A/N: This was written for CrimsonGoldQueen for the July Monthly One-shot exchange. First time writing Ginny, she's probly not characterized well. Also first time writing femslash. Yeah.

Enjoy.

Luna heard footsteps. Quiet footsteps. Then shouting. Pleas of mercy. She arose from her bed and walked slowly out into the hall so as to not wake anyone.

She then heard a set of heavier footsteps. She started to quicken her pace. She began running.

She stopped when she saw the blood splattered across the wall.

She saw two figures in the distance: one was on the ground, clearly the one who'd been wounded. The other stood over them, a dagger silhouetted in their hand. They wore shadowy clothing, so no part of them showed, all except a pale hand. They dropped the weapon and ran down the hall at the sight of Luna, and disappeared into the night.

Luna stepped around the polls of blood that dotted the corridor and knelt next to the fallen. Whom she found nearly shocked her: it was Ginny.

"Ginny? Are you there?" she calmly asked the red-haired girl she'd shared most of her life with.

Ginny abruptly coughed out more blood, turning her red nightgown even redder. She tilted her head to meet Luna's eyes. "Luna?"

Luna nodded. "I heard you in my bedroom. The shadow man...he did this?"

Ginny nodded weakly. "I don't know why. I thought he was the one. We slept together and everything. Fully clothed, of course. He was ranting at me about being too weak, too foolish. I yelled back at him. He then pulled a knife on me, so I had to run. I had nowhere to go, and he got me here, and it was agonizing-" she coughed again, sitting up abruptly. When she lay her head back down, it was into Luna's arms.

"Ginny, please lay back. I can help you." Luna was a skilled medic, and knew how to heal people, both physically and emotionally.

"No, you can't. He broke my heart, Luna. I can't come back from that. He tore my blood out of me and it now it decorates these walls, and me. I can't live on knowing that he still is there. Even if you heal my wound, it won't do a bloody thing to save me." Ginny began crying, her tears mixing with the blood.

"Ginny, you can't give up. Just stay with me for a few moments longer. Please." Luna was also starting to tear up. Ginny had been a friend to her for forever, and she'd always hoped they could be something more. She couldn't possibly let her die, not when she didn't know her feelings for her.

"Why, Luna? What do I have left here? What?!" Ginny's Codie was fading, but it was still frantic.

"You have me." And that's when Luna lifted Ginny's head up gently and pressed her lips to hers.

The kiss tasted like blood mixed with sugar and lilac. It was pleasant, but also didn't feel quite right at first. Perhaps it as the way that Ginny was so surprised, or the fact that she was dying. But she soon gave in to it, closed her eyes, and kissed Luna back. They held each other for a moment until Luna slowly pulled away. "Do you feel better now?" she asked, her voice light.

Ginny nodded. She weakly lifted her arm up and tucked a loose hair that had fallen in Luna's face. "Thank you," she was able to whisper while smiling, before her body shut down from the blood loss and her heart stopped, her eyes shutting just before.

Luna sat there, her dead friend, no her dead love, in her arms. She knew that Ginny didn't die heartbroken. That was all the consolation she needed. She sat there, letting her tears fall onto Ginny's freckled, blood-stained face, onto her sweet, silent lips.
