AN: Okay, guys, so apparently, I messed up because my European mind completely forgot that Americans attend colleges and don't just go to university as we do after high school (thanks for letting me know). So, I packed my nineteen-year-old Jamie's bags and sent him to Harvard Law right away. So, can someone help me to figure this confusion out? Is there something like pre-law college he could be visiting? Any advice is highly appreciated. Anyway, let's carry on with the story...

"Morning dad, morning pops," Jamie mumbled sleepily as he walked into their kitchen on Saturday morning. It was early, but he and Joe have made plans, so he better be ready by the time his older brother would get there.

"Morning, son," his father, who was reading his newspapers as he did every single morning, replied.

"Morning, Jamie," gramps greeted him. "Sit down, I made you some decent breakfast." The former commissioner told his grandson.

"Thanks, gramps," Jamie mumbled as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

"I wonder what they feed you with at that Ivy League school of yours, but you are as thin as stick," Henry complained.

"I'm pretty much within the norm, gramps," Jamie protested.

Henry just laughed sarcastically. "You barely have any muscles."

"Whatever," his grandson mumbled as he took a seat next to his dad.

"So, what have you and Joe planned for today?" Frank wanted to know as he carefully folded the newspapers, ready to go to work. He hated it when he had to work on Saturday, especially when Jamie was home for vacation.

"We are going for a bike trip," Jamie replied as he was about to take a sip from his cup. He has always been close to Joe and he loved spending time with his older brother. Not that he wasn't close to Erin and Danny. Well, he wasn't really close to Danny, that was the truth because Danny has always teased him for being the youngest of the family and Erin mother-henned him eversince their mother has passed away. But with Joe he could be…well, he could be himself. Like with his dad.

"That sounds like a good plan," his dad agreed. "By the way, Jamie, I'm really sorry that I have to go to work today, but I promise I will be all yours tomorrow. We can go fishing if you want…," the commissioner suggested.

"That sounds great, dad," Jamie uttered, giving his dad a kind smile. He didn't want his dad to feel guilty, especially not after what he has been through ever since their mum got sick. He knew his father blamed himself for taking the job, but at the same time, they all knew the NYPD needed him. And therefore, Jamie promised himself that in no case he will ever make his dad feel guilty about his work.

"Alright, I have to go now, but I will see you later. Be safe on your bike trip and wear a helmet! Or I will fine you myself!" Frank mocked his son. Jamie may have been a nineteen-year-old student, but in Frank's eyes, he still was that little boy with his skinned knees who ran to his father to find comfort in his loving arms after he fell off his bike.

"I will!" Jamie promised. Frank couldn't help it and he gave his son a loving smile.

"Goodbye, pops!" He then told his father as he was about to take his leave.

"Bye, Francis!" The former commissioner called after his son.

"It's a beautiful day," Joe mentioned as he and Jamie were passing runners on one of those cycling paths New York was full of. It was a sunny day, a bit chilly, but otherwise the weather was perfect.

"Yeah, it is," Jamie agreed. He was getting a little bit tired for he and Joe have been on the road for a good three hours and he felt rather warm. "Do you think we could stop for a while? I'm a little bit out of breath." Jamie asked his brother. He wasn't much of a biker, but Joe liked to ride a bike and therefore Jamie just went with it.

"Alright, but let's keep going for a bit, I know the perfect spot where we can take a break. It's just around the corner. In fact, let's see who's gonna be there first." Joe suggested teasing his younger brother as he started to speed up.

"Hey, that's not fair," Jamie cried out. He definitely didn't want to stay behind and therefore he too increased his speed. The race was equal and at one moment it even looked Jamie could get in front of his brother, but then Joe started paddling even harder and it was in this moment when Jamie's bike touched his brother's and the boy came inevitably to the ground. Of course, the young man wore a helmet as his father urged him. There was nothing that could happen to him besides a broken arm or leg and therefore neither he nor Joe worried too much when he came to the ground.

"Hey, you alright, Jay?" His brother wanted to know when he came back to the place where Jamie fell from his bike. "That was quite a fall you just took."

"Yeah, I'm," Jamie replied. He was a little bit out of breath, but nothing serious. He got up from the ground and started dusting his trousers when suddenly he got interrupted by Joe.

"Kid, you're bleeding!" His brother cried out once he saw Jamie's groin area was quickly turning red.

Jamie looked down at his legs and saw his trousers were turning red. "Yeah, I think you are right," he recognized his brother's words.

It was strange because he didn't feel anything, but he was clearly bleeding.

"Oh shit!" Joe shouted suddenly once he quickly inspected Jamie's legs. "Kid, you need to lie on the ground immediately, I think you have punctured an artery!" The young police officer told his brother.

"What?" Jamie asked confused. How could he puncture an artery when he didn't remember feeling anything? That just didn't make any sense.

"Kid, I'm not kidding! You need to lay down immediately! You can bleed to death!" Joe insisted knowing how serious this was.

Joe's words have scared the crap out of Jamie, but he did as his brother told him. After all, Joe has worked for the NYPD, and he had training in first aid, unlike Jamie.

"Alright, Jay, I'm gonna put my finger into that hole, and hopefully it will stop the bleeding," Joe announced to his younger brother as he was going through his plan with Jamie.

"Joe, I'm scared," the younger man admitted. He could feel he was getting light-headed and he wasn't feeling overall well and he knew it was hardly good.

"Jay, it might hurt as I put my finger in your leg, but it's our best shot if we want to keep you from bleeding out," Joe explained as he took Jamie's cheek into his free hand.

"Alright," Jamie mumbled, but before he could finish, he got interrupted by a sharp pain as Joe pierced his finger in his artery. "Jesus Christ!" The young man cried as his eyes filled with tears. He was scared, and he wanted his dad.

"Sorry, kid, but I had to do that." Joe apologized as he ran his hand through Jamie's now dusted hair.

"Joe, you need to call dad," the boy cried.

"I will call dad, Jamie, I promise, but first we need to call you some help." His brother announced to him as he pulled a cellphone out of his backpack. "Just hang in there kid!"
