Chapter 2: A Terrible Time for this Pervert'

Part 1

"Hey Chris, do you really think just wearing casual clothes will help me not be recognized?"

"Of course, no one would ever pay too much attention to a man in such common clothes."

Right now, me and Chris were strolling around the village that's nearby to my castle, Stile.

Stile is known for being the village closest towards the Demon King's territory and-

"I'm starving, Chris let's go to that cafe over there and eat."

"You just want to see all the pretty girls in maid costumes, don't you Kazuma-kun?"

-their maid cafes.

Maid cafes were a popular place in Japan, but I'm not sure how they were able to gain relevancy in this world.

Probably the work of fellow reincarnates.

"Why do you want to see other maids anyway? You already have me."

"Maids at these cafes usually have a variety of personalities I like, be it tsunderes, little sisters, big sisters… You're somewhat lacking in any defined character traits."

"It's been a while since I've used my dagger, I wonder if it's dull. Let me try it out on you real quick."

"I apologize, I apologize, please take your dagger off my throat."

Me and Chris were here to buy her some new panties after… someone lost her one and only pair.

Don't ask why she only has one pair; It's a goddess thing.

I'll ask Aqua about this later…

"Hey do you only have one pair of clothes too? Besides your maid outfit, I only ever see you wearing that too."

Chris was wearing a revealing set of clothes fitting for an adventurer.

"I-Is that a bad thing? Does my appearance matter that much? I don't go out that much, so what's the need for so many clothes?"

You don't have to be so humble.

"Hey! Let's go here."

Chris stopped in front of some fancy looking clothing store for women.

There was a bountiful amount of expensive looking dresses, skirts, leggings, and other womenly products.

"Kazuma-kun, give me some regs and stay out here, if we go in together people will assume we're a couple."

There went her humbleness.

Oh yeah, regs is the name of the currency in this world.

Regs is short for Regina. Regina is the goddess of manipulation and revenge; She's also the main religion of this world.

Don't ask me why they made such an evil sounding goddess the main religion.

"That's exactly why I'm going in with you"

"Remember my dagger?"

"Yes ma'am I'll stay put."

I gave Chris some money and she walked inside the store while I stood outside near the entrance.

People walking by were staring intently at me as if I were creeping around this ladies store.

I felt really awkward so I decided to walk around town.

I found an interesting looking maid cafe and went inside.

I was greeted by a black haired beauty in a maid attire when I entered

"Oh, take a seat somewhere. It really doesn't matter where just get out of my face."

Sadist.

I nodded to myself as I took a seat.

I'm not a huge fan of the sadist, but I appreciate how real the experience felt.

It was a regular looking cafe, but it seems like I was the only one inside.

After a bit, a very young energetic maid with short brown hair approached my table.

"Hello Onii-chan! Have you decided on your order? I think you should get the omelete Onii-chan! It's super tasty and I get to draw something on it!"

I love this place.

"Yes, Onii-chan will take the omelet."

"Okaaaay~"

She skipped away while humming a song.

This is my kind of place…

I'll make sure to remember this place when I'm feeling depressed.

I noticed that the rest of the maids were congregating at a certain table.

They were whispering among themselves and seem to be stealing glances at me.

Did I do something strange?

I noticed the little girl over there too.

Her energetic face turned into one of astonishment as she made eye contact with me.

…

After a bit she came back out with an omelet..

Her face was completely devoid of emotion.

…

What did I do?

She placed the omlet silently on the table in front of me and walked away.

I started eating my omlet while thinking of what I could have possibly done.

I then read the ketchup message on my omelet.

I spat out my food.

"We appreciate you coming here even though you have a busy life, Demon King-san~!"

I placed a handful of regs on the table and quickly left the cafe.

Part 2

I started walking back to the store Chris entered.

Everyone I walked passed was staring at me intently.

That's it.

When I was outside the store earlier they weren't staring at me because I was in front of a ladies clothing store, they were staring at me because I'm the Demon King.

I need to get out of here.

"Chris!"

I found Chris walking down the street with a bag in hand.

"There you are Kazuma-kun; I finished shopping."

"G-Good, I hope you found some fancy and beautiful panties, so let's go back to the castle."

"I-It's doesn't matter if they're fancy… anyways we don't have to go now. You've never been to this town right? Let's take a stroll."

"No, really we should leave."

As we were bickering...

"Is that you, Demon King-san?"

A young boy behind Chris spoke out to me.

Chris' face turned pale.

I grabbed her hand and started walking in the opposite direction of the boy.

But a large group of people suddenly approached us.

"Look here comes Demon King-san!"

"Ah! Demon King-san is right there!"

"What is he doing here?"

This is really bad

"K-Kazuma-kun, you should start chanting teleport..."

"T-That will take too long! This way!"

I ran past the crowd with Chris in tow.

