It's okay Gohan. Even heroes cry too.

Some may call it a bit cheesy. Some may call it a bit poetic. As for her? As for her, those words. Those very same words that she had spoken a short few hours ago were nothing but the truth. Had come from the heart. Growing up she never believed in such a thing. Heroes never existed for her if they did? If they did and one came to save the day so long ago maybe none of this would have ever happened. Maybe she would still be a human being instead of an android. Maybe she would be out there somewhere in the world making a name out for herself. But that was just it. A maybe. A maybe that never became a reality for her. In the end all of this did happen. She had been turned into an android. Had been abducted off the streets along with her twin brother with nobody batting an eye to their sudden disappearance. Nobody out there looking for them. Nobody out there looking to rescue them from the hell they were about to be put through.

But then suddenly that mindset had changed. It just took a little while to do so. Changed thanks to the young saiyan laying in her arms. A savior that has long since cried himself to sleep. A young man that she now knew wears his heart on his sleeve. An observation of hers from long ago now proven to be right. A young man that she has silently watched after as he sleeps right next to her using her chest as a pillow. As she watches the sun slowly rise on the horizon. A young man whose life has been one personal hell. At least that is the way she thought anyways. To have so many expectations laid out before you. Such high expectations that they had to know could never be reached. Expectations that came with rules that needed to be followed. Rules that couldn't be broken at any costs. That is what his wardens thought anyways. Wardens that she can still hear being sound asleep still inside of their bedroom if the running chainsaw sound was any indication. Wardens that truly don't know how special their son really is. Nobody truly does. But she has a good feeling. A really good feeling. He is a hero. A true hero. A hero that doesn't need to be praised. Doesn't need to be pat on the back for his achievements. Doesn't need to be told right from wrong. No, he is a genuine hero. Her hero. Her savior. Her darling now and forever until the day they both decide to leave this world for good.

For now though she has a job to do. Still has a task to complete before she can look forward to the future and that task is simple. Survival. His survival. Even now as she looks him over she can see the nanobots inside of his bloodstream doing their job. Can see results slowly being shown but she wouldn't celebrate just yet. If she knew just what this virus is. Just knew how it reacted to certain things then perhaps she could find a faster solution. For now though she would just have to hope and pray that these nanobots finds the source. Hopes they destroy the very thing that had invaded his bloodstream. The very same virus that she was now sure would be lost in history if these nanobots do the trick.

The Hyperbolic Time Chamber. That unique room. If she was guessing right and believed the stories about it then Gohan would be the last to carry this virus. A virus that he should never have carried in the first place. That thought alone still infuriates her. How could anyone be that stupid she would never know but when it comes to Goku? She knew she shouldn't have any doubt anymore about the man's stupidity. How he could he just think that because he was feeling better that meant the virus was gone? How could any of them think such a thing? How could any of them not prepare somewhere to have him placed down in quarantine until they were sure the virus was no longer present inside of his body? Questions that she would never know. Questions that don't matter to her now. If The Z Fighters that had been with him got infected. If Bulma or Chi Chi got infected the way she thinks they deserved it. Deserve to suffer like this young man has suffered. A small price to pay in her opinion. She would not be there to save them. No, they would have to save themselves. They would have to grow a set and find a solution to their problems themselves. As for her? She would just watch their world burn before them with a grin across her face.

Pathetic, disgusting,oh she could go on and on. So many words to describe the scene around her right now. What should be a happy occasion. What should be the end of an era. What should be the beginning of something new. Something special and yet deep down she shouldn't be surprised at what is going on around her. A small party. A small celebration to celebrate Gohan's recovery. Something that should be celebrated. In fact at first when she had heard this being planned she thought it was very fitting. It should be celebrated. If he hadn't pulled through well….let's just say she was glad she didn't need to find out what would happen afterwards. A party that as it went on started to irritate her though she wouldn't let it show. She would just keep a neutral expression across her face staying close to Gohan's side. A young man that even though was in the clear would still need time to recover fully from the effects the virus had on him. Most noticeably his limbs. Arms that he once told her felt like lead when he tried to pick them up. Legs that felt like jello when he would try to take a step. Things that would disappear in time. That she was more than sure of. Something a little fresh air enjoying nature by taking a walk or a swim in the stream wouldn't fix.

But a night that as it went on was starting to get on her nerves. She could deal with the stares. The looks of distrust across some of The Z Fighters's faces. She could deal with the lingering glances coming from Krillin's way. Why the baldheaded buffoon couldn't get a clue was beyond her. It was as though he was expecting her to drop down to her knees and beg him to date her. Beg him to have his child in the future naming her after one of his ex girlfriends. Like that would ever happen. No what she couldn't deal with was how the party had shifted in a bad way. Had shifted from being a celebration of Gohan's recovery to his victory over Cell. A fight still fresh on the minds of many. A fight that was told in great detail from each of The Z Fighters to those that hadn't been there. Stories the more and more were told she could see was just making Gohan more uncomfortable. Making him more and more quiet the more they spoke of his feat. An incredible feat she might add but a feat that deep down she knew this young man didn't want to be reminded of. Deep down didn't want to remember for the pain that he had to endure.

