Before we begin, I want to make it clear the point of this project: it is not supposed to be brilliant; it is supposed to help me collect data for understanding what is liked and what is not in writing. I want you all to understand this and I ask that you help if you can by being completely honest and telling me your thoughts. Be as specific as you can and elaborate if at all possible. There are parts that do not make exception sense, there are plot holes, there are convenient forced plot points. The difference between this version and the previous is that you are aware of the fact that this is an experiment in the hopes that you will be more willing to be honest in its quality as the majority of you were too afraid to do so as you probably thought it would hurt me feelings or the like. I am telling you to not hold back. I know its quality is not the best. Much of this is done on purpose. In the writing itself, the majority of revisions is the deletion or complete reconstruction of certain scenes that were just way out there. As in beyond orbiting Saturn. I also included some more in-depth explanations and did some research to help specify certain details. I will not, however, get rid of the fact that Allen's Anima is larger than average. I repeat, complete honesty and the more in-depth, the better. Do not restrain for fear of hurting my feelings, etc. Lying is more hurtful in the long run. This is to help me improve my writing by first understanding what people specifically do not enjoy while still constructing a story that people will continue to read; to make bad, but not so bad that people will get completely fed up and quit- at least for a majority of people. Some will do so anyway and that is understood. I have ideas for many plot points, but I also intend to not have Allen and the others interfering too much in Harry's issues, at least directly. I am open to suggestions for those who want to see something in particular happen and if I can find a way to incorporate it, I will see what I can do. Don't worry, this is almost done for those of you still reading this. To recap, this is basically Part 2 of my experiment and I hope that with the knowledge of this being an experiment that more of you will help in my research and provide me with more accurate results than in Part 1. So, thank you all for your cooperation (hopefully) and I hope that at least some of you still enjoy the story for however long it lasts. My hope is to finish all the way through the end of book series, but my goal for now is simply finishing book 5 story line. I will try to explain as much as I can, but I am also aware that my social skills are not the best and I have issues getting my point across sometimes, so if anyone has any questions, let me know and I will get back with a hopefully better explanation. Without further ado, here's the new Prologue- almost completely the same with a little extra included.
Prologue
After Mana's death and resurrection, not only was Allen's Innocence awoken, but the Noah inside also began to emerge. Knowing nothing of the Innocence, he was consoled by the man known as Neah Walker, Mana's younger twin brother, who resided inside him. Allen admitted to knowing that Mana's love was a false one but wanted to know what it felt like, even if just for a short while. He got so attached to this 'love' that he briefly forgot it wasn't real which is why he agreed to the Millennium Earl's deal. Neah told Allen the basics of Innocence and Dark Matter until a man named Marian Cross, General of the Black Order, interrupted and forced Allen into an apprenticeship. Cross knew not of Allen's contact with the Noah inside, nor did Allen ever dare say he had. Neah told him everything, not all at once, but not when he felt like after necessary. He told his story, as well as his connection to Cross and the real reasons behind why he was conveniently there just hours after the boy had slain the Akuma his adopted father had become.
About a year after Allen was apprenticed to General Cross, he was enrolled in Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was practically living a double-life secretly attending the school according to Neah's guidance, and traveling and training with Cross when not at the school. Allen found he got little rest as he was always doing something. Of course, Allen's time and the time he spent at Hogwarts were over a century apart, so Allen wondered how the owl with the letter found him. As it turned out, the owl came from the Hogwarts in 19th century, same year as Allen, but the letter included a Post Script. It was arranged by Neah, just before his death. However, he arranged for it to apply in the 1990's, even going so far as to creating ID's for the time period. Allen as he was at the time was not the first Allen. He was once a different person decades prior; he had been best friends with Neah and Mana and volunteered his own life and body to Neah by forcefully implanting his memories into his own. They knew of the consequences of the actions they took beforehand and made some preparations such as the Hogwarts letter as the twin brothers and the original 'Allen' first met at a wizarding academy, Mahoutokoro School of Magic, as children and the magic would pass down even after his regression, but he arranged it to be in the future as it would be so soon after they had already been there. Perhaps if they had been regular students they might have been quickly forgotten, but the trio were well known in their time as prodigies in their own specific studies and were expected to do great things, but one day in their 16th year, the twins dropped out and disappeared. Allen dropped out a few months after they left, hunting them down. None of them were ever heard from again, but their stories and accomplishments were great and would not die down for a long time and as Allen's appearance was much the same as it had been all those years ago, attending during a different time period far enough into the future that they would not be remembered by the staff or students and hopefully any migrating residence ghosts.
