Chapter 1

In a world populated by anthropomorphic animals both Carnivores and herbivores live in peace but this is not always the case. This is due to the instincts of the Carnivores the herbivore species sometimes end up being devoured and this leads to conflict and death.

Our story takes place in the school of Cherryton Academy where both sides of the Animal spectrum work in coexistence with each other but what happens when a new species is introduced through an odd circumstance and gains the attention of the Animals of this world as he begins his new life at the Academy.

Frantic Panting and loud desperate footsteps could be heard echoing off the walls of the school building as the sun cast a dark hue through the windows of the school basking the interior in a dark and sinister glow. Clutching a ripped and bleeding arm a male Alpaca rushed down a flight of stairs almost losing his footing as he ran for his life not noticing the sinister shadow cast behind him.

Bursting through two large doors the Alpaca quickly turned to close the entrance pushing his back against the entrance to stop the threat from getting to him as the herbivore was encompassed in darkness.

A sudden push against the door shocked the injured herbivore as he was jolted forward yet still held firm as yet another jolt rocked the door. "Are..you really trying to eat your own classmate?...w...we had so many classes together...".

The Alpaca panting for air paused for a second before a final shove from the attacker burst open the doors as the young Alpaca gasped as he was thrown forward down a flight of stairs tumbling down to the bottom as his body lay limp against the ground. Quickly scurrying further away the young herbivore looked up to the doors as his eyes widened and pupils shrunk as he looked upon the shadowy figure of his attacker as the doors closed once again submerging the room back into darkness.

Picking himself back up the Alpaca began to walk back blindly as he swivelled his head from side to side trying to locate his attacker. "Do you carnivores only think of us as food?" He spoke into the darkness as he knocked into something spilling its contents onto the floor as the herbivore continued to back away as he stepped onto a remote which suddenly activated a projector blinding him as he instantly shielded his eyes from the light.

Continuing to backpedal the alpaca gazed upon his attacker as he squinted from the projector's light seeing and feeling the hot breath of the animal in front of him). "You carnivores are nothing but MONSTERS!". He screamed before the attacker lunged forward with mouth open revelling the teeth...of a CARNIVORE...

The morning rays lit the city up in a golden glow as mammals of all shapes and size wondered about in there daily life. Copious amounts of chatter could be heard throughout the entirety of the school from Carnivorous to herbivores as they talked about the incident that had occurred.

"Papers...papers here". A voice echoed out as students wondered about some with the freshly printed paper in hand with the headline Student devoured in school. "Devoured...did you here...it was Tem...from drama club". A group of herbivorous conversed about what had transpired as they all looked shocked and sad as a Female Alpaca looked away sadly)."E...Els...he was in your club...". A female parrot spoke to the alpaca as she raised her head sadly. "W..we just rehearsed yesterday.."

"I bet a carnivore student was responsible".A young female donkey spoke to the group as they turned to look at a hyena and a Fox both of whom flicked their ears and turned toward them slightly. "W..we cant be sure t.. that it was a student". Else spoke as the rest of the group turned to look at her. "Well, it's obvious that it was a carnivore". The Donkey said as they continued to talk about what happened as the group spoke words of worry to Els about Tem being from Drama club the same as her and the fact that the drama club was one of the only groups that both Carnivores and herbivores got along together.

"You have to be really careful Els...there's a grey wolf in that club of yours...is that right". Els looked away from the donkey's question as her ears lowered. "Well..this is ruining my appetite". The young parrot said as others from the group nodded in agreement and headed on there way leaving the young female alpaca to her thoughts..but none of them noticed the clawed grey-furred hand that slipped away from sight.

(Location...Earth...2020...) The rain poured down into the city streets as the sound of something crashing echoed off the walls of a dark alley as desperate and erratic footsteps could be heard. "S...stay...the fuck away from m...me". A teenagers voice shouted into the dark as he continued to run away from whatever was chasing him.

(God dammit...why is he chasing me...why me goddammit). The teen to busy thinking instead of focusing on where he was running ended up down a corridor with no exit as the teen began to panic as a sudden sound from behind caught his attention. A large and imposing figure face shrouded in a hood stood tall at the exit of the alley the rain falling off his clothing as the figure began to approach the panicked teen.

"S...s...STAY AWAY FROM ME". The figure continued to approach as he reached into his pocket and withdrew a sharp glinting blade as the figure got closer and closer. The teenager began to panic even more looking around desperately for some sort of escape his breath catching in his throat and heart-pounding he saw his only option was to push past the figure.

Standing up shakily the teenager stared at the blade fearfully and then to the figures head as tears began to fall from the teenager's eyes blending with the rain as they fell to the ground. "S...so...any chance of just letting me past...hehe...". The figure chuckled maniacally as he shook his head and readied his blade pointing it directly at the teenager.

The two stood still the time seems to go on forever as the rain continued to pour down from the darkened sky onto them...suddenly the teenager rushed forward trying desperately to get past the figure. Yet he failed to consider the speed in which the figure moved as he grasped the teen by the hand and plunged the sharp-pointed blade into his stomach as the teen let out a pained and startled gasp as his body went lax.

The figure began to chuckle slightly as he leaned into the teenager's ear and whispered quietly. "Now...bleed for me...bleed till you can bleed no more...". The figure broke out into maniacal laughter as he watched the teen slump to the ground blood beginning to pool around his body as it flowed from his gaping wound mixing with the rain.

The teen lay collapsed on the floor groaning in agony as he felt his life essence flowing out of him his body becoming weaker and weaker as his eyes began to dip his view becoming blurred and faded. (Wh...wha...what happened i... i feel so weak..am...am i...dying...w...i...i don't want to go...i...i...i...i...want...to k...keep...on living...). The last thing the teen heard was the maniacal laughing as his vision faded to black and he witnessed no more.

