Epilogue

The sun rose peacefully over the villages of New Rome.

It was quiet, besides the small chirping of the birds in the trees and the soft ripples of the stream that ran through the villages.

The sun painted a landscape of colors from red to orange to even pink in the serene morning, and it would have been seen as the perfect morning–

"PERSEUS JACKSON!"

Annabeth Chase (or Jackson) stormed out of the house that she and her – idiotic – husband shared. She stepped out into the cobblestone streets, her hair a mess and her face as red as the rose bushes that flowered around the city. She was only in her pajama shorts and a tank top, and didn't appear rather menacing, but if someone were to get on her nerves right now (more importantly – Percy) then she would tear them to bits.

"I swear to all of the gods if you don't come out right now-"

"You'll what?" Percy asked while wrapping his arms around his wife's waist. Annabeth spun around in his arms, and smacked him right on the chest.

"Where is he?!" she demanded. "Don't you dare tell me you left him with Leo again-"

"Relax," Percy laughed, "he's playing with Hazel and Frank."

Percy looked past Annabeth's shoulder, and she turned, noticing her four year old son chasing around Frank – who was in the form of a large St. Bernard – and Hazel – who was expecting – was sitting on a bench nearby watching and laughing.

Percy had a habit of taking their son, Luke, on adventures in the morning, and Annabeth did not approve. Yes, they were in New Rome and all, and no monsters could get into the borders, but Annabeth was very tired of waking up to an empty bed, and to find Percy and Luke coming into the house covered in mud, dirt, or soaked from the rain.

Nothing stopped them, she swears.

The last time Percy had brought Luke to Uncle Leo's repair shop that was built in New Rome (just for him) and they spent the day avoiding fire balls and getting jammed into machines.

Needless to say, Annabeth's mama bear side came out every time Percy took their son on dangerous adventures around the city.

"He's fine, Annabeth," Percy assured her, although his lips were still tugging at a smile. Annabeth let out a sigh as she watched Luke chase St. Bernard Frank around the small park that was near their house.

Annabeth rested her forehead against Percy's chest, and she felt him chuckle from beneath her.

"It's not funny!" she protested and looked up at Percy while smacking him on the arm. He rubbed his arm with a frown, and Annabeth just crossed her arms over her chest.

"I don't want him to get into any trouble," she continued, "but that's rather difficult with you as his role model!"

Percy laughed once more, and Annabeth continued to glare at him. Instead of continuing to laugh, like Annabeth had expected, Percy swooped down and captured her lips with his. He always managed to shut her up with one of his kisses.

"Ew, get a room," someone said, and Annabeth turned to see Piper and Jason standing nearby, with their hands intertwined, and a little girl hiding behind Jason's legs.

"Pipes!" Annabeth cried and rushed forward to hug her friend. Jason and Piper had resided in Los Angeles near Piper's dad, and occasionally visited New Rome. Their daughter, Silena, was only three, but she loved New Rome and always played with Luke whenever they visited.

"Hey Jace," Percy said, greeting Jason with an oh-so-manly man hug.

"Perce, how's the little man?" Jason asked, and Percy turned while pointing to Luke who now held a small puppy in his hands. Annabeth shook her head as Frank loved to play with Luke, and she found it quite adorable.

"Silena," Piper said to her daughter who hid behind Jason's legs nervously. She had dark hair like her mother, and bright blue eyes like her father. "Why don't you go play with Luke?" Piper asked gently. Silena looked up at Piper with big blue eyes and then nodded before running over to Luke.

"So do you guys know when the others are coming?" Annabeth asked as the couples headed over to where Hazel and Frank were sitting. Hazel's stomach was rather large now, and she was due in a few weeks, but she didn't seem phased by it at all. She loved watching after the kids whenever the others had things to do.

"They should be here around noon," Piper said, "at least that's what Clarisse told me the last time I talked to her."

New Rome was hosting a reunion between the camps, since many of them haven't seen the others in so long, and Annabeth could tell that everyone was excited. She could already smell the food coming from the dining halls, and it smelled absolutely delicious.

Luke – who had dark raven hair like Percy, and big gray eyes like Annabeth – was as hyper as ever. It was only nine in the morning, and he was running around like a lunatic. Annabeth glanced over at Percy and wondered where on earth he could have gotten that from? Hmm…

Percy raced over to Luke and picked him up from behind, while swinging him around.

"Hey buddy," Percy said as Luke squealed in his arms. Silena was sitting on Jason's lap on the bench next to Hazel, and Frank had turned back into his human form.

"Daddy!" Luke cried, "Look I'm flying! Just like Uncle Jason!"

Jason chuckled as Silena crossed her arms over her chest.

