The next few days in Imani's life were filled with the bad feeling like something oppressive. So to keep her mind off feeling that way she turned to the library. The books couldn't tell her much when all she could go on was fireflies, non english and non american origin magic. Imani knew there were multiple area of magic and different origins but she got a true sense of it now. The amount of books that flew down the the desk when she asked for foreign magic was incredible. They over flowed onto a second desk. Imani just started at them.
"Now you're just being ridiculous." She told the library. She could feel the bookshelves smile.
"Ok get rid of any that don't contain fireflies." She stated. Half the books flew back to their places.
"You've got to be kidding me." Imani sighed. It'd take her days to get through these books between her work at the school and trying to keep this hidden. Her family would want to know why she's spending so much time at the library, and 'brushing up on American history' only worked so many times.

One the brighter side Stiles's reading was still good. She even looked up what could've happened to him and discussed it with Deaton. She didn't know about Scott's changing form or Alison seeing dead relatives. But they had also stopped to. Deaton was just as confused as Imani at Stiles reading troubles. They both had settled on the idea that his brain had forgotten how to read English and was trying to read it as a different language.

School was more normal than ever and Imani now got a true insight to how the American school system worked. She heard whisperings about something called 'mischief night'. Not one of the students would tell her what it was so she turned to Stiles and his friends.
"Stiles come on." Imani said blocking the front door and preventing him from leaving.
"Come on Imani! You and I going to be late for school." He said.
"I don't mind. I'm not a student. And I don't take morning classes I'm just there for maintaining sports equipment in the mornings." Imani smiled sweetly knowing she wouldn't get in trouble but he would. Stiles sighed and gave her a frustrated frown. He looked adorable. He couldn't even call out to his father because he'd already left for the station. Imani tilted her head.
"Alright! Fine! What do you want to know?" Stiles gave up. He never thought he'd see the day when someone could black mail him into giving up information. His dad never could.
"I want to know what mischief night is." Imani said.
"Mischief night is a kind of holiday on which teenagers and kids pull pranks and slightly vandalise. Known under a variety of names." Stiles explained with his hands moving around with a mind of their own.
"What are the other names? Maybe I know it as something different." She said, a thought crossed her mind that Fred and George would love this holiday.
"Uh Mischief night, Devil's night, Gate Night, Goosey Night, Moving Night, Cabbage Night. Don't ask I don't know why it's called Goosey night." He listed. Some of the names rang a bell in Imani's head. She nodded.
"So should I expect to be pranked?" She asked.
"Most definitely. But people generally only prank Coach." He said gaining a cheeky smile.
"Why?" She asked.
"It's his birthday the same day." He chuckled.
"Oh merlin." Imani sighed but she smiled. "Alright thanks." She stepped out the way of her brother and he bolted for his jeep. Thankfully Imani had gone to Hogwarts with Fred and George and was quite close friends with them. She knew a few muggle pranks which she'd shared with the Weasley Twins and they'd put their own magical twist on them. She'd even given them some wizard money to help start their business all she'd asked for in return was some credit on the pranks made from her muggle ideas.

Imani was always aware of her surroundings at Beacon Hills High. Not doubt some of the kids would love to pranks her, especially since she was new and from England. Imani knew mischief night wasn't until a couple days later but she was still careful. When the night of mischief night rolled around she realised Stiles had snuck out his room and his jeep was gone. Imani knew he'd do something to Coach and not her because she'd warned him about some friends at her school who'd help her with getting him back with interest. The reason why he followed her request and knew he'd do something to coach was he'd asked for her keys.

"Please Imani please. Look I'm begging ok? I'm begging you. Please let me borrow your keys."
"No Stiles I'm not giving you my keys to mess up the school." Imani said. She was busy making their dinner.
"I don't need all of them just one. Just one little key." Stiles said.
"Which key?" Imani asked suspicious. She felt she already knew the answer.
"The key… to… coach's office…" Stiles said slowly. He did not take his eyes off his sister. He knew how annoying Coach could be when he was a coach so he wondered what is was like for Imani to work technically for him. Imani stared back mulling over her options. If she gave the key coach would be pranked, it couldn't lead back to a break in, it was a regular key so no electronic logs would she it was hers. But she'd be breaking a rule of giving a key to a student. But it wasn't like she hadn't broken school rules before.
"Ah azkaban." She muttered under her breath "Here." She took the keys from her pocket and took it off the keyring. Stiles reached for it and she pulled it out of reach. "It comes back to my hand when you're done with it. I don't care if I'm asleep, driving or doing a handstand. It comes back to my hand." Stiles nodded in agreement. She gave it to him and he jumped for joy out of the room.

