Red the fire flaming darkly,
Red his hair falling below,
Red the blood upon his fingers,
Red is everywhere they go.
Black the crown that holds the jewels,
Black his eyes like endless wells,
Black the gloom that shrouds his chambers,
Black the horrible bat-fells.
Gray his eyes like rain-swept granite,
Gray the ashes of his fire,
Gray the steel of swift-drawn weapons,
Gray the gloom around his pyre.
Green the trees that stand around her,
Green the grass she dances on,
Evergreen the memory would be
In Aman, a land long gone.
Blue the staff of his dominion,
Blue the waters of the deep,
Blue the tears of Namo's sister,
Blue stars shine o'er Yavanna's Sleep.
Orange streaks burn the skies above them,
Orange light from a firedrake's flame,
Fire does his ship no damage,
Peredhil is dragon's bane.
Brown his robes, an earthy color,
Brown the trees he calls his home,
Brown the twisted staff he carries,
Brown the lands through which he roams.
White the ring upon her finger,
White the robes she always wears,
White the flets that rise around her,
White the phial the Halfling flares.
Silver swords are drawn at moonrise,
Silver glints in flowing hair,
Silver ice shines harsh behind them,
Silver light before sun's glare.
Gold the flower of his emblem,
Golden fire burns his hair,
Gold light shines from deepest chasm,
A golden warrior ended there.
