My first Darling in the franxx story hope you like it

The garden

Before the great Dr. Franxx was 002 and 016, he named himself Hiro.

They just found the two hidden behind a tree in the snow cover forest of the garden.

"Hmm," he did loud enough to get everyone's attention.

"What is it, Doctor?" an assistant said.

"I need to have a chat with papa and the other about these two," he said before leaving the room.

He went to his office and called up the overseers if this world.

A few rings, and he was met with the voice of Papa.

"You called ?"

"It about 002 and 016."

"What about is it, our orders were unequivocal."

"I know, buts you know these two were found together and later found out 016 consumed the girl's blood."

"What are you getting at," one of their chairmen said in a huff.

"Quit, I want to hear what the doctor has to say."

"The boys probably useless to us now but… call if scientific curiosity, I want to see where this relationship goes. After all, this is uncharted territory. Any self-respecting scientist would be a fool, not look into it!"

"You want to taint the special specimen just to satisfy your own scientific curiosity!" this time, it was another chairmen to speak.

"I said silence!"

"Sorry, Papa."

"I must admit you have intrigued me, ." Papa took a few moments to contemplate the doctor's word and reasoning "very well, you have permission to continue forward."

"R-really! Pardon me for a second, but I wasn't expecting this"

"We're in the midst of a war against the klaxosaurs, and it would be foolish not to try out a different path to get the same result. History has proven the benefits of trying multiple solutions to solve one problem."

"Then, I must return to my work papa, and thank you for your approval."

"I expect regular updates to see if this path is worth out time doctor, am I clear!"

"I expected nothing less from you, papa."

"You may go now," with that he shut off the transmission.

When he returned to the two, many of his assistants were wondering what to do.

"What are we to do with them, ?"

"I want to keep these two together to see what will becomes of him after ingesting her blood."

"But what about the other children in his group?" one assistant asked.

"Treat him as the others that didn't make the cut."

The next day

"What!" a girl with blue hair said with a stuffed cat in her arms.

"I'm sorry, but 016 will no longer be with you anymore."

This sent looks of a shock to all the small children.

Their de facto leader is now among the missing.

With Hiro

Hiro was finally waking up after a long night of rest.

He looks around him to see he's in an empty room with a single door and bed.

"Where am I?"

Suddenly the door opens to reveal one of the many adults that look after the children.

"Hey, where am I, and why am I not with the others?"

For the first time, an adult was able to answer his question.

"You are in a separate section on the garden, the Doctor has special plans for you and the girl," she said with no emotion.

"What, girl?"

"Darling?" he looks behind the adult to see the red-skinned girl in her cloak looking right at him with the book in hand.

He couldn't stop the smile from forming at the sight of her.

002 shared that same smile after seeing him again.

The assistant couldn't help but smile as faint memories of her time from before she became immortal.

She quickly hid it.

Six years later

On a transport ship to plantation 13 for an introduction ceremony.

An old man with clear cybernetic sat in one of the seats with his two long-running experiment setting side by side.

One with long pink hair with military cap sucking on sucker looked out the windows with a blank expression.

She wore a red blazer and black stocking with a military jacket and white gloves.

Beside her was her partner in a white military-style uniform with a military hat as well reading a book about birds.

"I want to take a bath."

"Not again show some self-restraint," the doctor said

"Darling, how do I smell?"

Hiro was brought from his book and looks her in the eye with a smile.

"You smell fine, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to wash up after our last battle. Stress from fighting can cause someone to sweat and being in this chair as long as we have has a similar effect."

"See, my darling says I need a bath," she said, sticking out her tongue.

let outs sigh at this, "what must she be so high maintenance."

"Does plantation 13 have an ocean?"

"Why do you ask?"

"I want to swim in some clear ocean water."

"There's no ocean down there, can't you just take a shower."

"I'm in the mood for a swim."

"Nana, how has everyone been since I left them all those years ago," Hiro asked.

This time a woman with red hair looks him the eye.

"They seem to be doing fine, still going by the names you gave them, but they are one pair short of a group of five Franxx. How have you been since joining the nines with zero two."

"I'm technically not a member but a reserve in case one of them dies or is incapacitated," he said from his book.

"Still, how's life with them."

"Not so bad since I'm the only one who can ride with zero two. Despite that, APE does acknowledge my skills as a stamen."

She had a small frown at this as it was no secret.

Anyone beside Hiro can only ride with zero two no more than three times.

The was discovered a few years ago when Hiro had to have emergency surgery. Forcing him to not pilot for a few weeks.

She looks to his hat and can see the faint color of blue along with his eyes.

Noticing her gaze, "don't worry about it," he said still in his book he's no stranger to the glances the adult gives him from time to time.

"Sorry, just wish it didn't have to come to it after piloting with Zero Two."

It was at this time, Zero two latch onto his arm, resting her head on his shoulder as she fell asleep.

Hiro cracked a small smile at this.

It was no secret they were an item to the higher up.

