The Shadow's Fall

once I was a shadow, a dream not meant to be

all because your crimson eyes simply could not see

I drowned inside the darkness, so vast it was a sea…

yet somehow in those sightless eyes you looked, then rescued me…

I had been alone so many years I was afraid to dream, the girl, the love, the angel was truly meant for me.

yet as I looked upon your face my world was brought to light.

and as you somehow gave me strength, my words were given flight.

kept so long in shadow, hidden from the light.

the darkest secret dreamed within, was spoken… and felt so right…

you looked at me with tender smile, then whispered that you knew.

then you uttered softly that now our shadow love was through…

now I stand with years behind, remembering what had been..

I see a boy afraid to speak, and a girl afraid to see.

and as they shared their secret... their hearts were truly free

once I was a shadow, afraid of what might be..

yet now as I look back on life, our love was destiny….
