Overwatch: Duty Towards The Future

Chapter 1: Into The Future! Mach Is Born

Japan, Year Unknown

In the streets of Japan, there was an old, abandoned facility that was unoccupied for a long time. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. As a spider was crawling on the ground, a footstep only crushed the insect, a dark chuckle being heard.

Inside a man was looking around. Looking for parts and equipment. He seemed to be trying to find something as he scavenges the area. Seemingly though, he didn't seem alone. Behind him were a few soldiers and what looks like a cloaked man with a skull mask. "Hurry up…" the cloaked man said.

They moved a few old mechanical stuff until one soldier found a panel. Curious, he flipped the panel, only for the wall to open causing all of the soldiers to aim their guns at the wall to make sure there are no surprises. "No funny business professor…. Otherwise, my men will eliminate you." He threatened.

They approached the room and they saw a large room filled with large pods, the same size meant for people as the pods were mounted on the walls. The cloaked man looked around before turning to his men and nodding. They nodded back as they went towards the pods and began to open them. Inside were more of odd supplies, tech, equipment and more stuffed inside it.

"So… These are the relics of the forgotten past?" The cloaked man noted, turning to the professor. "Well done, Professor… though…" He brings out twin black, custom made shotguns as he points it to the professor. "Your service is no longer needed…."

"R-Reaper! Please don't!" the professor pleaded.

"Boss, you might want to look at this!"

The Reaper turned his head as he forces the professor to follow. They were introduced were a wall filled with robots, each one having a head of a cobra, spider, or bat but, each one looked too damaged to ever be used again, until they saw another one, this was in the middle was a yellow and black robot. It's theme looks a bit distorted by on the label of the pod said one thing.

Paradox.

The Reaper looked at the thing closer, before turning to the professor. "Good luck… You're still required… Activate it." He demanded.

The professor nodded as he went over towards the pod and began to type away, but after a bit the pod glowed slightly as the odd robot inside began to shift. Then suddenly, it reached its arms out of the pod, grabbing the professor and snapping his neck before walking out. It turned to the Reaper and his men.

"And you are?" The robot demanded.

"My one way ticket to take down a group." He replied.

Paradox looked at them for a moment before he laughed. "Me working for you? I never work for humans!"

His horns and eyes glowed before they noticed the other machines in the pods began to twitch and began punching the pods. Once gaining enough strength, they broke the pods and began to jump off, the soldiers aiming their guns at the machines and Paradox.

The Reaper sighed, cracking his neck, and in an instant, black smoke covered him completely as only bits and pieces of him showed up, along with several shots from his weapons going everywhere. While his men were able to dodge in time, the robots suffered and fell apart easily, Paradox looking at the human, surprised by his power. He then laughed as he took in some shots, literally absorbing the energy.

He marched up the Reaper who dropped his two guns and brought out two more before dodging an attack. However, Paradox wasn't aiming for him as the machine grabbed the two discarded guns and they went inside his body. It then lifted it arms as they became larger version of the Reaper's guns. "My turn."

They began to fire upon each other, not giving one an inch until Reaper was shot, but though while it did hit him, Paradox noticed his body became ethereal floating around him, and even surprised him before he dropped his ethereal form. "You're… different from any normal human…." He noted, before concealing his gun. "You have my interest….. What did you want?" He asked the Reaper, hiding the power he is about to use on them.

"To help us rid a group that is trying to stop my organization." He answered, guns still aimed at Paradox.

Paradox pondered for a moment. If the cursed Rider was no longer existed and the way the place is now, it must mean centuries have gone by. No more Riders means he can finally achieve what he should have done all those years ago. "Thank you for the info…" Suddenly, he then casted out energy all around them as the soldiers, even Reaper could barely move. They only move a single hand as the bullets were now in front of Paradox. He simply moved aside before looking at the men. "Goodbye." he aimed at the generator and shot it, causing it to malfunction as he then shoot the ceilings in all directions.

Paradox laughed as he left them in the Slowdown. After he leaves, everything begins to move again as the ceiling collapses on them all. Though, out from the cracks came black smoke as it formed back the Reaper, growling in anger as he looks around. "Looks like, another problem to deal with…." He groaned before leaving.

But after he did, the portion of the wall where the generator was collapses, revealing another pod, but this one though, showed what looks like a human inside it. It opened up as the human fell onto his knees, panting heavily as he looks around, confused. "Where…. Am I?" He asked himself.

(Insert Opening - World End - Code Geass R2 Opening 2 - NateWantsToBattle Ver)

There is a light at my world's end, There's nothing left now to defend

As the song starts, we see Cody standing along what looks like to be a field, overlooking the plains and the city out in the distance. A smile on his face as he begins to race towards the city.

It flies off in the wind

As Cody races towards the city, several Signal Bikes and Shift Cars are racing behind him. As he keeps running, the title card appears, shining brightly before the Signal Bikes and Shift Cars races towards it, flying right through it as the screen turns white.

I can't get by pretending it's okay

The screen then comes back to Cody, relaxing in the Overwatch HQ, as Tracer appears, teasing him by fiddling with his hair. Mercy from afar giggles at this while Winston sighs, working on something as it sparks in his face.

I can't help us so this is our last day

It then shifts to Lucio jamming to his music before D. Va pops in, taking off his headphones and running around, with the said person trying to chase after her. Only to stop and see Reinhardt standing there, arms crossed before scolding them. As Mei sighs slightly from their antics.

Everything was stolen from me, In a world that wouldn't change

We then see Hanzo, meditating under some cherry blossom trees as Genji is sitting right behind him, a small smile appear on Hanzo's face. Before shifting towards Zenyatta, giving a speech at some sumit as Zarya keeps guard over him.

What's this song that I have been singing, A song of colors turned to gray

It then changes towards an alley as smoke blooms in it, and appearing from it was none other than Reaper, along with Widowmaker, Talon, and several more shrouded by the darkness.

Everything is bright

Back at the HQ, the alarm goes off as Tracer, Winston and Mercy races off towards it, as Cody follows behind them, lifting up Signal Mach.

It's time to let my shattered dreams, Become this world's reality

It then changes to an all-out brawl as Tracer is fighting against Windowmaker, with Lucio backing her up. Then changes to Genji and Hanzo, unleashing their dragon attacks with D. Va jumping out of her mech that quickly self-destructs, besting Talon's forces.

