This is not my best work, but it was two o'clock in the morning and I was listening to Art Garfunkel's Bright Eyes over and over. It was bound to lead to some awful plot bunny (Pun not intended.) Kit and Dewey are my favourite couple ever and I think this is a fitting tribute for them.

Destined To Be Together

Weightless, breathless and lifeless, Kit continued to fly higher and higher through the fluffy white clouds. She didn't know where she was going or why. All she knew was that she was going. Suddenly, she came to a dark place. It was just pitch black with no walls. It was endless blackness and nothing else. The sensation of falling forward never faded and Kit was overcome with a happiness she had never felt before. Gradually, unearthly whispering filled the place, and one by one, pure white lights appeared, rippling like water. They were like fire but they weren't burning.

Kit felt strange, strange but blissfully content. The lights surrounded her and the whispering grew louder. They, like Kit, were the ones who had lost their way on the journey. They were Kit's kindred spirits, even though she never met any of them. They welcomed her into this unusual but beautiful new world. The lights danced a wonderful dance, summoning the light that was the one Kit thought she would never see again.

The two white flowing, otherworldly lights circled each other, trying to distinguish who each of them were. It made the most beautiful pattern. The vibe surging from this other light made Kit sure who it was. This was him. This was the man who saved her life more than once. This was the man she was supposed to marry in June. If she had had her body, Kit would have burst into tears of joy as she galloped forward to give Dewey Denouement a tight, loving embrace. The lights rested side by side as they watched over their daughter. They were together, just as their destinies had promised.
