Author Note This is a story about Harry who is strictly nonmagical but will grow to become a very powerful person in the Muggle World alongside Fleur Delcour.
So no Voldermort, Hogwarts, Dumbledore, Weasleys or Harry using any magic.
But I think it's going to be a good story nonetheless.
Chapter 1
November 8th, 1973
Dornoch, Scotland
"James, Harry, Rose come in the Prime Minister is about to speak" A red-haired woman called out to her family to join them in the living room in front of the telly.
Thirteen Year Harold "Harry" Potter walked down from his room with his sister Rose Potter to see their parents sitting on the couch glued to the screen.
Harry felt nervous as he sat down to watch the BBC Broadcast with his family.
His father was a fisherman who had been working in the area between the Faroe Islands and Iceland for decades now and as their family's main form of income, it was currently being threatened by recent events.
After recent International Pressure, the United Kingdom had been forced to concede large amounts of fishing water to Iceland to appease Nato in their struggle against Soviet Russia
But for his family and for many in their small fishing village who relied on the sea for much of their income the news was a disaster.
And the news that the Royal Navy had been outdone by the Small Nation of Iceland had proved to be an extreme humiliation for Harry's father who had been a veteran in the First World War and was dejected to see the decline of the once supreme British power.
Numbly Harry and the Rest of the Potter Family watched as Prime Minister Edward Heath appeared before the press to deliver a statement on the loss of thousands of British jobs due to the needs of the International Community.
"Good Morning my fellow countrymen "Heath said appearing before the cameras "Today we have achieved a wonderful agreement to …..".
The words spoken on the screen quickly faded into the background as Harry looked to the side and saw his father holding onto his mother silently sobbing as he officially received the news that his job for the forty-five years was no longer available to him.
Harry felt outraged at the British Government.
How on earth could the nation that had beaten Germany Twice in the past half-century have been forced to kowtow to a nation with less than a hundred thousand people?
It was outrageous and something should be done about it.
But Harry sadly knew that was unlikely in the current day and age.
Ever since the dispute with Iceland had started last September Harry had become interested in voraciously learning about world events and especially about the state of the British Military.
It was sad about how much England and its military were declining year by year where it was hard to see how that trend could be reversed short of a major war.
Now was not the time for those thoughts though.
Harry could tell that his parents might want some alone time to talk about the future so he reached out to his sister.
Shaking Roses Shoulder who was looking at the screen he whispered for her to come with him back upstairs.
As the two Potter Children walked up the stairs Rose held on to her older brother.
"Harry" She whispered, "I'm scared".
He did his best to reassure his sister rubbing her back.
"It's ok" Harry murmured "Were going to be fine".
But that was a feeling that Harry could not necessarily believe in himself. as he went into his own room to think.
Although fishing was still enabled in these regions for another two years that would eventually end and most likely their family would have to move and find new jobs.
Alongside a lot of the people in their neighborhood near the shore that was going to be losing their livelihoods over the next few years.
He needed to clear his head.
Going under his bed Harry took out his 1957 Winchester Model 70 Rifle that his father had taught him how to use when he had turned ten.
He could go hunting in the forest near their place with his neighbor and good friend Fleur Delcour.
Her father was also heavily involved in the fishing trade ever since he had to flee France during the German Occupation.
And if he had to take a guess knowing Fleur she would have a lot of the same thoughts going through her head.
Maybe a nice talk and a good hunt would help raise both of their spirits.
Unfortunately, his dad would not allow him to go out on his own with live rounds so he would have to use blanks.
Harry didn't mind that.
He was learning the skills of becoming a good marksman as his father had been in World War One.
Besides the fact is he always loved it when Fleur praised his skills.
Oh well
Walking down the stairs to the kitchen Harry went into the kitchen and found a cartridge of blanks.
"Hey dad can I go out hunting with Fleur for a little bit, "Harry asked calling into the living room.
"Sure" Lilly called back "Be sure to be back by six though".
"Thanks" Harry called out heading out the front door.
As he walked across the street Harry thought about the future.
He was seriously considering whether or not he should join the army.
His marksman skills were great for his age and he thought that he could make it through the training alright with all the time he spent outside.
But his family could never afford to send him down to Army Training in England unless his Uncle Sirius was willing to help out.
Shaking thoughts of the military out of his head Harry went up and knocked on the Delcour Door.
Before long the door opened to show little eight-year-old Gabrielle Delcour who lit up upon seeing him.
"Hawwy" She squealed hugging him.
"Hey, little one" Harry smiled ruffling her hair "Can you go get your sister for me and see if she wants to go out ".
"Can I go please?"Gabby asked.
"Sorry," Harry said, "You have to be a little bit older before you can go out into the woods with us ok".
"Harry".
Looking to the stairs He saw his good friend Fleur Marie Delcour.
"Hey," Harry said, "You want to go out in the woods for a little bit".
Fleur thought for a second.
"Sure," She said, "Just let me get some better clothes on first".Hurrying up the stairs as she said that.
Standing in the front entryway with Gabby Harry felt content.
Despite whatever may happen in the future he knew he would face it head-on with his friends and family.
Author Notes In this story Harry is the son of a Scottish Fisherman and of pretty lowly and insignificant beginnings.
But he will grow to be someone even bigger