It's the end for me

We then see Cody, now in Mach's armor as he strikes, shoots and deflects every attack at him as he changes into Dead-Heat, Chaser and another shadowy form as he gets close to Reaper.

There is a light at my world's end, There's nothing left now to defend

It then changes back to Cody running towards somewhere, as the screen quickly pans out to show the rest of the heroes of Overwatch who still remained heroes. Each one smiling or determined as they race off towards their location.

Now I can see, There's nothing left for me

As they keep running, it pans to show not only a newly made Overwatch Headquarters, but a more brightful future as the sun shines on the HQ's tower. It then slowly cuts back towards Cody, now looking up at the night sky as the title card appears one last time.

[A few hours earlier]

[Japan, 2016]

A new day came and went in Japan as a young man walked around the huge city. A smile on his face and a small bag around him. He looked around 25 years of age, messy dirty blonde hair and very bright blue eyes, as he looked caucasian descent.

He wears a bright red shirt, with a fiery design to it, black hoodie on top, blue pants and black boots. He was carrying several bags around him, while what looks like to be listening to some music. This young man is Cody Aldrich, a young american who's on a trip in Japan. He smiled brightly as he looked in his bag again to see a small toy inside. "Finally… After a year, I finally completed my Mach collection." He sighed.

He may be an adult but he loved the show. His favorite character from the series was Shijima Go and Drive was just an amazing series overall. Yet after awhile, he was able to not only purchase all of the Signal Bikes, but also the Shift Cars too! Minus of course Shift Tridoron, since that's Drive's final form and Shift Heart Ron since that belong to Heart. And right now, he was just traveling around, looking for something else to do here.

Being in Japan was fun since he got to explore the sights, trying out the food, even going to stores to see some stuff any otaku would buy. Although, when he went to a manga store once time and helped a girl when she couldn't grab a manga from the top shelf.

"Ah! Thank you mister!" she smiled.

He smiled, "No problem." He said. "Take care okay?" But as he was about to leave, he felt someone grabbing him, he turns to see the girl smiling at him.

"Actually… I think you would be perfect!" She then handed him a small brochure. "How would you like to be part of a special project for the government?" She asked him.

He blinked as he looks at the brochure. "Is there a catch?" He asked. He knows that there is always a catch when it comes to something like this. She smirked before placing a large sum of money in his hand. "You'll get paid." she stated.

He gawked upon the amount of money. "Th-This is a lot of money…" He gawked before looking at her. "I-Is this for real?"

"Real as it can be. Though, this is just half of what you'll make." she smiled. "So, do we have a deal?" She asked, holding out her hand.

'Half!? Is this was half of the amount…' He then imagined how many stuff he could buy and such. As well as paying off some debts and more. "Alright… I'm in." He agreed, shaking her hand.

The girl smiled brightly. "That's great! Now, would you please follow me then?" She gestured as she walks towards the back of the store. He blinked before he decided to follow her to the back of the store. In the back was what looked like several empty pods. All very high tech grade, as if something from a sci-fi story.

In the back was what looked like a prepared and ready pod, already open up and jestering to him. "So… what is this project?" Cody asked her.

"We are conducting an experiment to see how cryogenics can work."

"Uh… isn't that done already before?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, but now, we're testing to see how well the speci-I mean, person can be preserved. Cause as you know, while people can be cryogenically frozen, they can't be revived back… Though now, we believe we have the solution." She explained.

"Are you sure about that…?" Cody asked, rather concerned. "I mean, you this is a project then why ask me when you could try it on an animal or something?"

"We have. Now it's on humans." she then points to see a few employees using a hot towel on a monkey. "Now, step in and we can start."

He looked at the pod and gulped before he placed his bags down and entered the pod and turned around. But upon seeing her, he then sees a very devious grin. "Thank you for donating your body sir…" she said, pressing the button as the door quickly shuts on him.

He gasped as he tried to get out but cold air began to surround him, making him shiver. To which slowly became that of a lukewarm feeling before everything went black for him. The girl turns towards her staff. "Get him in the secret area. I'm sure the black market can use his organs later… We need to make sure we aren't caught, understood?"

They nodded before they moved the pod to the other room. The girl smirks, about to head to her office, but before she did, there was a quick shake of the ground. It stopped for a moment before it came back up, rocking the whole area… But it wasn't just the area. The entire world began to shake… as if something was about to happen, only for the shaking to stop…. Along with a single white light appearing on the planet.

[Centuries later, Japan, Year XXX]

Outside near the abandon building stood two figures. One was a female, 26 years of age. Wearing a orange jumpsuit, brown jacket and a device on her chest. She had short, spiky brown hair and wearing orange goggles. Next to her was what looked like a gorilla, though a bit bigger than usual ones, and wearing armor, a jet back and glasses.

"So, this is the place Winston?" The girl asked her gorilla friend, looking around at the damage.

"Yes, Tracer. This is the origin of the unknown energy." He nodded as the two were walking on the rubble. However as their progress continues, they saw bodies of certain soldiers all too familiar to Winston. "These are some of Reaper's men."

"Why would Talon be here? This building was closed off centuries ago…. Right around the Forgotten Era." Tracer noted.

"If the energy source was here then it must be the rea-" his foot landed on something in. Which he looked down to see a machine with the head of a bat but it had bullet holes. "Strange… never seen these type of machines before." He observed, lifting up the machine. "It almost looks like an android."

"Weird…. What could've happened to them?" She questioned. "And just what are these? Cryo Pods?" She questioned, running her hand across the device.

He examined the machine, seeing this unknown, he knew this should be examined at base. He took notice of more machines similar to it. "Seems that Talon soldiers were killed by these machines."

Tracer looked around until she sees one open pod. "Winston!" She called out. The gorilla walked over to the open pod. "Seems one was able to wake up though…" she noted.

"Hm…" He pondered as he pressed a few keys on his arm. "Athena? Scan the pod and tell us if you can track whatever was in this thing? And do it so that the police won't take notice…" He asked into his arm.

"Gladly," a feminine voice replied. It then began to scan the pod for a few moments as Tracer kept watch knowing that the machines were littered around the area, making sure they don't come back. She saw one broken pod having words in which she wiped away the rubble.