In a strange twist of fate that only increased their sync rate.

The pilot of the ship announced the descent will be soon asking them to buckle up.

Plantation 13 parasite lodge

"What? A special forces Franxx is coming to the ceremony."

"That's right. It's supposed to be a safeguard in case any klaxosaurs show up during the ceremony," a loudmouth boy with blond hair practically shouts.

"I wonder who they are?" a girl with blond hair said.

"Kokoro does have a point. We don't know who this pair is, but I heard from one of the adults in security that he was placed in a special program when we were younger."

"Are you saying it might be someone from our group that disappeared?" Zorome said

"Maybe, but we won't know till the ceremony," Ichigo said.

"If its someone from our group there no telling who it might be"

"That not all to the rumor. The pilot is the only one who can pair with this pistol cause she kills anyone else!" Zorome shouted with his hands in the air, trying to make it all scary.

"Someone who disappeared from our group and can only pilot this mysterious pistol, could it be him?" Mitsuru thought.

"Something on your mind Mitsuru?" Ikuno stated

"Its nothing important."

"Hmm, maybe if we're lucky they stay with us, so we have a group of five Franxx," Zorome said aloud again.

"Maybe" this time it was Goro to speak.

With Hiro and Zero two

Nana and the other were walking through the plantation, going down a set of escalators.

"Hows Hachi doing?"

"He has been tasked to speed up the children's training. But this will be our one several trial runs with a makeshift team. Why it has to be here no less."

"You are aware of this group of children with relation to Hiro, are you not?"

"Yes, I am, but he's beyond them if I may be so bold."

"I know, but the scientist in me wants to see what will happen, and it seems out little problem child has gone missing."

Nana was justifiable concern looking around for before her eye landed on Hiro.

Hiro looks up from his book, "even though we're partners even I can't keep a hold on her," he said with a smirk.

"Oh, come on Hiro, you have to know where she is."

He points downward.

Nana looks over to see Zero two looking at them, twirling her hat.

With a sigh, "I'll get it," he closes his book and jumps on the railing sliding down to the floor they are meant to get off at before disappearing into the bowls of the plantation.

"Should we go with him" Nana practically yelled.

"No, he'll find her he always does, but it wouldn't hurt to have security go bring her back as I doubt he can. After all, that girl has always been a handful even with Hiro beside her."

An hour later

Hiro was at the top of the plantation walking through the forest looking for his partner.

No matter how far she goes, he always finds her no matter the distance.

that's just side effects from his condition.

Eventually, he found a small pond with light fog rolling over the surface of the water.

After looking furth, he finds her clothing on a nearby tree.

"FOUND YOU!" suddenly, there was a large splash of water as his partner surfaced with fish in her mount.

Being Zero two, she had no sense of modesty in front of him.

"Come on, join me, darling, the waters great!"

"No, thanks, Zero two. We have to get back for the ceremony."

"Oh come on, they can wait a few more minutes beside I want to spend some quality time with you," she said into his ear in a seductive tone.

Hiro could stop the blush from forming, causing her to sport a smirk.

"As tempting as that is now is not the time."

She let out a pout before conceding to his reasoning.

After putting all her clothes back on, not even caring Hiro was staring the whole time.

After she was done, she gave him a small peck on the lips, "thanks for caring about me."

"Its no problem. We should probably hurry, or security is gonna be on our ass any minute now."

Just them armed security appeared out of the thick brush surrounding them.

"Look like its time to go" she stated

Later that day

Many attended the ceremony with Papa giving a rousing speech about shedding every last blood to stop the klaxosaurs.

A few hours later

All the parasites are getting ready for there start-up sequence in there Franxx.

On the outskirts of the plantation, Hiro and Zero two were standing by.

"You smell that, Darling?"

"Yes, it's a klaxosaur," he stares out into the fog rolling over the barren landscape.

Suddenly the ground began to shift and crack in a matter of moments before the unmistakable appearance of klaxosaur.

From its black mechanical shell with sky blue interior visible through thin openings along with its shell.

It let out fierce battle cray before the plantation open fired on it in a vain attempt to stop it.

The creature rammed the plantation, brushing off each cannon shot direct at it.

One look from Dr. Franxx was enough to confirm it as Mohorovičić class, and it was a mighty brute.

Its size and strength were enough to order the cancelation of the start-up ceremony for all the parasites of plantation 13.

"Ready Zero two," he cast off his hat, revealing two blue horns.

"Do you even need to ask darling!"

"Hmm, let's end this fight quickly."

The klaxosaur was facing down the new franxx, ready to let loose a powerful attack when it suddenly slammed out of the way by a different franxx.

The Franxx was mostly white with a red outline, and orange magma powered spear.

"What kind of Franxx is that?" Ichigo shouts over the intercom.

Nana was the one to respond "that franxx is called the strelitzia."

They watch is aw as the franxx effortlessly clashed with the Klaxosaurs dealing blow after blow.

