Scenes From A Maple House
by Rob Morris
( Set to the tune of 'Scenes From An Italian Restaurant' by Billy Joel )
A feeling of joy, A feeling of dread
There's a becalmed feeling in my head
They're talking now of war real near
But it's not quite yet here
Papa now, let us speak
A girl named Lucy, A girl named Nyu
It all depends upon your point of view
Nana's quite the tale to tell
Of the house we call Maple
First I arrived on that same beach
Had new limbs, had some odd paper
Fought Mister Bando, tried to buy food
and I met Mayu-chan
Saw Nyu and I freaked
Saw Lucy, she could not speak
How is it that two people
Could live in one form?
I discovered Kouta-San was not such a big louse
Rice, soup, ice cream, baths at Maple House
No cannonballs sleep quiet as a mouse
All highs, no lows
Until I felt your Mariko
Mariko Kurama was your actual daughter
Who the Chief had taken away
Then they told her Lucy bring back
but Nana to slay
They called her Number 35
Nana was lucky to get out alive
We didn' t realize that we had a Papa For Two
Coming to get us was Kouta-San and Nyu
First Isobe, then Shirakawa, and it looked like Papa died too
To stop the Chief's schemes you made a hostage out of Nyu
But Lucy Papa awakened
Mariko by your love was shaken
She went to defend us even giving her life
With her horns gone Nana hoped to wave Lucy goodbye
We had six months of peace
While Nousou made clones
And Anna to Goddess ascend
A Bad Man who Bando fought off
Lucy tried to kill our good friend
Kouta came and said let's have peace
But on peace we cannot depend
The soldiers invaded
Amnesia faded
And Lucy was taken to Chief
She capped him off and sank the island
And sailed back to the mainland
Then the queen met her king
and said her peace
But he never wanted to see her again
Kouta and Nyu were having a redo
As Papa shot him again
Angry Lucy swore she'd bring the world to an end
She couldn't bring herself to do it
She traded her life and she said screw it
Kouta-San will live on even if I will melt
That's the end of the tale of those two
Kouta did as promised and he killed Nyu
And here we are cleaning up our old Maple House
A daughter in need, a wife owed her due
Tell me what Nana really is to you
Nana says let's run our course
In our old sturdy Maple House...