"What have I done?" Imani asked.

Locker room 12:15am

"Get your ass down here now. We've got a job to do." Stiles said to Scott going to his sports locker getting the tools he'd stashed there during the day.
"Dude I'm already in bed. And aren't we getting a little old for this?" Scott's voice said through the phone.
"We do this for Coach."
"I thought we did this to coach."
"Whatever ok? You know he needs this. He lives for this stuff. He loves it." Stiles tried to pep Scott up into joining him.
"But it's the middle of the night."
"12:15 actually. Which means it's after midnight and officially mischief night/day." Stiles tested the drill he had "And by perfectly awesome coincidence, it also happens to be coach's birthday. So if you are not down here in five seconds, I will destroy you. Ok? And I mean five, four, three, two… yeeee!"
"One." Scott said with his eyes shining red.
"I hate you." Stiles said from his spot on the floor.
"How are we getting into Coach's office? Don't tell me I'm breaking in. I don't want to claw down the door." Scott asked after hearing Stiles's plan.
"Don't worry already got that figured out." Stiles said holding up the key. Scott recognised it as a staff key.
"How'd you get that? Did you steal it?" Scott asked.
"Well you know it pays to have siblings that work here." He said smiling.
"You stole Imani's key?!" Scott was stunned.
"Dude no she gave it to me. Under to the provisor that I give it straight back and that there were no pranks pulled on her or she'd get me back. With interest." Stiles said he got a little concerned about the 'with interest' part. He hadn't known her to pull a prank but he also got the feeling that she was not to be messed with if you pissed her off. Scott was surprised.
"Look it's coach we're talking about it didn't take that much convincing to get her to hand it over." Stiles continued. It was this that made Scott nod.

Imani

The next day Imani arrived to the school around the same time as Stiles and as she walked in saw the twins talking to Scott. She frowned why would they be back? On her walk into the building she answered her own question. Of course they'd be back, they were no longer Alphas, they weren't even Betas. They were Omegas. They'd need a pack to stay alive considering all the people they would've pissed off. But looking back at the group now formed, it seemed that Stiles and Isaac had that under control.

Imani had to get something from the main office and saw the twins walk in. She was surprised but if Scott was as diplomatic as ever he'd give them a chance to redeem themselves. But they'd have to prove it. Now it seemed that them proving it was going back to school.

On her way back to her office area she dodged kids left, right and centre. They were going nuts. It didn't help it was also halloween. Imani then felt her phone vibrate. She got her phone from her back pocket to see it was from Braeden.
'Package is back in Beacon Hills.'
Imani smiled relieved. She felt better with Peter and Derek back in Beacon Hills.

Imani was heading towards the sports equipment room, which took her passed coach's office and the adjoining classroom. She didn't think much of it. But as she was in line with coach's door she heard a loud crash of multiple things hitting the floor. She paused at the classroom door waiting to hear more.

"Son of a bitch!" Imani jumped at the coach's loud voice. Imani struggled not to laugh. She stepped forwards looking through the little window in the door to see Stiles and Scott at the front. Scott noticed her first. He turned and nudged Stiles who had a shit eating grin. Stiles turned to look at him who nodded to the door and saw his sister. Imani rolled her eyes at her brothers face, he was clearly very proud of himself. But Imani couldn't hide her own smile and gave a quick thumbs up to her brother. Stiles's grin widened. It was then that coach left his office slamming the door shut and Imani briskly walked down the hall. Little did Stiles know that Imani had also left a gift for coach on his desk. She'd seen one from possibly a student and placed hers to the side. Stiles was stunned that he'd broken the gift that Greenberg had gotten him. Clearly trying to get in coach's good graces before lacrosse season. Coach then saw Imani's gift in a very similar box. Coach then made the class laugh more when he was very cautious and got a student to open it.
"It says happy birthday from Ms S.P." The student said. Some students had been calling Imani that because of her last name and Stiles knew it. He immediately sat to attention waiting to see the gift inside the box. The student pulled out a mug with a funny picture of coach in the middle of one of his not so inspiring sport speeches. The students chuckled but what got Stiles laughing was that the mug had 'World's Best Athlete' with 'Athlete' crossed off in red and 'Coach' written in the same colour underneath. Coach took the present and the card stashing it in his draw.

Imani's walk down the hall was disturbed when she heard buzzing. It was similar to insects, like a fly. Looking around she realised that there was no actual insect. Imani frowned but continued her day on high alert for anything out of the ordinary.

