A/N: This got me ten points of extra credit in English class once. You can shoot me if you want. Lewis Carroll is probably rolling in his grave as we speak. I also kind of apologize if you know/remember just what the Bruin Idol was.

Disclaimer: I'm just going to pretend that I've never seen this before in my life, okay?

The Butterfly

Twas spotted and the minty mints,

Did freshen and clean in the mouth.

All springy were the toadstools,

And the crazy fangirls singing.

-

"Beware the Butterfly, my son!

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

Beware the paper bird, and shun

The Bruin Idol!"

-

He took his twiggy sword in hand:

Long time the lumpy foe he sought-

So rested he by the hungry tree,

And stood a while in thought.

-

As in apocalyptic thought he stood,

The Butterfly, with eyes of flame,

Came flying through the insulted wood,

And yodeling as it came.

-

One, two! One, two! And through and through

The twiggy blade went crack.

He left it dead and with its head

He went hopping back.

-

"Has thou slain the Butterfly?

Come to my arms, my drunken boy!

O smoky day! Aaugh! Ack!"

He died in his joy.

-

Twas spotted and the minty mints,

Did freshen and clean in the mouth.

All springy were the toadstools,

And the crazy fangirls singing.
