"Do you think I look nice Harry Potter?" Nagini asked, preening around him to admire her new haircut.
"Yes, your hair really suits you." More than suits you, Nagini looked cuter than ever with her long hair trimmed, curled and dyed an auburn red colour.
They had just come back from Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and the barber shop, when they were stopped in their tracks by two familiar blonde purebloods.
Harry felt his hand curling into a fist. Just because of their mother, Narcissa's one act of kindness: letting Hermione do the CPR on Harry's unconscious dead body, now both Malfoy men got away with being Death Eaters during the war.
Damn, if he didn't hate both their haughty faces and how smug they were to still be free after the war.
"Potter, we meet again," Draco said.
"Yeah, too bad, it's not in Azkaban!" Harry said.
The elder Malfoy narrowed his eyes. Then Lucius's gaze turned to Nagini and the older blonde's lips curled into a dark smirk. "Say don't I know you?"
Nagini shrank back instinctively and Harry put a protective arm around her. "No, I don't think you do. She's new here."
"That's odd, I could've sworn she's the doppelganger of Voldemort's snake." Lucius examined her face again, which was recognizable even with her new haircut. "Nagini isn't it? Although I remember you with black hair."
"Stay away from her," Harry warned and stepped in front of Nagini. He could feel her hand shaking.
"Oh don't mind me, but if you are wandering around with Voldemort's last horcruxe, do expect trouble."
"That's funny, considering you said you don't work for Voldemort anymore. Maybe I should take you down to the Ministry with that statement?" Harry glanced between Draco and his father. "I fancy there's still enough room in Azkaban for the lot of you."
"How dare you speak to my father like that!" Draco said. "He's innocent!"
"You and your father are about as innocent as a pair of thieves in a black market selling knock-off Gucci watches!"
"The cheek of him! How dare he!" Draco got out his wand but Lucius held him back. "Not now son, he's the savior, we can't risk attacking the wizarding world's precious boy!"
Draco sneered and put away his wand but not before grimacing and spitting at Harry.
At this point in time, Nagini, who very much disliked the Malfoys even when living with Voldemort, decided to turn into her snake form and had her fangs out ready to bite Malfoy for attacking her new master.
Harry felt shell shocked and time slowed down as he tried to prevent the attack. Knowing that Nagini would either be put down at the vet or sent to Azkaban, depending on the Ministry's mood today. Lucius Malfoy had already done this once with Hagrid's pet hippogriff and they all know how that turned out.
"Gina don't! If you eat them, they could lock you away too!" Harry used the Immobulus charm to send Nagini crashing back to the ground, barely missing Draco's pencil neck.
"As I thought! So it is Nagini!" Lucius said with an even more smug look on his face.
Draco laughed despite almost becoming snake meat. "Nice move, Potter, you've given yourselves away! Now it's only a matter of time before Voldemort comes to collect what's his!"
Harry quickly gathered up Nagini's snake body into the air, out of the reach of the two Malfoys.
"You can tell your master that I'm not giving up anything. And if you two and him want to come after me or my pet snake, well, then I guess I'll be seeing you around." He added right before he apparated him and Nagini. "But don't expect me to let either of you get away this time. Or Voldemort alive."
Harry savoured the surprised and angry looks on the Malfoys faces before they disappeared with a pop.

Once they had apparated back to Grimmauld Place, Harry waved his wand at Nagini to remove the Immobulus charm.
Immediately, Nagini began to slither off the floor and onto the couch before hissing once and turning back into her human form.
Harry Potter stared at his new companion, whom he had trusted in his very own home, with a look of pure disappointment.
"How could you do that Gina?"
"Do what?" Nagini blinked innocently. "I protected my master!"
"Nagini you almost killed Draco, I saw you lunge for him with your teeth out."
"Younger Malfoy insulted and spat at you, he deserved to die," she said matter of factly like it was completely normal to kill people on the street.
Harry moved towards her on the sofa and shook her by the shoulders. "Gina you can't go around killing people and I'm not your master. When are you going to understand that?"
Nagini blinked back tears in confusion. "I don't understand. I thought Harry Potter wanted to be my new master since he took me in?"
"No, Gina, I took you in out of sympathy since you had nowhere else to go. I don't even know what you mean by having a master but I want no part of it."
"You mean you don't want me here?"
"I didn't say that." Harry scratched at his neck. "It's just time for you to grow up, like what are you 25?"
Nagini got up from sofa. "No, I heard Harry Potter loud and clear. You don't want me here."
"Gina, stop, just sit down."
"No, I'm leaving." With tears running down her cheeks, she sprinted to the nearest chimney and threw in floo powder before Harry could stop her.
"Nagini! Come back! Wait!"
Great, Merlin, what had he done? He'd chased Nagini away by being too harsh on her and now he had no idea where she was or who might get or kill her while she was out there unprotected. What if the Malfoys captured her or brought her back to Voldemort? Shit, shit, Voldemort might even regain his immortality.
"NAGINI!"
