Chapter 12

"May and Drew!"

The contest hall darkened as storm clouds rolled in. Rain began to pour, drenching most of the audience.

"Petal dance!" Two offstage voices called simultaneously. From opposites sides of the stage, Roselia and Ivysaur appeared. Roselia begin to spin, releasing pink rose petals towards center stage just as Ivysaur opened the flower on its back and wiggled its petals quickly, shooting out larger pink petals. The petals crashed into each other and the raindrops, creating a beautiful pink mist.

"Sunny day!" May called. Both pokémon stopped petal dance and Ivysaur began to glow orange. The rain stopped and the sky cleared as the pink mist settled to the ground, remaining on the floor of the stage. The sun shone brightly into the hall, causing the mist to glitter and casting pink sparkles on the walls and audience.

"Roselia, Solarbeam!" Drew called. Roselia held it's roses together towards the bright sun. A golden ball of solar energy began to gather.

"Ivysaur, vine whip!" May called. Ivysaur ran to the middle of the stage and began to alternatively slap and sweep at the ground with its vines, causing the pink dust to rise back into the air. Roselia finished gathering it's Solarbeam and swept its roses out wide as the attack was released, causing a wide beam trail to hit the dust, incinerating the tiny particles into oblivion, resulting in a bright flash. The light faded, and May and Drew stood center stage, bowing to the audience. Ivysaur stood beside May, and Roselia beside Drew.

I know this is super short, but it's just a little teaser of chapter 12. More to come, hopefully soon, but I know better than to make promises... However, I really wanted to post something today (2018, May 8th) because it's the 10th anniversary of starting to post this story! I know, it's been ages. Also to let you know I am still around, just been slow to make real progress. I think it's been about four years since the last update? Geez…I'm so sorry…

However, I've been gradually been getting back into fanfiction over the last couple years and have finally started writing again, so I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. Personal life has also somewhat stabilized since then, so I'm on a better schedule these days to make the attempt again. Fingers crossed that all goes well and this story actually reaches it's ending long before the 20th anniversary!
