Yeah I know what you are all thinking about time! So here it is, I sheepishly admit I had lost inspiration but I knew after playing some resident evil I would find inspiration once more, LOL! I hope you all enjoy it! :D

Secured Interview (Part 2)

I held the clipboard firmly in hand and thought about what I should do. I glanced around the room to get an idea of what I would have to deal with.

The men in the room seemed very relaxed, most of them were talking amongst each other, others were just eyeing the area, all in all very normal looking guys except for Leon and another man. Leon had his eyes closed and his arms were crossed over his chest, he looked like he was asleep but his furrowing eyebrows made me think otherwise. The other man was named Raul Alvarado who's face I recognized because I had crossed paths with him before on another mission: he was a spy but no one knew who he worked for, but from experience he was pretty harmless, he was looking intently at me and it was striking a nerve.

"Selene." Alfonso called from the other room. I got up using the wall as support but unable to suppress my pain I let out a groan, Leon shifted in his seat but Abilio was next to me in seconds helping me get up. Abilio walked me to the next room. "You should not push her to far Mr. Navarra, her wounds are recent." Abilio scolded as we entered the room.

"Agreed, she will rest after this I promise." Alfonso gestured Abilio to seat me next him. I was slowly seated by Abilio and Alfonso (even though his help wasn't needed). "Abilio do you mind just giving us a minute." Alfonso said, it was more of a statement than a question. Abilio looked at me, I nodded.

"Excuse me." Abilio nodded and exited the room.

"It seems he's more loyal to you than to me." Alfonso said turning to look at me.

I met his gaze unafraid, "So what did you need to speak to me so privately about?" He wouldn't ask Abilio to leave for no reason.

"What is your impression of the men out there?" He said organizing the files he had spread out over his desk into one pile.

"You mean, who seems qualified for the job?" I asked, it felt as if he was asking me if I liked any of them.

"Yes." He answered shortly.

"Well judging by not only appearances…" I had to make it as if I was really deliberating who seemed qualified for the job, I couldn't just pick Leon off the bat, it would be too suspicious. Though, with this opportunity there was a greater chance to eliminate the competition and get Leon hired. "You really trust my judgment." I said chuckling, but I grabbed my side as I felt a sharp pain stab me.

"I trust you unconditionally." He is making this way too easy for me. But I can't be too obvious.

I closed my eyes and put on a serious face, "Well judging by more than appearances and on facts," I said picking up my thoughts from before, "there are only four candidates that seem worthy." I signaled him to hand me my clipboard. Alfonso eyed me curiously as he handed it to me. "We have Raul Alvarado who has done previous bodyguard work and has high recommendations from his past employers. Leon Kennedy who is an ex US government official like myself, so plenty experience there and the twins Miguel and Sebastian Castelo who were in the army seven years prior to this, so they are combat ready." I said finishing my analysis.

Alfonso puzzled his chin and nodded his head several times, completely agreeing to my suggestion. "Abilio." He called. Abilio came rushing in on demand. "I'd like for you to escort everyone who is not Raul Alvarado, Leon Kennedy and Miguel and Sebastian Castelo out of my estate and once that is done, please escort Raul Alvarado in here and bring us something to drink, lemonade would be nice." Alfonso handed Abilio my clipboard and after doing so Abilio bowed and left. After a couple of minutes later he came with Raul and a tray with a pitcher and matching drinking glasses on it. After serving us our drinks Abilio left once more.

"Take a seat Mr. Alvarado." Alfonso said courteously. "We have reviewed your resume, quite impressive. You seem to be very good at this line of work but I'd like to hear a little more from you on this subject, tell me, did you ever encounter a dangerous situation and how did you handle it?"

He chuckled briefly and rubbed his forehead, still smiling.

"Is something the matter?" Alfonso asked, his voice taking an icy turn.

"Excuse me I didn't mean to go off like that but it's just so hard to pick out of all the dangerous situations I have been through, which one would be the most interesting." He chuckled again. "Right, I remember. Prior to living here I was doing some work out in Russia. My previous employer was in charge of a museum of ancient relics passed down by the royal families way back in the day. I was in charge of security and well one day a gang of robbers or spies you could say broke in and well what else was I suppose to do? I stopped those men solid in there tracks almost, completely single handedly."

"It sounds like a tall tale." I said mocking him. Of course this story wasn't entirely a lie considering I had been a part of it. But of course Raul excluded and changed most of the detail: his previous employer was a thief of relics and that the gang of robbers was actually a team (which I was a part of) sent by the government to retrieve those relics and he didn't stop anyone, he fled the scene as soon as he could.

He shrugged at my comment, "You do have my package of recommendation letters don't you?" He countered.

"True but, I judge actions not words." I said seriously. Raul shrugged again.

"That will be all Mr. Alvarado, thank you." Alfonso gestured him out but Abilio saw to it that he was escorted back to the waiting room. "Abilio please escort Mr. Kennedy in." Alfonso didn't say or ask anything regarding Raul but I'm sure we would discuss the interviewed at the end of this.

Abilio came in followed by Leon who before taking a seat cordially gestured his hand to Alfonso, "Nice to meet you Mr. Navarra and thank you for this opportunity." Alfonso shook it firmly, he seemed pleased with Leon's personality from the start. Then Leon turned to look at me, "Nice to meet you miss?"