It was later in the day that she got a call from her father.
"Imani look I need you to keep an eye out for a man that escape custody today." Her father was serious and didn't sound happy.
"Who?"
"His name is William Barrow and he went in for surgery but escaped while he was on the operating table. He's known as the shrapnel bomber. He detonated a bomb on a school bus killing four teens and maiming another." He told her. Fear gripped Imani's stomach, fear for the school and everyone in it. Her father, deputies and Scott's FBI father showed up soon after that phone call and staff were being briefed on how to handle the situation. All staff were to let the nearest law enforcement officer of they saw Barrow or any kind of bomb.

She saw her father a head and her brother walking away with his friends.
"Dad what's happening?" She asked. From the look of her stature he knew she meant business.
"Barrow woke from anaesthetic. We don't know how. The tumour they were going to remove burst with live flies coming out of it." He said. Imani blinked rapidly. Flies.
"Ok not what I thought you were going to say. And ew." Imani said.
"I need you to keep an eye out but please don't go near this guy." He said.
"I won't." Imani promised but in her head she knew she would go near him to protect the teenagers. It was then that her father needed to go to continue the search. Not long after she saw her father and all the officers leaving.
"Hey are you guys leaving?" Imani asked. The tension was still in the air. In Imani's opinion you couldn't rock up to the school running around saying there was a bomber nearby and then suddenly leave without explanation.
"We've searched the buildings and grounds and can't find Barrow. He's not here." Her father said. "We need to go back to where he was last spotted and go from there. But please don't let your guard down. Call me if you see anything. I mean anything." Her father stressed.
"I will I promise." Imani nodded and headed back inside trying rangle students. As she was doing so all Imani could hear was the buzzing but it wasn't faint any more like when one fly is somewhere in the same room but you couldn't figure where it was. It was louder like there was a swarm of flies right next to Imani. She saw her brother and father right as he was leaving.
"We're leaving a deputies here. The school's on lock down till 3:00pm. Nobody goes in, nobody goes out. Buddy that's the best I got right now. That's the best I can give you Stiles." Her father said. His hands were tied and she could tell even he wasn't happy about it. Stiles's panicking form told her that someone knew Barrow was close which put her on edge to.
"You're leaving me here. That is now… that is the worst." He called out.
"Hey Stiles it's going to be ok." Imani said making Stiles jump. "It'll be alright. Everyone knows to look out for Barrow, the other staff and I have told everyone to avoid him or anything strange. The deputies dad left are a good thing." Imani reasoned. Some of the tension left Stiles's body but not all of it.
"You're right. It's just I've read and heard about Barrow's case. It's messed up." He said Imani stepped forwards and gave him a hug.
"Come on inside." Imani said and led him back. "Look why don't you go and find Scott?" She asked. It made Stiles turn.
"Why?" He asked.
"Because he's your best friend… he's probably as freaked out as you. You know all the procedures with the police you can let him know that the police have a lead, and some deputies were left just in case." Imani said and Stiles relaxed he thought she knew something about werewolves.
"Yeah, yeah ok." He said and walked off to find Scott. Imani saw Stiles face as he walked off and saw he was already forming a plan of finding Barrow and stopping him. She smiled sometimes all Stiles needed was calm voice to get his thoughts in order so he could come up with something hopefully brilliant.

Now all Imani had to do was find Barrow to and hopefully along the way find the source of the buzzing. She made her way to the library and found a corner to sit on the floor and got her wand out. She gently held it in her hand which rested on her lap. Her eyes turned purple as they closed trying to get a sense of any magic and when she came up short tried to get a sense of Barrow she knew he was most likely nuts, a bomber, bleeding and not a student. That gave her enough to go off of. The world around her shrunk to her magic and senses. She didn't very far thought because the fire alarm went off. One of the bells was right above her. She jumped out of her trance covering her ears wincing.

"Argh! Merlin!" Imani swore. Her eyes had returned to normal instantly. Replacing the wand into her pocket she got up and started moving students out of the library. She hated that she couldn't just go and find Stiles but she was an employee of the school.
She was doing her last walk of the library when she saw the Japanese girl Kira. She seemed sweet but lonely. Moving to a new school would do that to you. She gently bent and removed one of Kira's ear phones. Kira looked up startled. Imani smiled softly in greeting. Kira's face turned to a frown when she heard the alarm.
"How loud are you playing music?" Imani asked. Kira looked around confused not fully comprehending what the alarm meant yet.
"Come on. Let's go. That's the alarm." Imani said gesturing that Kira needed to start moving now. Kira followed her gesture and swiftly left the building.
Imani moved to the door and turned surveying it once again. She got the feeling of eyes on her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She was about to turn and go back into the library when someone called out her name telling her to hurry so they could count everyone. Imani let it go and got outside. She didn't see Stiles anywhere nearby so she got into her car and drove home, since it was 3pm school was over. Imani didn't know why the alarm was pulled when school was going to be over so soon anyway.

