Nick and Gatsby Fanfiction

Nick looked into Gatsby's eyes as he left his house. Gatsby stayed behind trying to form words, words that were ghosts to him, to say to Daisy. How could he have been so stupid? Gatsby questioned himself.

After years of obsessing over Daisy, he had finally learnt she was just a girl and was anything but exceptional. She was simply a clone, a slave to this artificiality and Gatsby resented her for it. After a long period of silence he whispered to her in an enlightening tone "I'm sorry, it appears I have made a terrible mistake, please excuse me." Gatsby in a fit of madness ran outside, in such a euphoric mission he wore nothing but socks on his feet, his feet sunk in the mud but he kicked it up in chunks. "Nick!" he yelled "Nick!" A disturbed piece of mud was flung up and splashed across his face, his hair destroyed by the rain and his clothes were drenched. He looked like a madman. He was a madman. What if Nick didn't feel the same? What if he was sectioned for this? The thoughts ran rampant around Gatsby but he wouldn't let them stop him.

When Gatsby finally reached Nick, he found it hard to catch his breath and not completely because of the running. Their eyes met and Gatsby found his sense of urgency saying softly "old sport-" but the sound was lost to the wind. "Jay" Nick responded almost inaudibly before leaning in and kissing Gatsby. The rain mixed with their lips and the passion, unwinding from weeks of frustration. Their bodies pressed against each other in the rain, feeling the warmth from each other. The kiss lasted about three minutes, but to the men time had stopped, it was interrupted by a shrill scream coming from Daisy. Her white dress ruined and see-through from the rain but all sense of shame had left her. The awkwardness enclosed them and silence was the new ruler. Gatsby looked into the mascara scarred eyes of Daisy and wondered what he ever once saw in them. "How could-"Daisy started "Is this why you invited me here Nick" she said turning her face away from Gatsby in disgust. "Honestly Daisy, it was a fit of madness that Nick invited you here and I think it would be madness for you to stay questioning" Gatsby answered on behalf of Nick. "So you're saying you can explain all of this" she said yelling over the storm while gesturing to Nick and Gatsby… Gatsby waited a moment before replying "No old sport, I do believe I am asking you to leave." This act of demission worked well and Daisy stormed off in pure outrage leaving Gatsby and Nick. "Was that not a tad bit rude?" Nick mimicked in pure delight and in a lascivious reply Gatsby whispered to him "Quite frankly my dear…I don't give a damn."
