A/N: Okay, so I'm going to try my hand at a songfic. I have HSM sing it, and when I sing "Getcha Head in the Game" I think about this. So if you hate High School Musical, whatever, don't read this. But I am going to write whatever I want, so don't try and stop me.
Anyway, this is when Eddy-poo goes hunting, but he refuses to admit to himself he luvs her. It's Emmett, him and Carlisle. Edward's POV.
We approached the forest edge.
"Dude, I sooo need this hunting trip." Emmett was smiling wickedly at me. "And by the looks of it, so do you." I rolled my eyes at him.
"Boys, here's the plan." Carlisle spoke up.
Coach said to fake right
And break left
Watch out for the pick
And keep an eye on defense
Gotta run the give and go
And take the ball to the hole
But don't be afraid
To shoot the outside "J"
"So, we fake right, then break left, after it, and please watch the trees this time Emmett!" Emmett rolled his eyes.
"That was one time." He grumbled.
"Well, just run it, but don't be afraid to go at it from the side, okay?" We nodded.
Just keep ya head in the game
Just keep ya head in the game
And don't be afraid
To shoot the outside "J"
Just keep ya head in the game
U gotta
Get'cha get'cha head in the game
We gotta
Get our, get our, get our, get our head in the game
"Edward!" Carlisle's fingers snapped in front of my face. "Keep your head in the game, okay?" He looked at me protectivly. "That human...she's not one of us. Stop dreaming." I nodded stiffly. How could one little human be distracting me so much? I sighed, heading off into the foliage. I instantly caught a scent. Turning, I dashed after it. It was a simple deer, but that would do for now. I wondered if Bella would be afraid of me seeing me now? I cut the thought off with a grimace, lunging at it. I missed. Curse that girl.
Let's make sure
That we get the rebound
'Cause when we get it
Then the crowd will go wild
A second chance
Gotta grab it and go
Maybe this time
We'll hit the right notes
I listened, determend to get that same deer I missed. I heard it galloping away. I would get it this time. I caught up, tackling it with all my might. It fell to the ground, struggling. I felt venom flood my mouth, preparing for the kill. I was about to bite it, when an errant thought crossed my mind. Would Bella love a monster?
Wait a minute
It's not the time or place
Wait a minute
Get my head in the game
Wait a minute
Get my head in the game
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
I gotta
Get my, get my head in the game
You gotta
Get'cha, get'cha, get'cha, get'cha head in the game
I growled. The deer was still moving. Why was I hesitating? I had to keep my head in this game... a human wasn't for me. I bit down on the deers neck, drinking deeply. But instead of relief at the delicious liquid now coursing down my throught, I felt angry at myself.
Why am I feeling so wrong
My head's in the game
But my heart's in the song
She makes this feel so right
Should I go for it?
Better shake this, yikes!
I shoved the carcass angerly aside, wiping my mouth on my sleeve. This was hopless. I searched around for another deer, but I wasn't thirsty for once. The thought of blood made my stomach turn.
I gotta
Get my, get my head in the game
You gotta
Get'cha, get'cha, get'cha, get'cha head in the game
All I could see in my mind was her face. I sighed. I guess I had to admit it: I had fallen in love.