Imani went up to her room and had seen Stiles's jeep in the driveway. Imani went straight to her room passing his on the way.
"What do the different coloured strings mean?" She heard Lydia say. Imani blinked once at hearing the girls voice but continued. She put her bag down, took off her lanyard with her key ring and placed it on her bed side draws. She heads back to Stiles room when she heard Lydia.
"Did you get detention for pulling the alarm?" Lydia asked.
"Yep. Every day this week." Stiles said looking at his wall.
"Stiles." Imani making him jump and run for the door.
"Imani hey!" He said blocking her from coming in.
"Did I hear you got detention? Again?" She asked.
"Uh yeah. Mischief night." He shrugged. She rolled her eyes she knew it had nothing what so ever to do with mischief night.
"Hey Imani." Lydia said waving from behind Stiles helping obscure Imani's view of his walls.
"Hi Lydia how are you?" She asked.
"I'm good." Lydia responded. There was an awkward pause.
"Ok so all I'm going to say is make sure dad doesn't find out you pulled the alarm." Imani said backing away having not been able to see anything that helped her. Imani moved to the kitchen and started on some pasta. She had only just started when Stiles and Lydia ran from the house.
"Hey! Where are you going? Dad's gonna be pissed you're running around with Barrow on the loose!" Imani called heading to the open door. She paused clearly they hadn't heard her or if they had they weren't listening. "Do want any pasta?" Imani called. No answer.
"Alright pasta is off." She trudged back into the kitchen and turned of the stove, tipping the water from the pot into the sink. Put everything away quickly she ran to her room and got changed into her black clothes. She sat on her floor and got her wand out again. This time she wasn't restricting it to the school she was going over the entire of Beacon Hills which would make it harder. She kept her eyes open and they turned purple.

She was making a bit of progress it was slow but progress when she was interrupted for the second time that day. This time it wasn't an alarm it was Lydia's banshee scream. Dropping her wand Imani's hands flew to her ears. Her face screwed up in pain from the onslaught of sound. The scream stopped and Imani recovered.
"Damn it Lydia." She muttered but as she removed her hands a new sound entered them. It was a buzzing. Not from bugs but an electronic buzzing. Like from old light bulbs.

Imani entered her trance again but followed the sound of electricity and it lead to a substation. She left her trance and stood up grabbing her apparating pendant. Keep her eyes purple she apparated and landed outside the substation. She saw Scott's bike and Stiles's jeep already there but thankfully she was in shadows. She quickly saw through a window and apparated in there. The sound of electricity covering up the sound of her apparating. She made her way through the building following the sounds. She stopped just shy of a door way seeing Kira tied up and Scott on the ground shaking with Barrow holding a very big live wire.
"She's not the one you want." Scott said. Imani was stunned how did she get the live wire away from Barrow? She couldn't hit him he'd drop it and it'd land on Kira or hitting something metal attached to Kira. She could wengardium leviosa it either because Barrow had a firm grip on the wire.
"Don't. Stop! No!" Scott said trying to get to Kira. Imani's mind was racing what spell could she fire to get Barrow to stop?
To late Barrow touched Kira with the wire producing an incredible light. Imani shielded her eyes. Electricity was flying throughout the room blowing up components. Imani threw a protego around herself just in case and briefly glimpsed Barrow falling to the ground. As the flashing eased and less electricity was flying around the room Imani saw the energy and electricity heading towards something. It was heading to Kira. To her hands, she was absorbing it. Beacon Hills was plunged into darkness.

The bad feeling Imani got from the nemeton a few nights before returned. Imani thought this resolving of Barrow would ease it but it returned stronger. Imani turned her head and got a sense of it from the nemeton again. Seeing everything would be find she apparated to the nemeton. It was time to sort out where this feeling was coming from and what from what origin this new magic came. She walked forwards and slowly, tentatively placed her wand hand on the nemeton. She bowed her head and searched it gently not wanting to upset the power it held. After a few moments Imani's head raised.

.

.

"Japanese?" She asked.
