Based off of the Webtoon Midnight Poppy Land. I plan to include all 4 of my favorite shippings (IS, PS, CS, ORS), but I'll be focusing on Ikari. Enjoy!~

Chapter 1

"Paul, you gotta help me, man." comes the voice over the phone. The tired purple haired man had been taking one of his many day naps when his phone rang. Being the top muscle for the ruthless Hayden Family, he always needs to answer the phone.

"No." Why is Ash calling him? He should be calling someone else who can actually order him to do something.

"Please, Paul! I'm hiding in a field near Buneary place!" Ash pants out as if he's been running. "They're trying to kill me!"

Inwardly groaning because Ash is also a top fighter like him, Paul hangs up. Ash is a big boy who can handle himself. As Paul tries to go back to sleep, Ash's last words get to him. They're trying to kill me. Stop, Paul. Just go to sleep. It's not your problem. It wasn't an order from any of the higher ups. Kill me. Paul! Kill.

Yelling out in frustration, Paul angrily sits up from his bed and puts on a shirt. Leave it to his conscience to get him. Once he finds that dumbass, Ash is gonna wish he died rather than call Paul.

Buneary Place

A bluenette dejected walks down the street from Buneary Place. She had just been rejected from yet another potential client who is seeking interior design help. He had wanted an affordable designer, so he chose the small company she works for. However, he didn't want to hire her. This has been happening a lot to Dawn.

Even though she went to a small college in her hometown of Twinleaf Town, she still graduated at the top of her interior design cohort. She managed to get a job in Veilstone City at a small company, but if she doesn't meet the sales goals, she may be let go soon. Being a small company, the manager, Zoey, is very personable and nice, but Dawn doesn't want to use Zoey's kindness to keep her job. Plus, her friend Kenny works there. He was the one who introduced her to the job. She owes it to the team to bring in sales.

Taking a deep breath, Dawn straightens up. "No need to worry!" she tells herself confidently. There are more clients and she will use this as a learning experience. Yes! Dawn Hikari Berlitz does not give up!

"Crunch!" Looking down at what she stepped on, Dawn sees a piece of paper. Buneary Place is on the outskirts of Veilstone City, so not many people are around. Did someone lose this? She then notices the trail of papers leading from the bushes. Being from a small safe town, Dawn walks over to grab the papers in case the owner needs help. However, when she picks one up with red splatters all over it, she instantly drops it with a loud gasp.

That can't be blood, right? Maybe someone spilled their drink on it? Like a Bloody Mary? Looking around the field, Dawn doesn't see anyone. She sighs as she puts the papers in her portfolio, but then, in the corner of her eyes, she sees it. A red and white hat, but the white part seems to have some wet blood on it.

Freaking out, Dawn drops all the papers, including hers in her portfolio. "No!" She exclaims. These papers are a part of a contract she has with her only client right now, so she can't just leave them here. Quickly grabbing as much of her papers as she can, she hears the bushes rustling. "Alright, Dawn. Good enough. Now run!" she mentally tells herself while stuffing the papers back in the portfolio.

Unfortunately for her, a tall scary purple haired man emerges from the bushes. The glare he has sends shivers down her back. He must be here to clean up the evidence for all this blood! Since he's stopped walking, Dawn quickly turns away from him and runs.

Paul blinks at the scene. Ash was running away from this tiny woman? Paul is really gonna beat his ass later. This is why Ash shouldn't try being a playboy. That's Drew's thing. Sighing as he enters the field, Paul notices all of the papers scattered around. "Stupid, Ash." mutters the man.

However, when Paul notices Ash's bloody hat, he freezes. Picking up the hat, Paul runs a hand through his long purple hair. Where is this dumbass? When he doesn't notice any other signs of Ash, Paul quickly picks up the papers. Maybe there are clues of his whereabouts?

One of the papers Paul picks up seems to make no sense. What are these writings, Ash? You're not smart enough for coded messages! Groaning, Paul grabs the rest of the papers when he notices some of them read Coordinators Interior Design while there's a Veilstone City address. These papers look nothing like the coded messages. Do they belong to that bluenette from earlier? Did she possibly grab some of Ash's papers?

"Damn it, Ash!" Paul angrily mutters to himself as he realizes he's always cleaning up people's messes. But that is his job as Hayden Family's top muscle. Even though he gets paid handsomely for it, Paul lives a simple life in his little 1-bedroom house far from the city.

Seeing as how there's nothing else to grab from the field, Paul makes his way back to his car where he calls Ash. The phone rings a few times before going to voicemail. Muttering some more curse words to himself, Paul calls again only to have the phone ring once before voicemail. When he calls a third time, it goes straight to voicemail, almost like someone had shut off the phone. Clicking his tongue, Paul starts his car and drives off back to his place.

Although he doesn't look like it, Paul is pretty worried. Ash is the next best fighter after him, and seeing all this blood on Ash's hat doesn't look too good. Wherever that guy is, Paul hopes he's okay.

There are few people in the Hayden Family who Paul trusts, and even then, he doesn't fully trust them. That's what happens when you're in a gang. Maybe he'll call Drew about all of these.

After Drew's parents were murdered by a hit from Galactic Gang, who took responsibility for the hit, Drew has been somewhat outcasted from the family. Since he's blood, he still has the rights of the top leaders in the family; however, those leaders make sure he stays low. He's on the same lever as Paul who is just a dog at Hayden Family's beck and call.

Once in his house, Paul scans through the papers and tries to sort them. Groaning to himself, he notices that there seems to be a decent amount of missing papers from Ash's pile. That woman must have them! He pulls out his phone to call Drew.

"Hey, Paul! What's up?" comes the overly chipper voice of the Hayden man.

"Have you heard from Ash?"

"No. Why? We training today?" Drew trains with Paul and Ash in secret because he doesn't want his family to get suspicious of him. He claims he's doing it for self defense, but who is Paul to question a Hayden?

Sighing, the purple haired man says, "I think he's in trouble."

Train Station

When Dawn finally gets to the safety of the public, she goes to the train station to buy a ticket back to the city. While waiting for the train, she carefully looks at the papers in her portfolio only to realize she grabbed some of the bloody papers! Because she's in public, she quickly closes the portfolio and tries to stay calm. If someone sees her with these now, she's going to have a hard time explaining to the police everything. Her story even seems suspicious to her!

Once on the train, Dawn is sitting by herself, so she checks to make sure she at least got all of her papers. And she doesn't. Gosh, Dawn! Can this day get any worse? Of course it does when she gets back to the office and sees the scary man from earlier in front of the building.

Taking a break from Things Money Can't Buy because I hit writer's block for that story. I have like 14 chapters, and the story should only end up being 20, but I'm not feeling it right now. I'm currently invested in this one though!
