A/N: I wrote my first Divergent fic, and I think it turned out pretty good :D It's from Caleb's POV. I hope you guys enjoy it :D
I've always been intelligent. I'd get straight A's at school. I love to read, write and learn. So, it didn't shock me when my aptitude was for Erudite.
Although, what did shock me is when Beatrice chose Dauntless. My little sister, transferring from a faction of safety and security to one of non-stop strain against your body. Beatrice will never become a Dauntless girl. I can't see her with the tattoos all over her body, shaved hair, ginormous muscles on her arms. It's just not her.
Who knows, she might not even survive Dauntless initiation. I heard that it's the toughest of them all, something about tons of fighting and facing your fears in a simulation. A lot of initiates don't pass it, and either end up factionless or dead.
I don't even think I can handle the Erudite initiation. We have an enormous amount of studying and preparation to do for the huge exam. If you don't score high enough, you're out. I'm already struggling enough, with the former Dauntless initiates in my dorm, still living by their old faction's rules.
Perhaps Beatrice has changed her attire. She's certainly not going to be in those grey robes anymore. Maybe she cut her hair short? Or got a tattoo? I'm bound to see her eventually, then I can see how different she looks.
I think I look the same in a way. I've started wearing glasses with fake lens, as they're encouraged to enhance how intelligent you seem, but that's about it. Oh, and I wear blue jackets and jeans too. My hair is only a little longer, but the rest of my features haven't changed.
Anyways, I hope Beatrice is doing okay. Dauntless is a very tough faction, and I don't want her to get hurt…or worse.