"Mommy won't let Daddy take me flying," Silena pouted, and Piper rolled her eyes from next to the pair.

"Not until you're older," Piper said as if she repeated this many times. Annabeth laughed and took a seat next to Piper.

"But Luke gets to fly!" Silena said and pointed at Luke and Percy. Percy was swinging Luke around, not actually flying, and Silena still seemed to deem it as the same thing.

Piper decided not to answer.

Annabeth smiled and looked over at the crazy pair in front of her. Yeah, they were crazy, but they were her boys, and she couldn't ask for anything more.

By noon, most of the campers had made it to the reunion and the pavilion was completely packed with demigods. Annabeth said hello to new and old friends, as she walked over to the table where Percy and Luke were sitting.

At the rounded table was the seven half-bloods from that quest that seemed so long ago, but was still fresh in her mind. Leo sat across from her and Percy was Calypso seated at his side (long story). Next to them was Piper and Jason, with Silena sitting between them. Hazel and Frank were next to them, and then Percy and Annabeth with Luke.

At the table next over was Reyna and her mortal boyfriend, Nick, Annabeth thought his name was. Next to them was Nico di Angelo and Will Solace, and when Annabeth looked over, Nico smiled at her. She returned it. After many years of not exactly speaking to each other before Nico told Percy his secret, she and Nico had become very good friends. As did Percy and Nico.

He was gradually getting happier, as were Annabeth and Percy, and Nico loved Luke, so he always volunteered to look after him if Hazel or Frank weren't available. Especially with them expecting, Nico was able to watch after Luke more often.

Annabeth spotted other friends from Camp Half-Blood as well, like her half-brother Malcolm, and Clarisse and Chris Rodriguez who now had a little boy whose name was Kyle. Grover and Juniper were there as well with their two daughters, Leila and Daisy.

Suddenly, someone placed their hands over Annabeth's eyes, obscuring her vision, and she jumped instantly. Her sense were still as alert as ever, and she spun around on her attacker.

She was stopped abruptly with the laughter that came from her attacker as Annabeth pinned him up against a tree.

"It's nice to see you too, cuz," her attacker said, and Annabeth's jaw dropped when she realized it was Fletcher Robertson standing in front of her.

"Fletcher!" she cried as she pulled him into a hug. He had gotten taller, and his blond hair had gotten a little darker.

"How have you been?" Fletcher asked while pulling away from Annabeth.

"I've been good! What about you?" Annabeth asked as she led Fletcher back over to the table.

"Good!" Fletcher said.

"Gods, I feel like we haven't seen each other in forever," Annabeth said, and it was true. After Percy and Annabeth left for New Rome to attend college together, which was seven years ago, she hadn't seen Fletcher as often as she would have liked.

"I know," Fletcher said while running a hand through his hair, "but I do have some news."

"Oh really?" Annabeth asked. Fletcher grinned and nodded while gesturing for someone to come over. Lacy, from the Aphrodite cabin, came over, and Fletcher hooked his arm around her waist. Annabeth knew that they had been dating, but she didn't know what to expect.

"We're engaged," Fletcher said with a grin, and Annabeth's jaw dropped before she let out a very un-Annabeth-like squeal and pulled them both in for a hug.

"Oh my gods! That's amazing!" she said and pulled back to look at them. "Congratulations!"

"What? What happened?" she heard the demigods at her table ask in curiosity from behind her.

"Fletcher's engaged!" she called to them, and they were met by a series of applause. Fletcher and Lacy were both blushing rather profusely, and Annabeth was genuinely happy for them. Fletcher had gone through enough heartbreak that he deserved someone good for him, and he had found it in Lacy. She was beaming with excitement.

"Fletcher that now means that you're my brother-in-law," Piper said with a snicker as Fletcher and Lacy walked over to the table.

"Oh gods," Fletcher said, and then they all broke into laughter.

"Where's Skye?" Annabeth asked and Fletcher frowned while looking around.

"I'm not sure," he said. "She said she would be here."

Annabeth frowned and looked around for Skye, but didn't see her anywhere. She shrugged and sat back down, prepared to dig into the wonderfully delicious food in front of her.

After everyone ate, there was a camp fire, and Annabeth truly felt like she was home. Even though Camp Half-Blood will always be her home, New Rome came at a second best.

She was sitting on a log, using it as a bench, as the other Apollo demigods – both Greek and Roman – led the campfire songs. Annabeth was snuggled up next to Percy with her head on his shoulder, and his arm around her. Luke was sitting on the ground in front of them with his legs crossed, and Silena was next to him, as were Grover's girls, Leila and Daisy.

After a long day of swimming and catching up with everyone, Annabeth could tell the kids were tired. Luke's eyes were slowly drooping, and Silena had already curled up and fell asleep on the ground in front of Piper and Jason.