"Paradox…?" She muttered.

"Hm? Something wrong Tracer?" Winston asked her.

"This name, why does it sound familiar…?" She wondered. "Can you ask Athena about the name?"

"Athena. Can you research this?" He asked her.

The AI began to search through anything related about the name until a ding rang out. "Analysis complete… It seems this was a cryo pod meant for humans… But seems that it was just a ruse to capture unsuspecting humans and be used as black market material. Usually for harvesting organs." Athena explained.

"Something is strange." Winston muttered. "These machines, Talon soldiers, and something for Black Market dealers and this Paradox? This doesn't make any-"

"Doesn't make what?"

Winston sniffed the air, "Tracer… Someone is alive." He informed. The two looked around, keeping guard with weapon ready. They slowly walked as Winston lead Tracer to the source. They then heard a groan but it didn't sound like any of Talon soldiers since the rubble already killed them.

Winston approached a pod that was on the ground before he lifted it up. There they saw a civilian who looks injured. Tracer gasp, Blinking towards him. "Is he alright?" She asked, Winston scanning him.

"Seems, he's suffering from Cryo Stasis Rejection… If we don't get him to a medic soon, he could develop worst problems…" Winston said, picking up the injured person. "Contact Mercy in the Carrier. Have her prep a room." He ordered Tracer. She nods as she contacts for a pick up, and as they wait, they begin to hear the sirens from soon to be police.

"Great… I thought we would've been out of here before they showed up…." Winston sighed. "Tracer let's go and grab that machine." He pointed at the bat-like android.

"Gotcha," she nodded as she tried to lift it up. "Bloody hell this is heavy."

With Winston's help the two carried the injured person and the machine out of the scene to rendezvous with Mercy. The large transportation ship flies down as they enter it quickly. As it begins to lift off, the camo filed activates as they fly off away, from the scene.

Standing there near a small table was a very beautiful woman, with blonde hair, white outfit, a halo and wings. "So, this is the patient?" Mercy asked, as Winston placed the young man on her medical table.

"He is going through Cryo Stasis Rejection." He informed as he placed down the machine they grabbed, its body slowly sliding to the ground with an audible thud. "And that is something I want to know." He pointed at the machine.

"I see… I shall have him up and running in no time." Mercy smiled, walking over to her medical tray and grabbed what she needed to help out this man. "These clothes though…. They look so…. Ancient… Where did you find him?"

"Found him by a Cryo Pod along with dead Talon Soldiers. The bullet holes on the other machines like that one were found as well. They fought but there was only 19 found when there are 22 Pods. One being this man and the other… It said Paradox."

"I see…. That would explain the Rejection…" she noted, using her tool to heal him slowly. "Any idea who he is? Any record or ID of him?" She asked, turning towards Tracer who was fiddling with some of her equipment.

"Well I found this in his pocket." She showed a wallet and tossed it to Winston. "Fell out when you picked him up."

"A wallet? He stills carries something so outdated?" Winston said, surprised, looking through it, but accidentally rips through it. "Uh…. Oops…." He chuckled before picking up the young man's license. "Hmm… Cody Aldrich. Caucasian, American. 122 lbs, 5 ft 6 in, Indiana…. Born January 31 1991?" Winston's eyes widen as he looks at the other two, both also having a shocked look.

"1991? But then… that means he's… from the Forgotten Era?" Tracer gasped.

"Then that explains the Cryo Stasis Rejection." Winston realized.

"Now… the question is, how did he get into that pod?" She asked, the others were silent, not knowing either.

"Guess we can ask him once he wakes up." Winston stated, the others nodding.

Cody groaned as he slowly began to open his eyes. Upon opening them, he notices he's now under what looks like a medical light above him. He slowly leans forward, spite gaining some nausea and a headache. "My head…. Where am I?" He groaned.

"Looks like you are awake." A soothing voice said.

Cody looks up to see the young doctor standing there, placing her staff to the side. "Uh… T-Thank you…. Who are you?" He asked her, a light blush on his face from her beauty.

"I am Mercy. It is nice to meet you." She smiled.

"L-Likewise, miss…" He said softly, still a bit flustered from her.

A giggle came near by. "Seems your charm affected him as well, love!" the voice giggled. Cody turned his head to see another girl near by him. "I'm Tracer, it's really nice to meet you, love!" She beamed.

"T-Thanks, Tracer?" Cody said, a bit confused on her name.

"Winston should be here in a second." She added.

"Winston?" Cody questioned.

Suddenly the doors opens up as Cody's eyes widen to see a walking gorilla walking towards them. "Ah, I see he's finally awake. Good to know." Winston smiled. Cody though, looked like he saw something that could never be explained by words. "Did… that gorilla just talk?" He asked them both.

"That's Winston." Tracer informed.

"I-I see… So um… where am I again exactly? And… who are you all anyways?" He asked them, wanting to know.

The three looked at each other before Winston spoke up, "We are Overwatch." He answered. Now Cody wasn't hearing things. It literally talked!

"The Gorilla talked…" He got out, Winston sighing from this.

"Yes, I know… Though, please stop calling me that? I am a scientist." Winston huffed.

"Sorry…" He apologized. "And… Overwatch? What's that?" He asked them.

"So you never heard of Overwatch?" Cody nodded.

"You can say we are the heroes!" Tracer smiled.

Upon hearing this gave him some relief. "Heroes huh?" He said softly. "Then… how come I haven't heard about any of you until now? I figured the news would at least say something about it…" He noted.

Winston pondered as Cody looked around more until he saw a familiar machine on a table with wires connected to its body. He quickly moved himself back. "W-Why is that there!?"

They turned to the robot then back to Cody. "You know what this thing is, Cody?" Tracer asked him, a bit surprised that he can recognize it.

"Know it? It's a Roidmude! Those things are dangerous!" He shouted in panic.

"Roidmude?" Winston asked, looking at the robot. "And… how dangerous are we talking Cody?" He asked.

"They nearly killed almost all of northern Japan! They can take human form, even cast a Density Shift as in slowing down time while your brain moves in normal time!" He answered.

They all turned back towards the robot, now known as Roidmude, surprised something like this can exist. "Well, don't worry, love! The thing is full of holes. It can't do anything now!" Tracer reassured.

"You…. You sure? Does it have a number or something on it's chest?" Cody asked.

