So here it is- it has been some time coming, but here is my new story. So, on to the regular stuff

Title: Under Your Skin

Summary: An alien object has an interesting effect on Ianto and Gwen, causing them to see the world from each other's perspective. Note: will not be your usual bodyswap story, I like to put a bit of angst in my stories and it wont be a quiet ride for either of them.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters or the show. They are all the brain child of Mr Davies and I'm only playing with his toys because I'm too poor to have my own toys.

The stars above Cardiff shone brightly in the cloudless sky of a typical Saturday night. Below them, the night life of the young and alcohol fuelled residents of the city was in full swing; pubs were full of half dressed women bribing drinks from inebriated men, kebab shops full to bursting with orders for chips soaking in every variation of sauce ever concocted and, just behind an abandoned and repossessed shop, a young man was propelled into the air before colliding with a sickening thud against the outside wall.

'Ianto!' Jack screamed, wrestling the attacker to the ground. He knew he should have kept his eyes locked on their target, but the sound Ianto's body made against the brick wall had twisted a knot deep in Jack's stomach. He craned his neck and saw Ianto's crumpled form lying on the ground, his bright blue eyes locked away behind his eyelids. He was unconscious, he had to be. Jack couldn't allow himself to think about the alternative, not so soon after losing Tosh and Owen. It had been two month since the attack on Cardiff by his brother and the indentations of the blasts were still apparent around the city. So much had happened since, not just in Torchwood but between Jack and Ianto's relationship. Jack had almost completely moved in to Ianto's place now, evident by the array of Jack's clothes scattered everywhere, something which didn't impress Ianto very much. But he was getting there; slowly and surely, Jack was once again becoming settled in an environment he didn't think he would find himself in again.

That's why Ianto had to be unconscious.

A knee to his stomach shifted all thoughts and breath from his body as the figure below him gained the advantage and flipped himself on top of the Captain. Jack kept the groan of pain tightly in his throat, blinking rapidly to regain his position and situation. He finally caught a glimpse of their target, looking deep into its large red eyes. If it wasn't for those eyes and the decorative pattern which had been burnt deeply into the man's forehead, he would have passed as your average Joe. So it was fair to assume that this was the thing the Rift alert had picked up on and had sent Jack and Ianto bounding out of the Hub, Ianto questioning whether to call Gwen in or not. In the end, they had decided to go it alone, something which Ianto would no doubt regret when he regained consciousness.

'You're curse will be our blessing,' the alien croaked as he quickly removed something from his pocket. Jack tried to move from underneath his attacker, but his arms were pinned to his sides underneath the strong and towering figure sat on top of him. All he could do was watch as a small box, no bigger than a ring case, came into view and began to glow before the sound of a gunshot rippled out through the empty street. The alien screeched loudly in pain as the bullet burrowed deep into his shoulder. It fell from Jack and hit the ground in pain, allowing Jack to look up at the dishevelled and dirty suit clad figure as it stepped forward.

'You're paying for the suit,' Ianto said simply, his gun cooling in his hand as the alien continued to cry out in pain. He took a quick glance down his sleeve and tutted at the ripped material which had been shredded when he had been thrown against the wall. It wasn't long before he saw the rotting food clinging from the rest of his suit and that only irritated him further. 'Great,' he sighed as he looked down at Jack, trying not to smile at the amazed and slightly startled look spreading out across his partner's face. He held out his hand and pulled Jack to his feet. 'Really, sir. Lying down on the job is just not an option.' Jack was just about to reply when a deathly scream erupted behind them, the alien now up on its feet and with a gun held tightly in its hand.

'Your curse will be mine, Jack Harkness,' the creature screamed as he began to squeeze the trigger, but it got no further as Jack whipped out his revolver, took aim and shot the alien right between the eyes. The two men watched as the figure slumped to the ground, the box it had held tightly in its grip now fell from its hand and hit the ground before it's owner did. Silence loomed over them before Ianto cleared his throat and took a quick side glance at Jack.

'If you tell me it's another ex, you're definitely sleeping at the Hub tonight.' Ianto moved closer to the alien, hoping a shot to the head was enough to keep this guy down completely. He was joined by Jack who knelt down by the head of the alien, examining the burn mark which had nearly been completely destroyed by his gunshot. Maybe it hadn't been a good idea to take it down with that particular shot.

'Just because some being from another planet came through the Rift and attacked us, why do you automatically assume I've slept with them?' Jack looked up into Ianto's eyes and sighed when he saw Ianto slightly squirm under the gaze. He knew Ianto had only meant it as a joke, but he could see the underlying hint of jealous that always seemed to flare up when Jack mentioned past lovers. As Ianto straightened himself, he pulled out a Torchwood bag and headed for the small box.

'Don't touch it,' Jack interrupted as Ianto looked up at him. 'It was glowing when he took it out of his pocket. It might not be a good idea to just go touching it.' He pulled a pair of large tweezers from the inside of his jacket and carefully picked up the item, dropping it into the bag Ianto held open for him. Sealing the bag, Ianto slipped the bag into his pocket before helping Jack with the body. Thankfully, the SUV was parked just around the corner and the two men hoisted the body into the boot.

'What do you think he meant?' Ianto asked as he buckled himself into the passenger's seat, watching Jack as he settled himself behind the wheel. 'You know, about your curse.' He watched as Jack's face clouded over for a few seconds, his eyes losing focus for just a second before he shook his head and gave Ianto one of his signature grins.

'Guess we'll never find out now,' Jack simply said and started the engine of the SUV, pulling the vehicle out of the street and into the night.

As the sound of the engine grew fainter, a figure moved from out of the street and walked slowly towards the pool of blood slowly ebbing into the gutter. Its fingers dipped lightly into the blood before it brought them to its lips as it tasted its partner. It had seen the whole thing; it watched how their prize had killed its partner and had taken away their only chance to obtain their objective. The blood on its lips boiled as it emitted a howling scream into the night sky, swearing vengeance on the two men who had killed its partner.
