Wowie, four in a row? It's a miracle! LOL. Hopefully, it's okay and lives up to your standards...

Ryder often wondered what having a mother felt like. The earliest memory he had of her was her long, flowing brown hair and warm honey eyes. He remembered what his father was like, and he never liked it. His father had greasy, black hair and cold, ice blue eyes. They said his mother died in a car accident, but he knew better. See, his mother was an engineer, a genius like himself. She often worked with dangerous projects that required chemicals and heavy machinery. One day, there was talk of an explosion that happened at the plant she worked in. And she never returned home.

He couldn't blame her for wanting to work semi-dangerous jobs, as he himself had one. He often had his pups looking out after him, following his every move even though he was the leader. They took care of him when things went down south. They watched after him when he had to do something semi-dangerous. They volunteered to do the more dangerous jobs unless their leader had to do it. They did everything in their power to keep him safe from harm.

But they weren't parents. They were just siblings, siblings Ryder had learned how to grow up with. Sure, Skye was like the mother of the group, but she wasn't Ryder's mother. And Chase was a mother hen, but he was like an older brother to Ryder, as weird as it was.

And then there was the townsfolk. Everyone had somewhat adopted Ryder as their own child. There was Jake, Farmer Yumi, Cap'n Turbot, Mayor Goodway, Mr. Porter, and Katie. Katie and Jake were like older siblings he never had. Cap'n Turbot was the crazy uncle everyone wished they had. Mr. Porter and Mayor Goodway were like his parents but in a good way.

Mayor Goodway had black hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her eyes were always warm and full of love. Mr. Porter had graying hair, a brown mustache, and dark brown eyes as well. They too were filled with love and compassion.

Ryder had to smile at the thought. They were always looking out after him too. They were like his mother and father. Sure, they relied on him, but they never expected him to do any dangerous stunts. And, just like the pups, they took care of him when things went down south. They watched after him when he had to do something semi-dangerous. They did everything in their power to keep him safe from everything and everyone.

He remembered when Mayor Humdinger had come one time unannounced and he started talking about how useless of a leader he was since he didn't do all of the work. His pups had pointed out many times when he had to do something dangerous because they couldn't. Mr. Porter stepped in front of Ryder as if to shield him while Mayor Goodway told Mayor Humdinger off. Ever since then, it was only a snide comment here and there.

So while, yes, he didn't have a mother (or a father, really), he had a foster mother and father (especially the father). And he couldn't be happier.

Hopefully, it wasn't too cringy. Lemme know?
