Chapter 1

/

Waking up in the middle of a forest wearing nothing but my underwear isn't how I was expecting my day to go.

I was expecting to wake up in my bed, in my room, next to my dresser and my desk where I would get busy writing again, making sure whatever bullshit I had written the night before was actually legible,

Again, not expecting to wake up in the middle of a forest, leaning against a particularly tough tree with the most painful hangover I've ever experienced.

Groaning, I put my head in my hands and simply sit there for a few minutes as I wait it to subside.

Why did I even have a hangover? I don't drink?

Without warning, my hangover seemingly vanished, as if it wasn't there at all.

"What the fuck?" I mutter to myself as I push myself to stand. I always assumed hangovers lasted a while, not vanishing in an instant.

"Hello!"

"Jesus!" I fall backwards and push myself back up against the tree. "What the fuck was that?!"

"Do not be alarmed." the voice tries to calm me. It sounded like it was in my head!

"Where are you?" I ask as I try to heed the voices' advice. I'm going crazy, that's it… Waking up in the middle of the forest, wearing nothing but my underpants, suddenly hearing voices? I'm going insane!

"You aren't going insane." the voice comforts. Without any warning, a brown and black slimy tendril seemed to extend from my body, forming a face with extremely familiar eyes and rows upon rows of razor sharp teeth.

"Oh my, God..." I mutter as I look at this… thing coming from me. This Symbiote, this Klyntar. "Please don't eat me, I'll give you all the chocolate you want, I promise!"

"Good, good, but I am not going to eat you. You are far too useful to be allowed to die."

"I… what?"

"You know things, yes? Of my people, of the Klyntar. You know of my species hive mind?" Seeing my nod, it continues. "It seems I have been… cut off from the hive mind, and it is disconcerting. I wish to discover the reasons as to why. You are going to help me discover why."

"I- yeah, sure. Of course! But… Why me?"

"You seem to know things, more than most of my hosts have ever dreamed of… If anybody can help me, it's you."

"Aah, that… that makes sense." I mutter before looking around again. "By the way, where are we?"

"You do not know?"

"Dude, I just woke up. Last I remember, I was in my bed at home, asleep, and fully clothed." I reply with a raised brow. "I thought you brought me here?"

"Why would I ever bring you here?! I found you here, under this tree." it seems to scowl at me.

"I don't know? Because it's secluded and a nice place to dispose of a body in case you needed to kill me or something?"

"Why would I want to leave your body if I could just eat you?"

"Fair point..." I say after a pause. "That being said, if you didn't bring me here, and I didn't get here on my own, how did I get here. Also, where is here?"

Standing back up again, I glance down at my mostly naked body.

"Umm… can you disguise yourself as clothes like other symbiotes? Because I'd rather not be seen in public wearing only my underwear."

Silently the face goes back into my body before spreading across me, shifting into a pair of brown jeans, a black t-shirt, a brown hoodie, and a pair of brown and black tennis shoes.

At least I somewhat liked the color combination, though it could do with a bit more color.

"By the way, what should I call you?" I ask as I pick a random direction and start walking. "You may be threatening to eat me, but I don't want to just call you thing, or Symbiote all the time."

"I am Spite." He- They? They spoke into my mind. God that was so weird...

"Spite, huh? I'd say nice to meet you, but..."

\

Thankfully I could hear the sounds of a city not too far away from wherever I was, so it didn't take too long for me to make it to the city, though when I saw the sign, I knew I was in even bigger trouble than I had originally thought.

"Why did you stop!"

"I think I found the answer to your problem..." I mutter as I stare at the sign in shock.

Welcome to Metropolis!

Under those unassuming words was a picture of a man in red and blue tights with an S inside a shield design on his chest.

Home of Superman!

"Well? What is it! Why am I cut off from the hive?!"

"Well, buddy… Neither of us are in our home universe anymore. The reason you are disconnected is because the Klyntar don't exist in this universe… And neither does my family. We are both alone."

"What?! You're lying!"

"You know damn well I'm not." I shot back with a scowl. "Come on, let's get you something to eat so you can calm down a bit."

"I AM CALM!"

"Of course you are." I mutter. "Still, some food will do us both good."

Pausing for a moment, I pat my clothes and sigh.

"No wallet, no money..." I'd rather not steal, but it's stealing some chocolate bars or have my pancreas eaten by an amorphous, sentient, alien, slime.

"We could eat someone." Spite says. I could almost feel his drool dripping from his teeth.

"No. No eating people, unless they are bad people, but even then, that's up for debate. We are in Superman's territory, and unless you want to fight him, I'd suggest the chocolate." I put my foot down as I try to mentally push my knowledge of Superman to the Symbiote.

Ducking into a corner store, I peruse their shelves and look for their candy section.

After a moment, I can sense a nod from him.

"Fine… I will settle for Chocolate, for now."

"Thank you." I sigh as I avoid looks from other patrons. Grabbing a few chocolate bars, some Dark, some milk, and some various other types, and shove them up my sleeve. The feeling of my clothes shifting around my arm and quite literally eating around it was quite disturbing.

"You good?" I mutter under my breath.

"This will suffice." It replies in a hiss.

Stuffing a few more bars of chocolate into my pocket for later, I slide out the door before ducking into a side alley.

"Look, now that you aren't trying to eat anybody, we need to make a plan." I say as I start pacing. From my shoulder, a tendril flowed around and formed a face.

"Agreed." He nods. "You seem to know this world, it's protectors, it's enemies. How do we proceed?"

"Well… We can do a few things. If we want to find out how we got here, we'll need help. I'm no scientist or inventor, but there are several in this reality who should be able to help us. Ted Kord, Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, and several other spring to mind."

"You don't trust this Luthor…"

"He's a manipulative asshole who hates aliens, specifically Superman. He'd sooner rip you out of me and dissect you in an attempt to find a way to fight Superman than actually help us. At least with the heroes we can know that they won't do that unless we pose a serious threat to them."

"The heroes are weak."

"We can use them." I shoot back. "They have morals, as long as we don't give them reason not to, they will trust us. They will help us."

With a scowl, Spite nods.

"Fine… How would you get their attention?"

Glancing around, I finally look up at the buildings around us.

"I need to get up there." I say, pointing at one of the roofs.

Melding back into me, my clothes shift and cover me completely, forming the familiar fanged maw and jagged eyes over my own face. My arms were coated in Spite's ooze before it formed into two long fingered clawed hands. Instead of a spider symbol, my chest remained blank, though black veins seemed to pulse across my body.

I looked like the Movie Venom, if he was slimmer and brown with black veins instead of black with white veins.

It was somewhat terrifying.

Feeling my body move against my will, we leapt against the wall and started scaling it as if it was nothing. Our talons piercing through the brick like a pencil through paper.

It didn't take us long to make it up.

Shifting back into my clothes, I stumble forward before catching myself.

"Umm… Thanks."

"You're welcome." He replies. "Now… Your plan?"

"Right…" I mutter.

Steeling myself, I cup my hands around my mouth to act as a megaphone and shout out for the Man of Steel.

"Superman!"

And scene. Had an idea in my head for this for a while. Was going to write another Star Wars Fic, but i felt really in the mood for a Super Hero fic.

Shout out to Desert Chocolate's fics for the inspiration. Dial, and Adorable Murderbeasts. I definitely would recommend them if you want a nice Self Insert.

Also, if you want a visual for Spite, simply google the Symbiote Phage and you've got a good idea. Thinking of making him the cover pic for this fic.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this fic. I'm going to be trying to update this semi regularly, so feel free to follow for notifications.

Thanks!
