If you feel up to it, I would totally recommend a Maddie and a Matthew. It would be cool to see how Sam would handle the bundle of trouble that would be.
Though if you really want an answer for one of the other, I say keep with Maddie because that father daughter bond is just something really cute.

I really like Maddie... it’s just so sweet the relationship between Sam and Maddie. Maybe in the future Sam and Jules can have a Matthew... for now Sam fighting to keep Maddie away from her mom,because she didn’t want her seemed like a good path ...I wish I was a better help ..I hope you get back on track soon good luck!

Loved the concept you had, it was an enjoyable story...thinking you should have Sam recover for the denouement and start a new story independent of this one. Develop your story universe...it has potential...

I'm glad to find someone else who is not completely in love with JAM. I also didn't like the way their relationship started in the show; it didn't seem true to Sam's character (at least the way I viewed it). So I would love to see a story where Sam ends up with someone else (or no one at all - he'd make a great single parent), but honestly there need to be more Sam/OC stories.
I would like to see Maddie stay Maddie rather than Matthew. I like the idea of Sam having a little girl. I do have one suggestion though - if you are planning to keep her around toddler age, I think it's important to keep her true to what a toddler is like. I've loved your story, but every now and then I felt like Maddie would act a bit too mature for her age. Maybe it's because I have like 10 cousins under the age of 6, I don't know.
It's perfectly fine to have Maddie be gifted, but being advanced intellectually does not necessarily correlate with emotional maturity.
