up with the gang I guess," he said. Eames lead him to the room where they had once planned out inception.

"Where is everyone else?" Saito asked. Just then they came across Arthur and Ariadne, asleep.

"Sleeping, as usual," Eames said, making a low grumble. "I wonder what they're doing in there. I offered to be their adult chaperone, but they turned me down."

Saito side glanced at him, but didn't say a word. Finally he put his hand on his shoulder. "Want to go out for lunch?"

"Can we leave them?" Eames asked, kicking Arthur's foot playfully.

"Sure. We'll talk to them later. No need to interrupt their sleep," Saito began to lead him away.

"Hold on just a minute," Eames went to a table and started looking for a pad of paper, making a mess as he did so. He smiled and held up the pad. "Don't want them to worry if they wake up before we're back."

Saito looked on as Eames wrote a note saying he was going to lunch with Saito. He ripped off the post-it note and stuck it on Arthur's forehead. Both of them snickered.

"No way he'll miss that," Eames said, giggling.

Saito opened his umbrella again and the two of them headed outside into the rain, huddled under one umbrella.

They stopped at a French restaurant and chatted. It hadn't been too long since the inception job, but there was plenty to catch up on. Saito especially loved to listen to Eames's funny narratives.

"Arthur really let me have it then," Eames was saying when they're lunch arrived. "He was so angry."

"Only you, Eames," Saito said. "Only you would try to trick Arthur with a dream."

"I was only trying to have some fun," Eames said, pouting. "That's not bad every once in a while. Arthur's just a stick in the mud."

Saito looked at Eames thoughtfully. "I'm rather surprised that Arthur agreed to be on a team with you again."

"Well," Eames shrugged. "Ariadne was the one who wanted it. And where Ariadne goes, he goes."

Saito smiled. "But you're still going after him?"

Eames smiled and let out a laugh. "Arthur," he said in a seductive yet playful voice. "How can I not? Where he goes, I go apparently."

"Are you sure?" Saito said, a little concern in his voice.

"Oh, don't worry about me," Eames said, shaking his head. "You know me, I like to misbehave. Arthur makes it especially fun. I like to push his buttons. But deep down, I'm not attached. I'll be okay."

Saito wasn't exactly convinced, but he let it slide. They began to eat their food and Satio listened as Eames told more humorous stories.

Arthur opened his eyes when the timer went off. Instead of seeing the ceiling of the warehouse, he saw that something was obstructing his vision. Ariadne woke up and noticed the post-it note. She tried not to giggle. Arthur ripped it off and read it.

Darling,

Going out to lunch with Saito. We would have invited you (and Ariadne) but you looked so peaceful in your sleep. Don't get me wrong, I would not hesitate to kick you out of it, but Saito was against the idea.

Eames

P.S. I hope you two weren't doing anything naughty while we were away.

Arthur crumpled the note in his hand and threw it across the warehouse. Ariadne smirked. "The trashcan is over there, Arthur."