Winston walked over to it, looking at the Roidmude's chest before turning to Cody and shaking his head. "It's fully blank." He replied.

Cody sighed with relief. "Just blank eh? Then… yeah, I guess we are safe…" Cody said to them.

"How do you know such things Cody?" Winston asked him.

"Well… they're from Kamen Rider Drive…. A tv show… So… how can they even exist here?" He questioned. The others also remaining quiet as they have no idea.

"We can figured this out back at the base." Winston said, turning to Tracer. "You can show him around and answer anything he asks, Tracer. So as long as he's safe to move?" He asked, turning to Mercy.

The young Medic nodded. "Yes, the treatment was successful, and since he's able to talk so much, he can be released easily now." She reassured him.

"Come on, I'll show you around." Tracer insisted.

The Carrier arrives at the base. Out past near the mountains was what looks like a unique complex. Filled with small buildings, a training ground, cargo hold, a space launch site, and of course the head quarters. The whole area was large and seemed to be hard to find unless you either were here before, or you had really good luck.

The ship landed as the doors opened, Tracer walks out with Cody following behind. Mercy after that and Winston, carrying the Roidmude. Each one heading into a different direction. Winston seemed to take the Roidmude back to his lab, while Mercy went towards her medical ward. As for Cody, he followed the energetic girl, from England as she shows him the area.

"So… This is what you call Overwatch…?" Cody asked.

"Oh, this is just the only HQ we have left. 'Overwatch' is more like the name of our…. Old task force." Tracer explained.

"Like a military?" He blinked.

"In a way, yes. We were."

He took notice of the people here and their gear was pretty impressive. It was like stuff from a sci-fi movie or video game.

Speaking of which, he took notice of a girl playing video games in which made Cody curious. She seemed to be very young of age, 18 perhaps? Wearing a unique jumpsuit, filled with brand logos on it, and a bunny face on the front and back of her uniform. "Who's that?" He asked.

"Oh, that's D. Va. She's one of us as well." Tracer said, as the two walked over to her. "D. Va! Meet Cody! He's from the Forgotten Era." she smiled.

D. Va finched upon hearing that, she quickly dropped the controller as she rushed towards the young man, sparkles in her eyes. "You're from the Forgotten Era!?" She gasped.

Cody though looked confused. "What's the Forgotten Era?" He asked them.

"The Forgotten Era is a point of time in the past that was wiped from the face of the Earth. Only remnants of their tech and culture was left behind, but the data, documents, and memories of those were lost forever. Thus known as the Forgotten Era, the Era where the Earth forgot another root." Tracer explained to him.

Cody was a bit astonished that so much history, was just erased like that. Though, this didn't stop the korean gamer girl to grab his hand and look at him with awe. "So…. I take it, this means I'm a super important reic then?" He asked them

"In a way, yes." Tracer said, the two girls nodded.

"Heh.. Well… Guess I can officially admit to being the oldest thing alive now." He joked.

"So, what kind of games were there back then?" D. Va asked him.

"Well… we had many different types of course. Though, hard to name them all though…." He admitted. "And the game systems…" He whistled. "It's a long list."

"That sounds amazing! We have to talk about this later!" D. Va smiled.

Cody nodded as he started to follow Tracer again. "I've never seen D. Va be so friendly before. You're quite the charmer aren't ya?" she teased.

"Heh… Not really. Just being friendly is all." He smiled. "Also…. Back there, what did you mean by… 'We were'?" He asked her.

"You see, the Overwatch initiative is illegal," she explained. "But after crimes and attacks, Winston didn't want to see things like that anymore. So he activated the Overwatch initiative."

"Sounds to me, he did the right thing." Cody smiles. "But, how many do you have here?"

"So far, just me, Winston, Mercy, and …. Everyone else is either off on their own jobs, or…. Dead due to Talon and Reaper."

"Who?"

She pointed at digital poster. "That is Reaper."

He sees the one she's pointing to. "Oh…. I'm.. sorry…" He apologized.

"Nah, don't feel bad, love. You didn't mean any harm." she smiled. "Come on now, let's show you the training area!" she beamed, grabbing his arm and dragging towards the area.

Meanwhile, Winston is looking over through the Roidmude body, examining every inch of it, while Mercy walks into the room. "Astounding… I've never seen such craftsmanship before... " He said in awe. "This thing dates back to the Forgotten Era of 2014 and whoever made this had resources to capable to create a machine like this." He sighed through more about the machine.

Mercy turns her head and smiles as she sees Tracer along with Cody. "Seems, she's taking a liking to him." She giggled.

"A young man who woke up centuries later? Who wouldn't." He shrugged as he went through his computer, digging through more info. He then saw its mainframe but also a core… emitting unknown energy. Similar to the one he detect but slightly weaker. He adjusted his glasses to read it as it came up unknown even when he compared it to every known type of energy he has seen. "Even in today's time the energy is unreadable…"

What the two didn't notice was that its hand finally twitched. Mercy looked at the reports that Winston wrote so far. "Who would create a sentient machine like this?" She wondered as the machine behind her slowly moved its arm.

"Don't know but maybe- Mercy, take cover!"

Her eyes widen as she ducks in time, Winston grabbing the Roidmude and tossed it through the already newly repaired window. It then slowly stood up as the gun holes slowly began to reconstruct itself. It looked up before turning to Mercy. "Target aquired…." The Roidmude said as it started to walk back towards them.

"I thought you said it was destroyed?" She questioned Winston.

"It was suppose to! I don't even know how-My machinery! It must have been absorbing power." He growled as the Bat Roidmude swayed its arm as it turned into a large cannon that was meant to fire automatic rounds. Winston quickly lifted the table to protect him and Mercy as it fired a lot of rounds. "Athena, sound the alarm!"

"Roger." She responded. The alarm sounding off, several drones being sent out towards the cause. Though, looks up, confused at what happened?

As for Cody and Tracer, they looked up, Tracer had a worried look on her face. "Uh… Is this some sort of drill or something?" He asked her, confused as well.

"It's only active when there is an intruder!" Tracer gasped. "D. Va get your mech ready! Winston and Mercy are in trouble!"

Cody's eyes widen. "The Roidmude!" He gasped. "We need to stop it before it tries anything!" Cody stated to her.

