A/N : It's just Kaname himself. Based at the time when the Vampire Council was hunting for Zero after accusing him of Shizuka Hiou's murder.

"Would you all do me a favour?"

They appeared slowly, ethereal forms solidifying from thin air, their elemental forms swirling around physical bodies visible only to the eyes of vampires. Akatsuki Kain, the tallest, shadowed by a serpentine flame; Hanabusa Aido, brining with ice and wind; Senri Shiki, crimson threads of blood dancing around his fingertips; Ruka Souen; Ichijou; Rima; each member of the night class, crackling with anticipation, formed a barrier of nobles around Zero.

And in the middle, needing no subtle display of power to distinguish him from the rest, a tall, dark haired youth; almost docile amidst the riled aristocrats – and yet, it was to him that all eyes looked to.

Each vampire beyond the barrier of night class students fell to the ground, prostrating themselves –

"Kuran Kaname sama!"

And the youth, eyes downcast in a seeming modesty, replied with such gentleness that one, an "elder", a respected vampire, dared to question him for rebelling against the council's authority.

"Disappear."

There was nothing gentle, nothing passive, nothing forgiving in his manner. Each syllable wove its way through their minds, the command harsh, and unyielding.

The fools fled, like the dogs they were, with tails between their legs and heads hanging.
