ADRIEN

As soon as she shut the door I wanted to follow her and apologize and thank her. She was right, she was just doing her job and she was right about the other stuff too. She seemed to see things more clearly than me.

But I couldn't think about her long as I remembered the earlier scene. My mother was alive. My mother tried to kill me. I kept repeating that to myself. There was no way that was her. She was dead, I saw her body myself. Why is she down in the tunnels?

I turned around, I was going back down to the tunnels, I was going to find her and try to get some answers.

I moved the sconce and entered the tunnels and krept along the walls, retracing our earlier steps.

"This is a bad idea kid." Plagg said. "You shouldn't be going down here all by yourself."

"I need to get answers Plagg. My mother is down here."

"You don' know that. maybe it was her twin or a shapeshifter."

"No. It was her. I know it was." Plagg just shook his head, "Ok kid."

I knew these tunnels well enough to follow along without the torch, the torch long forgotten lying somewhere withing the halls.

"Plagg, I can't see anything. Claws out."

The change into Cat Noir was instant and I could finally see everything in the hall.

You know, I'm an ancient magical power giving being, not a cheap torch.

"You'll survive Plagg."

I looked down and noticed the dark footseteps that led away from where they encountered His mother.

"What is this?" and I knelt down, inspecting the dark goo on the floor.

It's blood

I rubbed it between my fingers, that was curious. It was blood. Maybe his mother...

"Ladybug!" Cat Noir exclaimed after he realized who it must have been.

"She must've been injured!"

Ha! You didnt even notice. You were to busy sitting there while you let a woman fight your battles. You know, you could really learn a thing or two from-

"Be quiet Plagg."Cat Noir said, standing up and turning around.

Where are we going? I thought we were going to track down your mother.

"We need to make sure Ladybug is alright." I said, feeling the icy hand of guilt wrapping around me.

It was the quickest I had ever moved, leaving the tunnels and bursting out of the throne room. I found her just a few feet down the hallway passed out

"Why didn't she say anything?" I said inspecting her wound

She's the hero kid, she probably didn't want to bother you

I picked her up, slightly worried that she didn't even move, her breath was faint I headed towards my room, not knowing where to take her, he didn't know anyone who could help in this situation.

I placed her gently on my bed when she suddenly detransfrmed, I flinched back, but it was too late, I already saw who it was, Marinette the guard.

"Plagg, detransform" The magic left me standing there and Plagg flew to the cheese stash.

"What do we do Plagg?!" I asked

"Well why don't you ask her?"

"Well, maybe becuse she's unconscious!"

"Not Marinette, her kwami!"

I turned to the unconscious Marinette, of course, she had to have a kwami.

"Where is she?" I asked, waiting for her to just appear out of thin air.

Plagg came over and inspected the situation, "She's trapped."

"Where?"

This isn't a normal sort of wound, this has kwami magic written all over it.

"How do we get her out?"

"Take off the earings, a kwami's bond with the miraculous is stronger than any spell."

I leaned over and gently took out her earings, almost expecting those big blue eyes to open and her to start stuttering. But all that happened was a small red, black spotted bug flew out and collapsed on the bed.

Plagg was at her side immediately, she opened her eyes and they traded a few soft words and Plagg helped her up.

"You're Cat Noir? The prince of Bardengrad?"

I nodded

"You need to help her." she said her voice breaking.

"How can I do that?"

"I'm not sure, she's trapped in unconsciousness, she's stuck in her worst nightmare."

"What can I do?" I asked, "There has to be something!"

I started pacing, it being the only thing I could do to keep my mind off of it. I froze, "The temple!"

Tikki nodded, "That's it!"

His thoughts turned to the temple but his heart dropped, "Only Ladybug can get into the temple. I can't do it without her"

"You have Ladybug!" Tikki said, flying weakly into Adrien's hand with the earrings.

"You can't do that Tikki, you need to recover first!" Plagg said.

Tikki turned to me, "If you can get to the water front without me, I can get you the rest of the way, there isn't any time for me to recover."

"I can get you to the water!" Plagg said, but I shook my head.

"No, you need to stay behind and protect Marinette." I took off my ring and put it on Marinette's hand, "Keep her safe."

I put some cheese and strawberries in my pocket for Tikki and stuck my head outside the door,

"You, guard!"

"Yes your highness?"

"I am feeling unwell and not accepting visitors, keep everyone away for the rest of the night."

"Yes your highness."

With one last look towards Marinette, I took the servants enterance to sneak out of my room and I took the short trek out of the castle to go and when I finally reached the edge of the water Tikki flew out of my pockett.

"Are you ready?" I asked and she nodded.

"Tikki, transform me."

I changed, reveled in the new look, and dived into the water. This time when I entered the temple, there was none of the pagentry, no adventure. I had a mission to fulfill.

I walked straight past the statues without any incident and when I approached the door, one throw of the yo-yo and the doors opened right up for me. Wow, it pays to be Ladybug.

When the doors opened up I was shocked again at the sheer amount of books and I grew slightly disheartened at the daunting task.

"Tikki, detransform me."

The magic left and Tikki flew out, "Any ideas?" I asked

"Start reading."

We split up after a long while of aimlessly flipping through and reading random titles my eyes rested on a very interesting title: "The Destruction Miraculous and it's True Power," I instantly reached out and pulled it off of the shelf when

I started reading and the further I got the more I wished that I had never picked up the book. The book detailed how the destruction miraculous had always been at ends with the creation miraculous, always causing issues.

I flipped through the book in a dejected state when I paused at a page, the illustration showing a cataclysm, it listed the properties and when I scanned through them I stopped instantly.

I moved to where Tikki, was, furiously flipping through the pages.

"I think I've got something." I said.

"What?" tikki asked and I held out the books for her to read.

"Do you have any other ideas? This is the closest I could find to a solution, it might be crazy but it's all we have."

Tikki thought about it and then nodded, "It's our only hope."

Adrien nodded, "Let's go then, Tikki, transform me."
