Usually a law student in America would go to college/university for a standard 4 years, then decide they want to go for at least 3 more years for a total of 7 years to earn more degrees in certain areas of law.

There are no pre-law colleges in the U.S.. In the U.S. you go from high school to college. When you graduate from college you goto law school. College is usually from the ages of 17 or 18 to 20 or 21. Law school is for the three years after college. In the U.S. you don't even need take political science classes to get into law school. You can be a biology major, art major or anything else and just need the right GPA and a good LSAT schore.

Hi! Love your stories! So in America most students start college at the age of 17 or 18. Then they tend to graduate between 21 or 22. So right now if Jamie would be either a sophomore or junior. He could possible doing a study abroad in Europe. Maybe a summer pre-law program. -Kristin