Tracer shook her head. "You're staying here Cody. You're not like us, you'll only get hurt." Tracer said softly.

"But I know what the Roidmudes can do!" He pleaded, wanting to help her.

She bit her lip for a moment before looking at D. Va then at Cody. "Just stay close." She advised. Cody smiled as D. Va pressed a few buttons on her arm before a large, purple mech flies in front of her as she enters it. "Now, hold onto D. Va alright?" She asked him.

Cody nodded as D. Va helped him onto her mech. Tracer then starts blinking towards where Winston and Mercy are at. "Woah… how did she do that?" Cody asked.

"It's that device on her chest." D. Va explained. "It can reverse the first few minutes of any mistake she makes."

"That's amazing!" He smiled.

"Sure is, now hold on!" D. Va announced as the two flew off towards Winston's Lab.

Inside, the Roidmude kept firing round after round at Winston and Mercy, chipping away the table piece by piece. "Does that thing have unlimited ammo or something?" Mercy growled, sending a few shots at it, only to see them barely do anything.

They heard it laugh, "Humans are weak! Even on this era you all have no authority to change!" It taunted before it it used its claw to scratch the rifle and aimed at them. The cannon charging up for a much powerful blast as if it's claws can cause the weapon to charge up. And in an instant, it torn through the table, smashing Winston and Mercy against the wall.

The Roidmude chuckled as it walks towards Mercy, grabbing her neck and lifting her up. "Leave her alone!" Winston shouted, going into his Primal Rage as he charged the Roidmude, only for him to be easily slapped into the wall nearby.

"Win….ston…" Mercy coughed, trying to breath as the Roidmude squeezed on her throat, bit by bit. "Goodbye human pest." Just as it was about to execute her, it was kicked away, dropping Mercy and there stood Tracer with a smirk.

"Right on time," she smiled.

The Roidmude got back up as it glared at her. It aimed its rifle at her but she blinked to another area. "I'm right here!" It moved its aim only for the girl to be at another spot. "Can't catch me!"

The Roidmude growled, trying it's best to hit her, but her movements were way too quick for it to keep up. "Stand still!" It shouted, sending off a blast towards one of the directions.

"So… Who are you trying to shoot?" A voice asked behind it. It quickly turned around only for her to kick it away, sending it out of the lab and outside. It looked at the three Overwatch personnel before it realized it was outside. It laughed before it raised its arms, wings forming on them before it took to the sky.

"It can fly?!" She gasped. Suddenly sprays of bullets rained down above, striking the Roidmude as it sent it into the ground below.

"It can literally do anything, but have a sense of humor!" Cody shouted as D. Va flew right down. The young man hoping off. "And it's armor is very thick. To beat it, you need to keep putting the hurt onto it until the chest cracks. Then toss something very powerful to destroy it's body. Then the core will fly out, and be very vulnerable to be destroyed for good." Cody explained.

The Roidmude though, heard every word. "How… How do you know about us!?" It growled, pointing the gun at Cody as it sent out a shot towards him. Only for Tracer to quickly get him away, angering the Roidmide more. "Only those cursed Riders and those with Krim know!" It roared before its body showed pixelization. It looked at its hand. "Data 100%... Memory data recovered…" it laughed darkly as its body shifted before it became the Sword Roidmude. It's body was sharp, filled with rows of spikes, shaped like blade, its arms even had two long, curved blade and was completely red.

"No way! The Sword Roidmude? But Shinnosuke defeated you!" Cody gasped, the Roidmude turning towards him yet again.

"So… you do know of Drive…. Then if that's the case, I'll take out my vengeance upon you…" It growled, the blades on its arms glowing brightly as it crosses its arms together. Tracer, sensing the danger emitting from it.

"D. Va distract it!" Winston ordered. "We must get Cody out of here."

"Oh no you don't!" It shouted, this time though, it swung its blade at D. Va, hitting and cutting through her Mech's leg easily as it kneel to the ground, unable to move it. It then turned its attention towards Cody, slowly approaching the young man who was standing his ground.

10 Minutes Earlier in Japan…

Deep within the old area that was known in the Forgotten Era was a police station. However, within the police station lied a secret underground room. It was covered in cobwebs, filled to the brim with dust, and seemed to haven't been even discovered is such a long time. But suddenly, the lights turned on, the area began to lighten up, as if something was waking up.

ROIDMUDES DETECTED Initiating Rebirth Protocol

The area began to shake as something was opening up. Below was a small panel, slowly parting, from the cobwebs and rust build up as what came out was a small Red and Blue car. It blinked slightly before looking around.

"Never have I ever been so infuriated…. I thought they were all destroyed… I guess nothing can last forever…." The Toy car spoke up. "Activate Rider Identification. Find me someone who can become one of the Riders?" The car said to the computer system.

Multiple screens lit up, displaying many information even the year as it surprised him. "It has been that long…" It muttered. The screen began showing new images and events that it was surprised about. "Ah…. A Paradox Event… So I was sent here huh? Can you bring me up the anomaly of how it happened?" It asked the system again.

This time though, it only showed the Paradox Roidmude, angered growls can be heard from the car. "Find me a Rider. NOW!" It shouted in rage.

The computers began to go through numerous images until something rang out. It showed a young man being carried out by… a gorilla? He digged through more as the camera showed the wallet falling out. It zoomed in, seeing the wallet but saw the ID. The young man was someone out of time, literally.

"Hmm… Interesting… Can you give me stats of him?" He asked yet again, his brain beginning to ponder. It scanned the image, digging through any files related to the name until it showed nothing. Maybe he can be compatible. "Hmm… It is the best we can do… And I believe I know the right one. Send him Mach, on the double!"

The computer lite up as the Mach Driver, and the Signal Mach appear from the lab. It shined brightly as the toy car and others like it flew to it and grabbed the Mach Driver by going under it, literally lifting it up like ants lifting crumbs of food and began to race off towards where the young man is at, going fast as it can to reach him, and help him defend against the Roidmude.

The Sword Roidmude raised its blade at Cody, chuckling softly, "Goodbye…" Before it can strike, multiple blurs and tracks appeared as it was knocking the Roidmude back before it send it rolling across the ground. "WHAT?!" It shouted out in anger, as the tracks appeared again, several small lights racing past it, striking the Roidmude more and more before it made it tumble to the ground.