"I can't believe you guys started a campfire without me," someone said in a mix of annoyance and anger. Annabeth turned and gasped when she saw Skye walked towards them with Connor Stoll behind her.

"Skye!" Annabeth said and jumped up to hug her cousin. Skye laughed as Annabeth engulfed her in a hug. She looked, for the most part, the same. Her light hair was pulled back in a braid as it always was, and her eyes still shone brightly like the sky.

"Sorry we're late," Skye apologized as Percy stood up and gave her a hug. Annabeth was satisfied to see that this time – she didn't blush when he did.

"It was this dingus's fault," Skye said and pointed to Connor who gave Annabeth a hug and then Percy.

"It was not," Connor protested. Skye glared at him, and he shut his mouth as if he knew when to stop talking. The last time Annabeth had seen the two of them was about a year and a half ago at their wedding. It was at Camp Half-Blood, and Annabeth was glad to really be home, and she was also happy for her cousin.

"At the airport he stole a bag of chips from a store and long story short, we ended up missing our flight and had to get on the next one," Skye said while rolling her eyes. Annabeth laughed, not at all surprised that Connor would end up doing that.

"Anyways, where's my favorite nephew?" Skye asked, looking around.

"Aunt Skye!" Luke said as if he heard her. Luke ran as fast as his little legs could take him, and Skye smiled as she lifted him up.

"Hey little man," she said. Luke frowned and crossed his arms over his chest.

"I'm not little. I'm big and strong like my daddy!" Luke said, and the adults all laughed around him.

"Okay, okay," Skye said, "you're right. What monsters did you fight today?"

"Well, there was a big scary monster in the woods, but I cut it down with my sword with Daddy, and then Mommy and I fought another monster on the beach and-"

Skye gave Percy and Annabeth a look as if to ask if this was true. Annabeth and Percy just shook their heads, with amused smiles on their faces.

"Wow, you are really strong," Skye said, going along with Luke's antics. Luke smiled and nodded. Skye put him down on the ground gently.

"Why don't you go play with the other kids?" Skye asked, and Luke nodded before running back over to the campfire. He sat down next to Leila and Daisy, since Silena was now asleep in Jason's arms, and he started playing Rock-Paper-Scissors with Leila.

"We have some news," Skye said once Luke was gone and turned to Percy and Annabeth.

"We're expecting," she said, and Annabeth gasped yet again while leaping forward to hug her.

"That's amazing!" Annabeth said. All of this news was making her so ecstatic for all of the people that she loved that she felt like her heart was going to explode.

After all of these years, she knew that they deserved it, especially after everything they went through.

"Congrats guys," Percy said while also giving each of them a hug. Before they could continue, Reyna stepped up, with a well-earned applause. Once the applause died down, Reyna smiled at the crowd and took a deep breath.

"I'm glad that all of you could make it," she said. "We've all become so close over the years, especially after all that we've been through together, and I think that the gods have finally rewarded us with these blissful years."

She was met with a few whoops of approval, and she smiled until it died down. Annabeth and Percy sat back down on the log with Luke at their feet. Annabeth rested her head on Percy's shoulder and Percy laced his fingers together with hers.

"We're all warriors," Reyna continued, "we're fighters, and yes we've gone through a lot, but we're here now and that's what matters. We've made it this far, and we're going to keep fighting, not only for ourselves but for the ones we love."

"Being a demigod isn't easy, but I'm glad that during my years of helping the gods, I could do it with people like you all. You've all grown up and made wonderful families for yourselves, and I think that that's something to be proud of. Each and every one of you is strong, and I think that we have our own family in itself. And I couldn't have asked for a better one."

When Reyna finished her speech, she was met with immense amounts of applause. She smiled and stepped back over to where Nick was waiting. He was the only mortal allowed into the camp boundaries – after countless fights with Terminus – and he surprisingly handled the whole half-god situation well. Annabeth has never seen Reyna happier.

"Do you want to take a trip?" Percy asked suddenly, and Annabeth frowned while looking up at him. Luke was currently trying to roast a marshmallow with Leo, and Annabeth needed to avert her eyes from the scene.

"Where?" Annabeth asked. Percy looked down at her and smiled.

"I kind of miss home."

"You want to go back to camp?" Annabeth asked. She had to agree, she missed it so much that it hurt, but she also loved her home here. She was safe here with her family. But she was safe at Camp Half-Blood, too.

"I do," Percy said, "just for a while. I want to see my mom, and I miss camp."

Annabeth smiled and leaned up to kiss him sweetly.

"I'd love to."

Percy grinned at her, and kissed her once more.

"Good," he said.

They were going home.