"He's getting away!"

Shit!

"Kazuma, I'm going to head down this alleyway up ahead! That should split up the crowd and give us both an opportunity to escape!"

"R-Right!"

I ran ahead of Chris while she ran towards the alleyway.

I turned around and…

"W-Why are they all chasing me still?!"

It didn't work!

Of course it didn't! Why would they chase down some random girl when the Demon King is in front of them!

What am I supposed to do?!

My stats are so low that eventually the crowd will catch up to me.

I don't know my way through town so I've just been running down random streets.

If they catch me are they going to turn me into the capital?

Should I go back to that maid cafe? They seemed to be fine with me.

"I got him!"

As I was thinking to myself, a woman grabbed onto my waist.

"N-No! L-Let go please! I'll g-give you anything!"

Being slowed down caused the crowd of people to catch up to me in no time and they surrounded me.

"Demon King-san is talking to me!"

A bunch of pretty ladies started grabbing on to me.

"No fair! I saw him first!"

"Ahhh~ Demon King-san is so handsome!"

Huh?

The rest of the crowd pulled the girls off me and all looked at me gleefully.

An older looking man reached out his hand and started speaking to me.

"It's great to see you Demon King-san! What brings you to Stile?"

Hah?

Part 3

"So everyone in the town actually loves you and they were just so ecstatic to see you in Stile?"

"That's basically it, yeah."

After being chased down I was treated with hospitality and kindness.

Chris met back up with me as I was chatting it up with everyone in town.

Apparently I'm like a celebrity to that town for some reason.

"Why would they like someone going for world domination?"

"They said world domination was the only next logical step to world peace."

"What?"

"I don't get it either."

Instead of teleporting back to the castle, we used a carriage that was being driven by one of my minions.

"I wonder how they were able to recognize me…"

"Well, it seems after the attack with Veldia, the capital was able to put up bounties with your face on the poster."

Huh? Today was my first day stepping out of the castle. How was my appearance exposed?

As I was pondering, We arrived at the castle.

I then remember why we even went to Stile in the first place

"Hey Chris, you said your panties were fancy right? Let me see them."

I tried to snatch the bag out of her hand, but she swiftly dodged out of the way.

"Well, I had fun with you today Kazuma-kun! I'll meet back up with you if you need me!"

Before I could use steal, a magic circle appeared below Chris and she disappeared out of thin air.

What a shame...

I headed inside and decided to go eat some lunch in the huge dining room of the castle.

When I entered, I saw someone inside the kitchen.

I walked inside and gave my order to the chef.

"I'll just have some fried frog legs."

"Huh? Kazuma?"

Instead of the main chef, it was Darkness inside.

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure the chef died in Veldia's rampage.

"What are you doing here? Making yourself some lunch?"

I could see that Darkness was making some type of sandwich on the counter.

"Ah, no I'm making some food for Aqua. She was complaining about how hungry she was so I decided to make her something."

"Oh? Where did this kind side of you come from? I thought you were just some crazy Masochist who only ever thought about perverted things."

"I-Is that how you see me? Do you think everything I do is just for my f-fetish?"

"Yeah of course; You're devoid of any real personality except for your masochism… Ow! Ow! Ow! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Stop! It's breaking!"

I screamed an apology as my temple was being crushed by her iron claw.

"I don't mind being scolded or insulted, but if you ever go too far, I'll kill you."

She spared me and walked out of the room with Aqua's sandwich.

Why is everyone I know so violent…

Part 4

For the past few days, nothing has really happened around the castle.

There's not much to do except to go outside and watch as Darkness instructs the construction team on rebuilding the castle.

I guess being a high ranking devil like Darkness can get you things like a construction team.

Also for some reason Aqua is on the construction team, even though I never told her to help with that.

I've spent most of my time going out with Megumin and going with her on her daily explosion.

"How many points was that explosion Kazuma?"

"The shockwave was rough and left me uncomfortable, along with that the sound was oddly unsatisfying, and the smoke looks weirdly like a risqué position of a man and a woman. Overall 69 points."

"Huh? Risqué position? What do you mean?"

"You'll understand when you're older."

After taking Megumin back to the castle, I had nothing left to do for the day so I decided to get Megumin's help for something important in my room.

"Which one do you think looks better? The elegant engravings on this black cape or the dark green cape with stripes of red."

"The green compliments your eyes and I think the combination with the red is cool."

I got her to help me in my quarters with my look.

"Do I look like the main villain of a story? Or perhaps, the final boss?"

"No you still look rather weak. You look like a shady guy who's about to spread his cape and flash me."

That was probably the most insulting thing I've ever heard.

Can I seriously not even look intimidating?

Megumin probably noticed my eyes draining of life and tried to cheer me up.

"W-Well, I think your name really goes well with, 'The Demon King Kazuma!'"

