A Well-Rested Evening
Fred Weasley opened the door to the loft he shared with his twin brother George. He'd just gotten back from Bristol and was ready to get to work. He hoped George had been scheming up new ideas for their latest line of products. But then again, if he knew his brother, George had probably just slept the weekend away.
Fred had the ambition that George sometimes lacked. But then again, he could have a total nancy-boy like Percy for his twin. Then he'd really never have any fun.
"'Oy, George! I'm ready for some fun! Get yar' bleedin' arse outta bed. You know what they say, No bloody rest for the wicked! Merlin knows, then we'd never sleep."
Fred rounded the corner and froze. George wasn't sleeping. His head was bent and he was whispering in a petite woman's ear. Apparently, George had found some bloody ambition to do something. George turned his head to see Fred standing in the doorway, his bag flung over his shoulder. George grinned at his brother.
He rose quickly and help the female up from the love seat. She was a beauty. She smiled at him and extended her hand. His eyes went to George. George still had that stupid grin plastered to his face.
"Fred, meet Fred."
"Hi, Fred."
"Sorry, didn't catch your name."
"It's Fred."
"I know my name, what's yours?"
"My name is Fred."
"Oh . . . "
"This is my brother." George went on.
"Well, duh. I mean, y'all are identical twins. I might have been in Pylea for five years and treated like an animal, but even I can see the similarities." She laughed.
"Well, that was fun. Who are you?"
"Fred Burkle, head of Practical Science Department of Wolfram & Hart. It's an evil law firm that Angel's tryin' to turn to the side of good.."
"George?"
"She tends to do that, but I happen to think it's cute." He wrapped his arm around her shoulder as she blushed slightly.
"How exactly did you meet her?" Fred hissed at George. The other Fred was setting the table as he helped George finish making dinner.
"Someone sent her friends the Whistling Dixies, and she thought we were evil bad-asses, so she marched here to save the day and we met and she seemed really nice, and I gave her our catalog and she came back and we clicked and -"
"And she started rubbing off on you."
George grinned at his brother's words.
"I meant her rambling, George."
"I know what you meant, Fred."
"She's a little scary."
"Brilliant."
"But scary."
Fred popped her head in the doorway.
"Hey, y'all ready to eat, 'cause I'm starving." George gave him that goofy grin again.
He should have known his brother would fall for a girl that was as out there as the infamous Weasley twins. Well, she made George happy, and that's what mattered.
