Buttons

"Moony, you're missing something."

Remus looks up from his novel, holding the page with a gloved hand. Even though it's a chilly, breezy Autumn day, he and Sirius had decided to spend the afternoon outside.

"What?"

Sirius points at Remus's overcoat. "You're missing a button."

Frowning, he tilts his head down and shifts his striped scarf to get a better look at the column of black, shiny buttons. But none of them seem to be out of place. He raises a brow in confusion.

"Sirius, none of them are mi-"

But flicking his head back up, he sees Sirius's face in a blur, ready to meet him. And his words are cut off with a short, soft kiss. Remus feels his face tinge light pink, and not from the cold. They depart a second later and Sirius grins.

"Just thought I'd let you know."