"I don't know if someone with a strange name complimenting mine is a good thing."

"If you have something to say about my name, say it."

Megumin's strange name is due to her coming from a village full of people with weird names.

I've heard that her village is a huge threat to us from Aqua, but they haven't seemed to try anything on us yet.

"Isn't being intimidating a big thing for a Demon King? How will I be able to strike fear into my enemies, or something like that?"

"Eh… I think being intimidating isn't your style. People from the Capital won't expect much from you, so their guard will be down; Being able to surprise the opponent gives us an advantage in the long run. You're powerful in your own way, so I don't think you should worry about it."

Megumin said something weirdly nice to me.

It seemed like she had more than just explosions racking around in her head.

"You're looking at me weird. You're not thinking of something perverted are you?"

"I've just realized that you're not just some chuuni loli with explosions in her head."

"All right, let's take this outside. I'm going to shove my boot up your-"

"Attention! Attention! Satou Kazuma-dono, you are needed at the main hall!"

We were interrupted by the announcement through the castle.

"Well I have to go Megumin, goodbye!"

"Hey! Get back here!"

I rushed out of my room and made my way downstairs.

When I arrived in the main hall, Darkness handed me a letter.

"It's addressed to you."

Do we have a mailbox or something?

The letter had 'Demon King-san' written neatly on the letter.

I feel like something terrible is going to come out of this.

I opened it up and read the contents to myself.

Dear Onii-chan, we appreciated your gracious tip at the cafe from the other day! We would like you to know that our cafe had become a hotspot for customers for the past couple of days! We even had a sign that said 'The Demon King's favorite cafe!'

…

Everyone would ask about the sign and would light up after hearing that you've been here! Well, one person got really angry and destroyed the sign with a scary looking axe and said, 'He's gone too far!' They then proceeded to destroy the entire cafe effortlessly, so could you please send us some money! (P.S. I think they mentioned going over to your castle to finish some undisclosed business.)

"Goddamnit!"

"K-Kazuma!"

I ripped up the letter in a fit of rage.

Part 5

I fell face first onto my bed.

I was surely going to have to deal with this problematic person in the near future.

This Demon King thing sucks….

Life could've been so much nicer if I was reincarnated as a normal person in this world.

I wouldn't have to worry about anything Demon King related.

I'll just get Chris to heal my soul.

"Chris, can you start the bath."

…

...huh?

No answer?

She's usually always alert at this time of night.

Popping in and invading my privacy.

Because of that I haven't had any time to-

...

...to do something.

"Chris!?"

No answer.

"Hey Chris, I found your lost pair of panties and I'm going to do various things to them!"

No answer!

It's time.

I deserve this, after all the stress and bullshit I've been going through!

I headed up the stairway to the top floor in the castle.

I was carrying a bucket of water with me.

I plan to prank Kazuma after he made fun of my name.

Crimson Demons never back down from a fight!

...Can I still say that after leaving the clan?

I arrived in front of Kazuma's room.

"Kazuma, can I talk to you for a second?"

I plan to just splash him with water when he opens the door.

...He didn't answer?

I knocked on the door and it opened up and gave me a clear view of his room.

Clothes were still sprawled all over the floor from Kazuma's little dress up party.

I noticed that the bathroom light was on.

He must be in there.

I pressed my ear up against the door.

fap fap fap

Is he… brushing his teeth or something?

I messed with the doorknob and confirmed it was unlocked.

Fufufu, I'll get the jump on him and scare the mana right out of him.

I opened the door and announced my entrance.

"Wahaha! It is the all powerful Megumin! Prepare for revenge for mocking my name!"

"Goodnight Megumin..."

"Goodnight Kazuma..."

I closed my door as Megumin left my room.

I walked over to my bed and sat down on it.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!"

I forgot to lock my bedroom door and the bathroom door!

What the hell is wrong with me!

"This is the wooooorst!"

This is the worst day of my life.

As I was contemplating on going full Demon King and killing myself, a bright magic circle appeared in my room.

And of course, Chris popped out of it.

"Hey Kazuma-kun! Sorry I'm a bit late. I was busy with fixing some problems senpai caused..."

Chris looked a bit drained.

"It's fine."

"Anyways, do you need anything? Want me to start your bath or make you some dinner."

"I'm going to sleep, I'm fine."

I crawled under the covers and pulled the blanket over my face

"Are you alright Kazuma-kun?"

"Yeah I'm just really tired; You can leave or whatever."

Chris gave me a smile and stretched.

"Ah, a night off! I can finally go to one of Megumin's girl's nights tonight! I hear they talk about some really interesting things!"

I'm glad Chris is happy-

What?

"G-Girl's night?"

Before I could stop her, she disappeared with a bright light.

Tomorrow will be a day full of hardships, shame, and possibly death.

Aqua-sama, please help me.