"What… was that?" Tracer got out.

A small white light passes by as it races around Cody, who Winston put down. "Do you know what this thing is Cody?" He asked the young man. He watched in awe as a small object landed on Winston's shoulder while the other landed on the other's own shoulders along with Cody. What was on their shoulders were… toy cars?

"Toy cars…?"

The said items honked as if they responded to their mislabeling. "They are my creations, the Shift Cars and Signal Bikes."

"That voice…" Cody gasped, turning to one of them. "Krim Stienbelt?! You're here too?"

"So you know my name…. Looks like you are a man out of time like me." The voice replied.

"So… wait… how did you get here then? Last time I knew… You were just from a tv show.. And reunited with Shinnosuke's after the Ghost incident." Cody questioned.

"Neither do I. For now, I'll look into it… But right now, you need to fight." Kri said. The white light raced around before stopping in Cody's hand. What he possessed now was not only the Signal Bike Mach, but also the Mach Driver Honoh. It was a small device, resembling a bike's mufflers. It was mostly blue and black with some silver while the main place looked empty, ready for a Signal Bike or Shift Car to enter.

"Are… you sure I'm the most qualified for this Krim? I wasn't that big of a fighter back home.." Cody questioned him.

"You will improve, but for now assist your new friends to defeat the Roidmude." He advised.

"I... " He gulped. "I'll try my best Krim!" He said, turning his attention to the now angered Roidmude.

"No… I won't let this happen… Not again!" It shouted as it started to charge towards Cody. He lifts up the Mach Driver as he places the Signal Mach into the Driver.

SIGNAL BIKE

A standby tune plays as it sounded like an energetic trumpet tune is being played as Cody quickly close the top part of the driver. A gold 'R' appearing from the muffler circle.

MACH

The upbeat trumpet tune plays as several bits and pieces of armor form around Cody, placing themselves onto him, donning him on Mach's armor. He was covered in white armor with a black suit underneath. On his right shoulder he had what looked like a small tire on it. And then on his chest near the left side was two red strips with a yellow "R" symbol on it. He also had a white with red stripes scarf on his back. And finally his face. It looked like he had a motorcyclist's helmet with two antenna in the front as well as a small light blue gem in between them, with a blue visor underneath the helmet.

"Woah…." Tracer got out as they all see Cody now in this armored form.

"This… is quite a power boost…" Cody said in awe, looking over his armor now on him.

"Athena, any records of the armor we are seeing?" Winston asked.

"I can answer that." Krim insisted. "What you all see is the Mach Honno Driver and the armor is Mach. Kamen Rider Mach."

"KISAMA KRIM!" The Sword Roidmude roared out, charging towards Cody.

"Well… Guess it's time to get in action." He said to himself, charging at the Roidmude as well. He tried to punch the Roidmude, only for the latter to block it and strike Cody numerous times across the chest, sparks coming off his armor.

"Rookie!" It shouted, slashing him again and sending him tumbling back. The young rider groaning in pain from the strike.

"I.. don't think… I can do this on my own…" Cody panted, realizing his inexperience. Before it can strike him again, it was lifted up in the air before it was thrown across the area. The young rider looked up to see Winston, in his Primal Rage yet again.

Tracer then Blinks in front of him, smiling and helping him up. "Then, let us handle him together. Alright, love?" She winked at him.

Cody smiled under his helmet as he nodded to her. "If you can just crack his Roidmude plate and hold him there, I can finish him off in one go." Cody stated to them.

"You got it, champ." She nodded as the five looked at the Roidmude.

"I will not lose yet again!" It shouted, charging at them, blades raised up high.

Winston charged first, and as the Roidmude swung his blade, it was met by some odd like barrier stopping the blades. "Sorry, but I don't lose…." D. Va glared, using her Mech's shield ability. And thanks to the distraction, Winston was able to grab it by the air and literally tear the arms off off, the Roidmude screaming in pain from the gorilla ripping them off.

Tracer smirked as she started to open fire upon the Roidmude, distracting it more so it can regenerate from the limbs being removed. "Sorry, love. But this battle ends!" She smirked and fired more rounds onto the Roidmude. Sparks were casting off its armor before they saw spider-web cracks appearing on its body. "And there goes the cracks!"

"Thanks Tracer!" Cody smiled, running towards the Roidmude. As he does, he lifts up the driver panel as he pressed the button on it.

HISSTASU!

Cody then slammed the panel back down as the visor on his helmet lite up. He then jumped up high into the air.

FULL THROTTLE: MACH!

As the young rider was in the air, he began to spin rapidly like a top before straightening his body, and leg. Several colors filled around him and his foot as he came down at the Roidmude with a flying side kick, otherwise known as to the Kamen Riders, The Rider Kick. Upon connecting to the Roidmude, it screamed in agony as a fire explosion erupted from it. But out from the fire and smoke came a Roidmude Core for No. 007 on it before shattering to pieces.

Cody landed on the other side, panting before lifting up his mask, revealing a black mask over the lower half of his face while he still had the visor on. Steam pouring out from it as he lets out a large sigh before turning towards the others. "So…. Did I do well?" He asked them, unsure.

Cody was now at a table, nervous as the others were looking at him, more importantly the toy cars and bikes that were on the table, staring at both groups. While he was happy to help out and stop that Roidmude, he knows full well he's very inexperienced in fighting, compared to them all who were part of a worldwide organization. And he was very unsure on if him being apart of this was right or not?

They remained quiet for awhile until Winston stood up. "So, as far as we know, you are a very inexperienced fighter. One that shows many mistakes and rookie decisions due to lack of guidance. For all extensive purpose, you should be ineligible to even think of joining Overwatch…" Winston pointed out the flaws he has.

The now young Rider lowered his head. "I was only trying to help… I couldn't stand it when the people who helped me got hurt." He explained. "Doing something to help is better than doing nothing."

Winston took off his glasses then sigh. "You didn't let me finish though…." This made Cody look up at them, he then sees them all have a soft smile on their face. "But, spite out of all of that, you showed courage, dedication, and even was willing to sacrifice your life for the sake of others. To us, we believe you are Overwatch material. Congratulations." He said, holding out his hand to the young rider.