A party that had been so easy to sneak away from when nobody was looking, bringing Gohan along for the ride, never once releasing a hold of his hand promising him a good time to end the night as she flew him out of sight of Capsule Corp and into the horizon. He was still young afterall and what kid doesn't like an arcade or a movie theatre?

" Satan,Satan,Satan!"

The roar of the crowd chanting his name. Something he could never not get enough of. Chants he always loved to hear. Always loved to hear whenever he came out victorious in a fight. His undefeated record speaks for itself. And yet for reasons others will never know these chants he hears right now. These chants that follow his limousine as it pulls up to his home with his countless fans waiting for him outside of the gates? They felt frightened. Felt like he couldn't breath and only he knew why. These chants shouldn't be his own. The documentaries being made of him right now? The cities vollying to have their names changed in his honor. The countless stream of donations made to him for cities all across the world. None of it should be his. No they should belong to another. A blonde haired child. The Golden Fighter. That is what he has heard some call him. This Golden Fighter that he had witnessed destroying Cell. Had watched as he was like a hero rescuing the fair maiden from the belly of the beast itself. Had watched put down this creature once and for all. A feat that he only he had witnessed. A feat he had taken credit for almost instantly when all these mysterious fighters just seemed to vanish. It wasn't like the kid was gonna need any of this anyways. From what he had seen the kid looked as though he had died himself when his body had turned crimson like he was from some kind of horror movie. A child that hasn't been seen since along with the rest of the gentlemen with him.

But that is far from his mind as he puts on his game face once the limousine door opens and he steps out only to raise his fists up in his signature pose causing the crowd to go wild. Cause for her countless fans to cheer loudly for him. Some raising up signs with various pictures on them. A few with simple things like his name in bold letters. Some with drawings of him standing over a defeated Cell in the very stance he is in right now. Others that just make him grin when he sees phone numbers across them with proposals of marriage attached to them. Fan after fan that he looks towards with his trademark grin. That is until his eyes suddenly are found staring into a pair of blue eyes. These familiar blue eyes that make his eyes go wide in shock. This familaur blonde haired woman that stands in the crowd of his fans just grinning sinisterly at him. A look that makes him sweat bullets as he sees her raise up her right hand and send him a small waive.

" And that's that."

Looking up from her magazine looking across his bedroom finding Gohan staring at her with his jaw dropped and the text book in front of him all but forgotten closing up her reading material swinging her legs over the edge of the bed with a grin slowly Android 18 makes her way across the room not looking away from his eyes for a single second as her hands come down to rest gently on his shoulders.

" So you're blackmailing him?"

Tilting her head slightly with a thoughtful expression coming across her face after a couple of seconds with a smile coming across her face nodding her head Android 18 looks back down towards Gohan's face seeing his eyes looking up towards her in disbelief.

" I like to think we're doing him a favor. It's simple really. He can have the glory since we both know that you don't care for it. In exchange he will pay us monthly to not show the world how much a fraud he is."

Seeing his disbelief change into disapproving giving his shoulders a gentle squeeze leaning down Android 18 leans her head against Gohan's own as her hands come down to hug him from behind.

" Think of this as an investment to our future. This way we don't have to worry about anything going forward. We don't have to worry about paying for college when the time comes. We don't have to worry about anything regarding money really. Just don't think about it and do what i do. Just enjoy the moment."

Leaning her head back for a few seconds as she sees his eyes downcast to his lap right when she sees him lift his head back up and nod his head slightly with a faint smile returning his smile with a grin leaning down Android 18 kisses Gohan on the cheek causing to her amusement his face going bright red.

" Now get back to work so we can get out of here. If you're good i might consider showing you the new bikini I bought recently when we go out to the stream later tonight."

And just like that as she sees his face getting even redder not even bothering to hide the pleased smile that is coming across her face turning on her heels making her way across the room to once again take a seat back on the bed the moment she picks up her magazine and returns her attention back to where she was last looking feeling a pair of eyes still watching her a sly grin comes across Android 18's face. It was so easy to tease him. So easy for her to get what she wants. A simple peck on the cheek that could turn his face crimson. The simplest of winks that could get him all flustered. And boy was she going to enjoy every second of it as she counts down the years until she could do more but for now she is content on just waiting to see what the future might bring them. For he is her darling.

Author's Notes: And that wraps up this story. I know, I know. Some of you are wanting more. Well i have reasons for why the story ends like this. Simply put when i first wrote up this story it was only suppose to be five chapters originally. I decided to extend out the story as much as i could but with what i'm about to go into you will see why it had to end. Now as for what i'm getting into is this. I have a couple of story outlines for much longer Gohan/Android 18 stories. Some of the ideas in those stories i could have used in this but decided against it since i want all my stories to be different than the other. The next story that i'm gonna be posting up is a what if story about the famous kiss between Android 18 and Krillin where it's Gohan that receives the kiss instead causing everything to change from the original storyline. Until then.