The hooded figure looked down at his handy work as he cleaned his crimson-stained blade on his wet clothing smearing the blood as he chuckled one last time before turning away from his seemingly deceased victim. As he left he failed to notice the subtle glow that seemed to encompass the teenagers still body as the light became stronger and more bright as the light lit up the dark alleyway filling it in a luminous and blinding light. And as the light faded there was no trace of the teenager or what had transpired in the alley...

(He...felt something hard...he felt something against his body...w...was he alive...). The young teen grimaced as his face scrunched up in pain his eyes still closed yet he felt ground beneath him. His fingers twitched on reflex as his body began to react to his open wound as he groaned again in agony placing one hand against the solid ground for support and the other against his still bleeding wound. Opening his eyes his vision still blurred and disoriented gazed upon an alley similar to the one that the figure had trapped him in yet different in many ways as the teenager looked up at the darkening sky signalling that the day was over and the night had begun.

His hands still quivering from the loss of blood pushed his body up into a standing yet shaky position as he continued to clutch his wound to stem the flow of blood as he stumbled slowly and bleary towards a street light at the end of the alley...

"I swear that wolf is telling me I'm next". Els conversed with a lemur as they walked back toward there dorms after Drama club." Aww Come on Legoshi is a bit strange..that's all it is" Els looked unsure as the Lemur grabbed the alpacas hands.

"If you need anything come by my room anytime lemurs are always cheerful and fun to be around". Els smiled at this and thanked the lemur with a nod of her head as she left with a kind "Goodnight". As Els turned towards the steps leading to her dorm a rustling of a bush caught her attention as her ears perked up in sudden alarm as she let out a startled gasp as she slightly turned her head in the direction of the sound.

A figure moved away from a tree revealing his form to the Alpaca as he began to slowly approach the fearful Els as she fearfully began to back away. "G..go away" she trembled away further as she caught her shoe on a step. Looking up Els saw the light reveal a tall lupine figure looking down upon her as he approached closer and closer the shady light giving the lupine a menacing look.

"Y..you pretend to be my friend just so you can eat me when you g..get hungry" Els quickly pulled out a pair of scissors as she held them up defensively." Don't underestimate me...ill use this..T..Tem and i are tougher than you." She couldn't finish her sentence as the lupine reached forward as he swiftly grabbed her hand.

Unbeknown to the two animals, our human teenager had made his way shakily out from the dark alley and into what seemed to be a school ground of sorts. His eyes still blurred and his body still pained and weak he stumbled almost blindly in search of some form of help "H...help...a...anyone..p...please help...me".

The teenager pleaded into the darkness his voice deathly quiet as he continued his pain filled trek into the unknown, The teens wound continued to bleed as droplets of blood smeared along the ground as he leaned against a tree for support breathing erratically. As he tried to get his breathing under control he heard a shrill scream of a female in distress as our human looked toward the direction of the shriek.

Willing himself to move the teenager began to move in the direction that he had heard the cry this aggravated his wound further as more blood began to seep from his wound. As he passed a row of trees what he saw made him turn white with fear and confusion as his bleary eyes caught sight of what appeared to be two animals a wolf and what seemed to be some sort of sheep?.

Stumbling back slightly he closed his eyes tightly trying to make sense of what his eyes were showing him as he again opened his eyes. Yet the animals where still there...still standing on their hind legs...wearing clothing...sitting on a bench. "Wh..what the Flying floof of fun town...i..i must be...hallucinating that's r...right h..hehe..".

The teenager mumbled to himself chuckling slightly as he suddenly took a sharp intake of breath as he looked down at his wound as it continued to send spikes of pain through his wounded body. As he looked back up from his injury a shiver went down his spine as he turned paler...looking directly at him...ears perked and at attention was the Wolf eyes firmly locked in the human's direction as the lupine raised his muzzle slightly and began to sniff the air.

Seeing this the teen began to backpedal away from the animals as he turned to make a hasty exit his foot caught on an underlying tree root as he tumbled forward yelping in pain as his foot twisted sharply with a resounding snap. Tears now flowed freely down the teenager's cheeks as he continued to limp desperately away from the animals as he looked for cover finding solace in a group of bins which he collapsed by.

He was panting desperately trying to get his breathing under control as his pupils stayed dilated in fear as he shook uncontrollably his vision beginning to yet again fade to black as the teenager's body went lax...

Els looked curiously at Legoshi as she saw him sniff the air a few more times as he took a slight step forward towards the line of trees he had originally come from. "L...Legoshi...w...whats wrong...is..something there?" Els questioned the Tall wolf in slight fear and curiosity as the male lupine looked down at her with a slight smile. "Don't worry about it Els...it was nothing...Well, I gotta go" The male wolf turned and began to walk away but a sudden call from Els stopped him. "I..um said some bad things about you..the truth is y.. you're a generous wolf...ill make sure everybody knows...please forgive me" her voice drifted off towards the end as the male wolf sighed.

"Forget about it...no need" the answer he gave confused Els as she asked why "Id feel sorry that Tems first love was...revealed after he died". Els replied firmly "I know..and I understand that...but it's just not fair to you". The lupine looked up slightly "it wouldn't really change anyone's opinion anyway...ill be just fine...feard and hated..that's the story of my life"

Legoshi left with his shoulders slumped as his mind began to wonder about Tem...the letter...who could have devoured the young Alpaca. But also on what he had sensed beyond the trees..what he could smell...he sighed as he knew the scent...it was blood. Pausing for a moment he turned again in the direction he had scented the blood his instincts nudging at him to go and investigate and follow the scent to its end. Yet he buried this feeling away as he sighed groaning slightly as he tapped his head and continued on his lonely walk back to his dorm and his bed.