He blinked as he looked at the slightly large hand, but he smiled back, taking his hand as they shook. The several Shift Cars and Signal Bikes honked happily from this. "And for now on, you work as a team with us." Winston then jestered to others. "We will also help train you to hone your skills and this new power… That is, if your friend here is also willing to help out?" Winston looked at the unknown Shift Car. "The… Roidmude called you Krim? Is that correct?"

"That's correct. I am Krim Steinbelt, creator of the Core Driviars and the Shift Cars along with the Signal Bikes." He introduced himself.

"I take it, that they know of you because of these, Core Driviars?" Mercy asked him.

"Know? The person that I once called my colleague created those cursed Roidmudes, using my Core Driviars for them." He said.

They looked at him with shock. "I see…. But the question remains on how they and you got here? Cause I recall that Cody was confused about it as well, correct?" Winston asked the young rider.

Cody nodded. "Y-Yeah… He was sealed after defeating the Roidmudes, but came back later to help Shinnosuke, Kamen Rider Drive again to fight with Ghost… so, how are you here Krim?"

"The Paradox Event." He answered. "It's a phenonium where a spatial area can drag something from one plane of existence to another. Therefore...It must've dragged me, Paradox and some Roidmudes to this place." Krim explained.

"You know… I didn't even consider that you came from a Paradox Event…." Winston agreed with Krim's science.

"And… me? How did I survive? I was frozen in that pod.. Showing that this is the future… But…" Cody lowered his head, realizing his family is completely gone now.

"The Paradox Event also drags something to another time as well."

"Then what about this Forgotten Era? Was it the cause of it?" Cody asked, his tone raised.

"We still have yet to figure that one out. Scientists, archeologists and more have done their best, and they couldn't figure it out… but we promise, we will help you out, Cody." Tracer reassured. "Cheer up, mate."

Cody smiled back and nodded. "Thanks Tracer…"

"In the meantime, I shall work with you all as well, to combat the Roidmudes yet again. I'll even find a way to help increase your weapons potential to hurt them easily." Krim stated rolling back before driving towards Winston. "And you said you are a scientist?"

"Of course I am." He then pointed to Tracer's device. "I was the one who made that, to keep Tracer anchored to the present. Without it, her existence would shift from this timeline to the next." He explained.

This made Cody surprised, turning his head to Tracer. "So… you moving that fast… is just due to some time disease or something?" He asked her.

"It's from a project she participated in." Winston sighed sadly. "The rest is rather sad…" he then realized something. "Krim, you said the Core Driviars can slow things down or counter it right?"

"Correct. What do you have in mind?"

He looked at Tracer. "If we can create a similar one to the device, we can allow her to stay permanently. Allowing her to stay in this time and keep herself visible forever."

"Hmm…. I could try and help out." Krim admitted. "I will also help you create Core Driviar Chips for all of you in case you ever fight a Roidmude."

"Thank you Krim." Winston smiled. "Alright, I believe today is done. You're all dismissed to relax."

The other members nodded as , Cody, and Tracer were walking out as the Shift Cars and Signal Bikes followed the three. "What are these lots doing?" Tracer asked.

"I guess they just want to hang out too?" Cody replied.

"Awesome!" D. Va beamed, as Deco Traveler and Colorful Commercial hopped on her shoulder, honking happily. "To think these are also part of the Forgotten Era."

Cody then turned to Tracer, smiling at her. "So.. is the tour still over with?" He asked her.

"Sure is, mate but since you are gonna be staying here." She looked at "You know what that means."

"I'll get the console!" She sped away to her area to grab her system. Cody looked at her and Tracer confused on what they mean and want?

"Oh right… since you are from the Forgotten Era, she would want you to try some games." The time jumper remembered.

"So… she wants to versus me in a game? Why?"

"Her way to see if you got the guts to handle being part of Overwatch." She shrugged.

Cody chuckled. "Well, guess some thing don't change in time." He smiled. "I'll accept her challenge."

"Well, I suggest you do your best. If she wins, she'll make you into her little slave…" Tracer said bluntly.

"You can't be serious…" Cody sweatdropped until he sees her turning to him. His eyes widen at her serious look. "Has… anyone ever beat her then?"

"You saw the controls on her mech, right? They are joysticks." She reminded. "Do the math."

Cody gulped loudly enough for her to hear it. "It…. Has been ages since I used a joystick… Hope it's not a shooter…." He sighed.

"Well half of her collection is that." She responded.

"I'm screwed…" He sighed.

He then flinched as he heard a sing song style as he turns to see D. Va carrying her console and game. "So! Ready to play a game?" She smirked.

Cody could just gulp and nod, ready for whatever he'll lose at….

Meanwhile, Krim, Winston, and Mercy were having a private meeting. "So… That's how it happened for you Krim…" Winston got out, surprised by his back story. "And your former colleague was the reason to those Roidmudes…"

"I'm… so sorry that happened to you Krim.." Mercy bowed.

"No need to worry. I had to thank my partner Shinnosuke to take care of the situation."

"Still…. The way you talked about him… I pray he didn't follow you here as well…" Winston grimaced.

"I assure you, he's long gone but the only problem is Paradox… unlike that Roidmude, Cody defeated, it will take a much longer process to reactivate its most deadly ability: Distortion and Time."

"We'll have to do our best to find him and destroy him before he can ever achieve that power." Winston noted. "Otherwise, we all will be lost."

"So, that means we will need to get every Overwatch agent back here as well. Before not only that times come, but also before Reaper and Talon kill off the other members." Mercy added on. "What happens if they recruit that Paradox?"

"I doubt it will happen. The Roidmudes hate humans to their very cores. They won't work with them but if they do, they kill the person they work with at the last second. I've seen it, believe me."

"Then for now, we'll have to trust in Cody. So far, right now, he can be a great warrior if he applies himself. And being here, I know that he can make it." Mercy said, the other two nodding, agreeing with her.

Back with the others, Cody is on the ground, groaning in utter defeat as D. Va is holding up a peace sign. "Tough luck Cody!" She giggled. "Though, I have to admit, you did pretty well. You actually beat Mcree's record!" She said, pointing to the 5th place, while the others after that only say 'D. Va' on them.

"Man…. If you were back at my time… you would've killed it in the ESports…" Cody said, while annoyed he lost though.

"Cheer up, chap… At least you did something?" Tracer reassured.

