It all started a few months ago, they'd been sitting in English class listening to Mr O yammer on about Romeo and Juliet, when Ms Li ushered in a very apprehensive looking young woman. She had small round 'Lennon' glasses on and long auburn hair pulled back in a ponytail.
"Class this is Monica Miller, and she's new to Laaaawndale High. Please make her feel welcome."
As the short administrator walked out, the girl moved toward the only empty desk in the room, beside Trent, and in front of Jesse.
Just as she sat down, a grating voice piped up,"Hey 'Moanica' I'll make you moan."
That had been followed by raunchy laughter, and a sudden *thwack* noise and stunned silence.
Jesse had broken Tommy Sherman's nose and had gotten a week's suspension. Trent had never been prouder of his friend. Ms Li had gone NUTS over that, after all it was only a week before play-offs. Mr O completely failed to tell her about Tommy's smart-assed comments to the new girl, and for that they'd soaped his car, but good.
Monique, as she said she preferred to be called, followed Jesse and Trent back to Casa Lane after the incident, and had thanked Jesse with a hug, and eventually a kiss on the cheek. From then on the two of them were nearly inseparable (bar his week of suspension)
It had really irked Trent at first, losing his friend to some girl, then he'd began to notice things, how her hair seemed to glow like fire in the sunlight, the way her eyes flashed when she was angry, how tough she was, and yet how gracefully she moved. Suddenly he wasn't mad cause she was taking his time with Jesse... he wanted time alone with HER.
This sucked, it really did. She's so pretty and special, and she's with Jesse. If she'd been with almost any other person on the planet he'd have taken a shot and asked her out... but she was Jesse's Girl.