Until the monster backway staring down the franxx before its tail opened up and started spinning up.

"This isn't good" Zero two said

"I know, we have to act fast, or the plantation is gone."

The pistol and stamen sync rate began to skyrocket before it charged at the beast.

Hiro and Zero two shouted in unison as they met the klaxosaur head-on before activating the spear.

In a moment, they perceived its core ending the klaxosaur life in an instant.

"We did it Zero two," Hiro said in a proud smirk.

"I'd expect nothing less, darling."

After the battle

The sun was nearing sundown as the damage from the battle was cleared away.

The parasites stands outside with Nana and the others.

Their eyes locked on the Franxx that effortlessly destroyed the klaxosaur.

Then the unmistakable sound the face door opening of the strelitzia.

They waited in anticipation of who the stamen and pistol are.

The first person to exit was a girl with long pink hair in a red pistol suit with red horns.

"Are those horns?"

"Allow me to introduce you, that's 002 she with the special forces unit controlled by APE, she a girl that carries Klaxosaur blood and-"

Nearly all the parasite eyes popped out of their heads as the stamen came out.

His suit was also red, and he was sporting horns like the girl, but his are BLUE.

"Is that Hiro!" Ichigo yelled.

"Yes, code 016 or Hiro as he goes by is the pilot of the strelitzia and member of the special forces unit," Nana finished.

He stood behind Zero two, staring down at them before waving to them with a smile.

The only one who maintained his composer was Mitsuru.

"I never thought you would be in the special forces Hiro," he shouts.

"Long time no see Mitsuru and same for the rest of you."

"Darling, who are they?"

"Oh, those my friends before I met you," he said with a smile, causing her to giggle.

"What are we waiting for? I'm sure you have some catching up to do."

"Your probably right assuming the rest can even speak to me after so long," he let out a yawn.

"I think that might have to wait till tomorrow you seem pretty tired" she leaned on him.

Seeing their action cause most of squad 13 to blush at this display.

The next day

Hiro and Zero two stood next to Nana in their military outfits this time, neither of them hiding their horns from the world.

They were watching the start-up sequence of plantation 13 Franxx pilots.

After the sequence was done, Hiro and Zero two headed towards the parasite boarding house. After all, they will have no end of the question for Hiro.

They didn't have to wait long as the eight parasites finally returned.

They were sitting in the main room setting side by side silently as they all stared at them from the far wall.

Both sides were waiting for the others to make the first move.

Not one for patience, Mitsuru had enough.

He walked over and sat down beside Hiro.

"You have a lot of explaining to do Hiro."

"I know I just left without saying goodby, but can you blame me? It was the garden, after all."

"I won't argue with that."

"So, what do you want to know first."

"Think you can start with those," he pointed to the horns.

"Of all the question you had to start with you chose these" by this time, the other had sat down surrounding the thee of them.

Hiro went into detail of how he first met Zero two, and up to a point, he was put in a unique program with her.

"So you ingester her blood, and that was a result," he looked to her horns.

"Yes, but keep in mind I'm only telling you what I'm allowed to say."

"Nana mentioned you are part of the special forces unit who are they and how does it work?" this time it was Kokoro to ask.

"They're called the nine since there are nine of them. I am a member, but to be more precise, I'm a reserve member in case something happened to them."

"That explains the white military outfit your wairing."

"Yes, I'm also the only one who can pilot the strelitzia as anyone else won't last long," he trailed off.

They understood what he was getting at and silently agreed not to pursue it.

"To answer the second part Kokoro the special forces is an elite team who primarily work on the front lines. Or if a plantation needs any back up is there anything else.

For the next few hours, they asked, he answered to the best of his ability.

The last question came from Ichigo who asked "what your relationship with Zero two about"

Noticing the look in Ichigo's eye since they first saw them. Zero two decided to answer," does this answer it" she lightly pecked his cheek with her lips before resting her head on his shoulder.

This surprised everyone at her forcefulness as this was something utterly alien to them.

They didn't have time to dwell on it as Nana made herself known, explaining how she will be their caretaker like in the garden.

She politely asked Hiro and Zero two to follow her as they have no further business with them.

All the parasite had there eye glued on the two as they left the with Nana.

City elevator

"You two should avoid them from now on as their not ready to deal with the two of you."

"Sorry, they no doubt had a lot of questions after not seeing me for so long."

"I know Dr. Franxx was clear about that when I asked where you two were. Hiro, how much did you say to them?"

"What I'm allowed to say nothing more nothing less. Of course, they didn't make it easy for me," he pointed to his blue horns, causing a slight frown to form on Nana's face.

"I wish you didn't have to go through that."

"I know, but if I didn't, who would pilot the strelitzia with Zero two longer then three rides?"

"You do have a point there."

"So, what are we going to do now?" Zero two asked

"I don't know that decision is left up the papa and the others."

Pistol and stamen traded glances before mentally saying, "this is going to be interesting/fun."