"Thanks... " He sighed, looking at D. Va who had a cheekily smirk to her. "So? What do I have to do?"

She began to ponder, thinking of many things for him to do. "Decisions, decisions, decisions." she grinned. "Hmm…" She looked at Cody before a devious look appeared and Cody did not like that look at all. She looked at Tracer and quickly grabbed her and the two Overwatch girls away from Cody for a moment, making him confused.

He just watched the two talk while trying to wonder what is going on, thinking if the possibility of asking Tracer to help with her plan. He swore he heard some arguing amongst the two as the two looked at him for a moment before going back to the huddle talk. What felt like forever, the two separate and approached the young Rider. "I have made my plan." She said.

Cody gulped, ready for what's to come. "And… what is it going to be?" He asked her.

She spun her finger around, as if she was about to make her announcement before pointing at Tracer. "From here on, you will be her bunk mate for the rest of your stay!" she declared.

Cody blinked for a moment, actually surprised that was the so on so, 'punishment' for losing to her. "Wait… My punishment for losing is to be her bunk mate? How does that work?" He questioned her.

"You both will be sharing the same room, bathroom," She began to list on the things that roommates share. "And finally, you two will be able to connect even more!" She giggled.

Cody blushed slightly from her list, looking at Tracer who just shrugged. He sighed slightly. "Very well then…" He agreed to her. "I take the so called punishment. I still don't get it to why it is one."

"Oh that was part 1, part 2 is the fact that you will be my gaming partner for the next 3 months." She added.

He flinched from that but sighed. "Very well then D. Va…" He said to her, she smiled brightly before skipping off. He then turns to Tracer and smiles slightly. "So.. that tour then?"

"Ah, right. Come on then." She gestured the Rider to follow.

His smile grew a bit before following her. One thing is for sure, this will be one adventure.

In the city, Paradox was moving away scraps as he growled. His data wasn't getting anywhere! All because of his reawakening! And the Memory Data wasn't ready either. He moved more and more scraps of metal before he looked back at the pile he gathers and jumped off the small hill. He reached inside his chest before he pulled out a small bag he kept. He laughed as he got his new weapons that he absorbed and fired at the large pile, some of the metal melting.

He kept on the process for hours until there was many outlines of what seems to be bodies. The bodies of the Roidmudes that the human thought he killed. He chuckled at them. "Alright. Wake up now…" He got out items from his bag to what were Core Driviars with data chips. He placed them in each body, each chip accepting the bodies.

The machines began to slightly move before they all began to rise up, all of them having no number but they had heads of bats, cobras, and spiders. They looked at each other even at their own bodies, seeing that they are alive again but the question is how?

"My fellow Roidmudes!" Paradox called out. "You may be wondering how you survived…. It is due to me. The last, TRUE Roidmude. PARADOX!" He shouted. "And for right now… You all live cause of me. So, go out. Find humans, assimilate them… And evolve… To the point where we can rid this planet of those filthy apes, once and for all. Are you with me!?"

They all roared in agreement, raising their claws in the air.

"Now… the enemies that are in our way are the organization called Talon leaded to a man who considers himself the Shinigami! He is nothing but mockery!"

They growl at that name, knowing if they ever cross those Talon, they will be erased.

"And for the second…. Is supposed heroes much like those cursed Riders who has killed you all! They call themselves Overwatch! Let's show these two organizations that a new one is here! The Roidmude will distort the world and achieve evolution! Get the vengeance of your fallen brothers by killing them both!"

They all roared in a unanimous applause, agreeing to take down anyone who gets in their way, though not realizing what Paradox's true intentions are this time. 'In time… I will complete what I was suppose to do… The Paradox Event will occur again… and no one will ever stop me.'

A/N: Hello minna! I do hope you enjoyed the first chapter of my Overwatch fic? Now, let's get some thing cleared up... First off, this is an original idea. Mostly due to the fact that since Overwatch doesn't have a story mode, nor do we know what will happen later on? So, this will be completely original work. No idea how long it will be or how far we'll go... But rest assured, I will keep doing this fic, but the chapters may take awhile since me and Shadow who is helping me with this, will need time to brainstorm the ideas on what to do?

Now with that out of the way, time for some answers I bet you're all wondering? First off, Overwatch does take place in this fic, in the future of Cody's earth. No dimensional rift thing, no alternate universe, this is truly supposed to be his worlds' future. As for how Krim and the Roidmudes? well, those are the only ones who were transported into another reality. I can't say much more due to spoilers, but there is a reason why they are there.

Next, no. No Drive, No Chaser, No Lupin, No Dark Drive or Banno. They will not be in this fic at all. This is just a Mach fic, there maybe some surprises and things here and there, but Mach is the only rider that will be in here. So please don't ask me if there will be other riders, okay?

And, yes. All of Mach's tv/movies forms will be in this. I repeat, ALL OF MACH'S TV/MOVIE FORMS. So, Deadheat, Chaser Mach and finally the newly introduced Mach Chaser forms will be in it. Why not Super Dead-Heat though? Easy, that was only on a novel. And translating a novel's ideas into this, will be impossible for me. I have no idea if they even describe what the form looks like, and since I highly doubt it'll be translated, I can't use it here.

Next is this, "Forgotten Era" that was mentioned. Basically, while I can't spoil everything, its basically a concept where the Earth has forgotten many many MANY things. Think of it like the Miyan Culture or even Ancient Egyptian. We know they existed, we have things such as their temples, artifacts and more... But to know WHAT they truly are, is in the past that we forgotten. We know basically nothing sides from what we can discover from their remaining culture from their graves and more. That is kinda what the Forgotten Era is. From basically since The ye olden times of the UK to basically today aka 2016, is where the time was erased for some reason. Only some remnants of it remain, but just like Ancient Egypt, we know jack shit. And more will be revealed later in this story.

And finally... the shipping.. I know EVERYONE will bitch about it, how I shouldn't use Tracer, how I should use some OC shipping or no shipping at all... But remember people... In the end, this is my fic. If I wanna ship Tracer, I am allowed to... Okay? I can understand your worries on what that can do to the story, but again, remember, I don't do this just for shits and giggles. I don't do this for some.. deep fantasy of something I want to have. I do this to help add elements and some kind of development with my fics and my writing. It helps me think of better situations and ideas alright?

So, until next time, later minna.
