Chapter 25:

It wasn't like Karkat wanted to make friends. He wanted to choose the project god tier specimens and get it over with, how hard could that be? Very hard apparently. Over the course of the first school semester he had fallen in love, had typical highschool experiences and by the time summer rolled around, he was extremely scared that he would be once again subject to torment in an experimental chamber. Every time a break in the year came along (like thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks) Karkqt would once again dread being alone at the school. The only people for company being that hacker kid Sollux (he kind of hated his family. Or something of the sort) who would just stay inside his dorm playing videogames all day, and Gamzee Makara. Need I say anything more.

So due to this unfortunate factor, he would end up getting high on some weird jello stuff and forced to sleepover at Gamzee's. And unluckily for Karkat, the school happened to supply bunkbeds for this particular room. He would have to request that the new universe be void of any thing comprising of the words 'bunk' and 'bed' (plural or not). And speaking of the new universe, he was growing more unsure about the whole plan.

He didn't really know exactly what The Condense was planning aside from his role in it all and the fact that they'd be making a new universe via dead teenagers (that our lovely Karcrab would supply) and other... Things. Karkat didn't like thinking about those things. But he really didn't know whether he wanted to go through with this plan. He would probably go through it, but did he want to? His whole purpose for existing was for this plan, just like every other species was put on this earth to reproduce and pass on the best genes. He patted off the bed he had just finished making and opened the door leading out to the long hallway of dorms. Normally he would veer right to head to his room (413), sit on his (thankfully not bunk) bed and scroll through the internet and forget the world with the things it has to offer. Instead he went left. He didn't exactly want to, but he had to at some point.

Karkat Vantas exited the dorms, passed the pool (who's only inhabitants were Meenah and... Yeah that was it) and the other buildings and schoolrooms and the large "amphibitheatre" (the nickname had stemmed from a school story that all the escaped frogs from science dissections made their homes in the ceilings and under the floorboards. They were, in actuality, probably just rats), he eventually made his way to the large mansion where HIC lived.

He hoped to slip in, slip out, and go back to... Doing anything but what he was about to do. Of course, this plan didn't really work out since the door was answered by jack noir who, consequently wanted Karkat to do a couple hundred push-ups and do a couple of errands for him. And after, Karkat ran into Ms. Maryam (the Dolorosa) who insisted on tea and a long talk about a large assortment of things. By the time he actually got to the Condense's office, it was almost midnight and he was getting a bit of spam from a certain "coolkid" and Terezi, who were basically just asking about his time off (he told them that he was staying with family and not being trapped at school with Gamzee).

He pushed the door open and saw HIC there with two other kids, a girl and boy. "I sea you're here early", the sarcastic tone she used was almost as cynical and bitter as Karkat's mood right now (Almost). He rolled his eyes and plopped into a chair, arms crossed and red irises entering into a staring contest with the Condense's fushia ones. His inevitably lost but that was just since he wanted to leave ASAP (he could've won if he wanted to though...).

"Anyway, these two are Caliope and Caliborn. They have roles in this plan along with yourself, Caliborn will host this universe while Caliope will host the next. And you, will host the switch." She said, to the point, making sure to get the message across that Karkat would fulfill his role in this.

"AND THE GOD TIER KIDS?"

"I have somefin else in mind"

A/N: ok I did it! I updated before summer ended. So I start highschool now. Oh yay. I'm excited yet dreading it. So I'll hopefully update more(?) but I think that setting a schedual makes me update less, so I'll just let you know if I'm planning to go on hiatus. Otherwise, just expect updates any old time. I'm gonna do a time skip in a few chapters and hopefully get those OC's in there! So yay.
