Not a real update, and for that I'm sorry, but I hope you'll all read nonetheless.

I've struggled to keep up with [even somewhat] regular updates for this story. To be completely honest, I've had the hardest time finding inspiration and motivation to write more chapters.

Part of me thinks I've written myself into a corner, forcing this story to go on longer than it should have. The other part of me disagrees; I have LOTS of ideas as to where this story could go, but in order to get from Point A (where the story is now) to Point B (where I want the story to be for my ideas) I'd have to do a lot of filler chapters and/or time jumps.

I don't like doing big time jumps, so I try to avoid them as much as I can. Besides, I feel like I already have enough time jumps in this story.

That leaves filler chapters but since they don't really do anything but take up the space of a time jump, I have no motivation to write them because I can't figure out any good content to put in those chapters and I don't want to just write nonsense.

THIS IS THE PART I REALLY WANT YOU TO READ!

I want to redo this story. I am going to redo this story.

I want to add more drama and more substance to Sam, Maddie and their story, with lots of twists and whump along the way, of course ;)

There's a lot of you that love JAM (Sam/Jules) and while I'm OK with them ending up together, I also really like the idea of Sam with someone else.
Here's why:
1) part of me is still a little peeved about how the first part of their relationship played out in the show
2) I actually liked Jules and Steve together
3) I don't think I could do Sam and Jules justice with the way I write
4) there's not a lot of fics out there where Sam is involved with someone other than Jules and I remember reading a few that I really liked

Now, that's not to say JAM won't happen in the rewrite, I'm just going to explore another avenue first.

This story, the original Sam's Secret, will still be around and I might even still update it but the redone, reimagined one will be an entirely new story.

I know a lot of you love this story and love Maddie and for that I thank you! Your continuous support means everything to me and I hope you'll enjoy the new story just as much.

Just like I did with Sam's Secret, I'll post a preview of the story as a one-shot in SAMTASTIC.

NOW ONTO THE REAL QUESTION

Should I keep Maddie or maybe make Maddie a Matthew?