"Selene Blackwell, likewise Mr. Kennedy, I am sorry I can't greet you properly, as you can see I'm not in a good condition." I said smiling, keeping this charade up was easy enough even though it was kind of weird.

"I hope you get better soon." Leon said, sincerity in his words.

"Thank you." I added.

"Mr. Kennedy, this is an astounding resume, you seemed to have worked in the same branch as Selene, did you two ever meet?" Alfonso was completely curious eyeing me and Leon as if looking for any reaction.

"I may have but I don't recall, it was a long time ago and I was in charge of guarding the president's family, there was no time to socialize. To do the job and keep the subjects away from harms way was our number one priority." He said seriously.

"Yes I see. Do you mind me asking why is it that you left that position, you earn well why give that up?" The same thing he asked me…

"While that is true, the job is really exhausting and plus I like to travel, staying in one place too long wasn't my style." He said smirking. I had to stop myself from gasping considering that what he just said was almost the exact same thing I had said to Alfonso when he had asked me that question.

"Is that so? Hmm," Alfonso's tone changed as if he were angry all of a sudden, his face didn't give anything away but if I hadn't seen his anger state and experienced it first hand I would have thought he was just being serious, "thank you Mr. Kennedy. Abilio bring me Sebastian and Miguel Castelo next." As Leon walked back, I saw Alfonso's eyes narrow slightly, I pretended not to notice.

Soon after the Castelo twins entered and they were identical, the same light red hair and serious face, the only thing that differentiated them was the clothes. As they entered they gave us a sturdy salute, which surprised me but Alfonso seemed to enjoy it. "At ease men and please take a seat."

"So seven years in the army? What was that like?" I asked, I'm pretty sure it was similar to the training given to agents but it could be harder.

"Well miss, we have seen our fair share of wars and we did what we had to do in order to save lives and keep ours as well."

"So what made you two quit the frontline work?" Alfonso asked.

"We finished our seven year duty promise but we like this line of work." Sebastian answered.

"I can't imagine another job we could belong to, we are accustom to saving lives and we will do so as long as we live." Miguel said wholeheartedly, the sincerity of his words seeped through me and I could relate to the feeling.

"That's very admirable of you two." I said smiling.

"Thank you miss." They answered in unison. Still they sounded like robots.

"Thank you, Abilio please escort them back to the waiting room." After Abilio left with the twins, Alfonso turned to look at me. "What are you thinking?" He asked staring at me.

"Like I figured they really were the best of the group you assembled." I said indifferently. "I've told you what I think but all evening you haven't told me what you think." I wanted to get inside his head, at first he seemed happy about hiring more security but now it seemed he wasn't so keen on it.

"Mr. Alvarado seems over confident in his skills not to mention he has a big ego, the Castelo twins seem to me as if they belong more in the army as soldiers than in an estate as bodyguards and finally Mr. Kennedy…he seems to like you." He said annoyed, he brought out his handkerchief and removed his glasses to clean them.

His annoyance was due to the similarities Leon and I shared, he was worried I would correspond the feeling? Definitely the attraction I had to Leon was only my feeling. Leon is a nice guy, who cares and worries and I'm his partner it's only natural it would seem that he liked me but, I had to reassure Alfonso. I needed Leon here and that silly thought, better said suspicion Alfonso had could jeopardize things.

I gave a light laugh, "What silly things you think of besides, there is somebody I already like he's been watching over me for a while now." I knew what I was implying with my words of encouragement towards Alfonso and no doubt he would be more persistent with me but I saw no other way around.

He smiled briefly but there was no gesture towards me, "So do you think you can handle these four men?" He asked.

"I know with Gregorio's help I can." As I said that, Alfonso's face changed, he was upset once more. "We're done here." He got up leaving me seated, he walked into the next room where the men waited. "I'd like to congratulate the four of you, Ms. Blackwell and myself have found you to be worthy candidates for this position. With that being said I expect you all here tomorrow morning to receive further instructions from Ms. Blackwell who as you may or may not have known is my head of security."

I frowned as I heard what he was saying, I was head of security now? When did this happen and why wasn't Gregorio back yet, what was the errand that he had so gravely given to Gregorio. I just felt like I had more challenges up ahead.

Abilio entered the room and it's as if he shared my worries. "Do you need some assistance Ms. Blackwell?"

"Yes, please." Abilio carefully helped me up and walked me into the other room, the men were getting ready to leave and heading out the door one by one, I looked at Raul, who seemed to already have much on his mind, I knew I would have to keep a close eye on him because he was obviously looking for something. The Castelo twins gave me a sturdy salute before leaving which I responded by nodding. Finally Leon and I just exchanged glances, he had a grave expression and before leaving completely out the door turned around to look up, I followed his gaze and atop the staircase Alfonso was watching but it was more of a glare.

A/N: So there we have it, I'm soooooo sorry this took sooooo long and I know this chapter is kind of short! I've been really busy at work and haven't had time but hopefully I will be able to update regularly, at least get an update for one of my stories each week.

So we have a couple of mysteries going on, Selene being promoted all of a sudden, Raul who is a shady spy, the antagonism already between Leon and Alfonso and where is Gregorio?!

All answers revealed for those of you who wait and read ahah LOL! :D
