When Ginny wandered through the front gate of Thistle Crescent she was immediately overwhelmed by a wave of base instinct. Her pupils dilated as she made off towards the entrance to their house, knowing that it was time. Upon opening the front door and stepping inside, the screams coming from the back parlor room that greeted her were heartbreaking.
Once she had locked the door and made sure that the wards were still properly in place, she walked into the back parlor to find the room nearly like she had left it. A desperate cry of need called to her and she quickly knelt down next to the wading pool filled with warm water, taking care to wipe away the sweat from Luna's face and brushing her damp hair out of her eyes.
At the loving caress, Luna trilled happily before she gave another squawk of pain. Ginny met Hermione's gaze, who was laying beside Luna in the water, with a helpless expression. She wouldn't speak her worries aloud, for fear of frightening the birthing half-Veela, but she knew that Hermione would understand.
The nod she received in return was beyond comforting and together they comforted Luna to the best of their ability; through the squawks, twitters, and chirps caused by the terrible ache of labor. It wasn't long until Luna bared down with a earth shattering screech and Hermione shifted to sit between Luna's legs.
Within moments Hermione was pulling a beautiful blonde baby out of the water, clearing it's airway and prompting it to cry; and cry it did. Tears filled Ginny's eyes as the looked at their child. With Luna's hair, Hermione's nose, and Ginny's lips. They wouldn't know whose eyes, she paused her thoughts as she looked closely and grinned, their son would have until he was older.
Even through her panting, Luna cooed at her baby as Hermione lifted up their son between them. They sat there as Luna recuperated, after Ginny cast the proper post-birth spells, watching their son take his first breaths of life. He was handsome, Ginny thought with a smile as she sat with the loves of her lives. They were blessed.
