Disclaimer: I own nothing of Pokemon.

A/N: We've all done this—force upon a weak Pokemon moves it will never forget. I admit I do it a lot, especially in the jewel games, where Zigzagoon/Linoone can learn four HM moves. This came about when my Zigzagoon actually tried to learn a new move, but it wasn't possible to squeeze it in. I wrote this a little differently than usual, just because of the character.

ForgetfulSlave

Trainer always thought the best of me; I know it. I was his second Pokemon, his loyal Zigzagoon, the one who would fetch him berries and battle by his side. But what did he used to call me? I can't remember now.

Well, anyways, he used to use me in battle. But that was until we reached a town, and Trainer was given this… thing to use. It was a machine, that's all I know. And he used it on me; I remember… after that, I learned how to cut. My claws became sharper, strong enough to shred small shrubs standing in our path.

Somehow, Trainer managed to use me less and less often. I noticed that. I also spent less time outside my ball. Less, and less…

We reached the town that holds the third badge one day. I… can't remember how we got there, but we did. There Trainer received another one of those machines. He used it on me again, and I learned… how to smash rocks. My forepaws became thicker. I was stronger. But Trainer didn't see that. He kept me in my ball more than ever.

I'd only known this new move for a while, before the next machine came along. We got it after I smashed a rock. It really wasn't a big deal. This time, the machine… was for moving boulders. I didn't think I could do it. But I learned it… I could move boulders. I gained weight, muscle mass. Trainer's Gardevoir wasn't as strong as me! Even though she still looked down her nose at me…

I stopped battling after that. My belly constantly rumbled with hunger, I needed to run around my ball for exercise. After what seemed like ages, Trainer showed me his fifth badge. He and Vibrava had won it, he said. And then, he pulled out a fourth machine. It taught me how to support Trainer's weight over water. I was happy—because this made Trainer happy.

After that, though, Trainer wasn't happy. Not with me, at least. He loved Flygon, and Gardevoir, and Camerupt—but not me. That's why I haven't seen sunlight in days. That's why I'm still in my Pokeball.

But wait—I feel my ball rocking. And… and… he let me out! Trainer let me—out? Into a battle? Wow!

The boy crossed his arms and grinned as his Zigzagoon looked around like a dazed Pidgey. "Stupid thing." He muttered; when the shaggy raccoon finally turned and noticed the Sealeo sitting near, ready to fire an aurora beam. "I'm just glad Flygon didn't have to take that hit…"