When asked, Neah told Allen, his precious little nephew, that the Ark had a special ability created by Neah and known only by Neah, and now Allen, that allowed its operator, A.K.A. the Musician, to travel across time as well. The downside to the Ark's ability is that one could not cross their own time stream, this included interfering with one's past self. Of course when Neah learned about time turners, he sulked for weeks over all the work he had done to create time travel being useless. Using the Ark to quickly switch between attending his classes at Hogwarts and traveling with Cross was tricky at first, but became second-nature to him by the end of his first year. He continued this until, suddenly, near the end of his third year he disappeared from the school completely.
Laarsa* Campbell was never very well known throughout the school; he was very adept when it came to staying out of sight. He did, however, get close to a select few, albeit on accident, the first being a platinum blond boy with a superiority complex from the same house and class as himself. His name was Draco Malfoy. Laarsa did not always approve of Malfoy's actions, especially those he initiated outside the house dorms, but he found him interesting and made a connection that no one else ever would; he was the only one who would ever know this secret side to the young Malfoy boy.
There were two boys from a well-known ginger family- to which he knew multiple but these were by far his first- that had a particular taste for pranks and fun. These twins were the rare ones that Laarsa would find himself fraternizing with on occasion. Laarsa's knowledge on potions and chemistry were found useful by the boys named Fred and George Weasley and he was often consulted for help in new prank concoctions, not that they ever told the younger boy what they used his knowledge for. Laarsa knew, of course, and the boys knew he knew, but for plausible deniability, they never openly acknowledged this. Laarsa agreed to helping so long as he was permitted to do the finer mixes so as to not cause incident and that he could be exempt from attempted pranks or prior informed of mass targeting. The relationship was more business based than it was friendship in Laarsa's opinion, but from the other party he was seen as the brilliant younger brother that the older siblings were proud of but refused to admit so as to push for further improvement. They were some of the biggest contributors to the hunt for what happened to Laarsa when it was realized that he had disappeared sometime during the Sirius Black fiasco as well as conspiracy theories and the spread of the boy's name altogether. The Weasley twins are the main reason for the popularity of Laarsa's existence and disappearance. His experience and time with these two boys helped spark and kindle the friendship he would later acquire with a likewise hyper, prank-prone red head.
The Golden Trio, as they became known as, consisting of Harry Potter, the possibly only reason Laarsa was able to keep up his invisibility charade even after he was forced to remove his hood in several classes, revealing his shocking white-silver hair and blood-red scar; Ronald Weasley, the youngest enrolled Weasley child (until second year) in a long line of Weasley gone and yet to come, as well as the best friend of the famous Harry Potter; and Hermione Granger, the brains of the group and one Laarsa found himself closest to among the trio were among those he had some level of friendship. He was not particularly close to them, but he was acquainted to the point that they realized he was not a bad person despite being from the house of which theirs discriminates against as being evil or the like.
In his second year, when the mishap with the Heir of Slytherin and his pet basilisk petrifying students, ghosts, and cats, Laarsa had also met the next in line in the Weasley family, Ginny(Ginevra). Ginny was one of the few who got truly close to Laarsa during his stay at Hogwarts, and was also only the second to see through Laarsa's fake smile. Of course, she confronted him about this when they were alone nearly half-way through his third year, her second. He never felt romantic feelings for her, nor her he, but they found each other trustworthy to confide in.
The last person, of course, was Luna Lovegood. She was the first person he met at Hogwarts in his second year, though no one else seemed to notice they existed. Though they rarely saw each other, they would always enjoy the other's eccentricities and he was able to relax and not hold back around her. She was the only one with which he shared his other name Allen Walker and his secrets of circumstance. Luna was perhaps his best friend in his time at Hogwarts.
Though Allen never knew, Laarsa's disappearance was huge throughout the school, not just those he got to know. The Golden Trio didn't know what to make of it. They came up with theories, but none seemed probable, only some were even slightly plausible. Draco, though no one ever knew, had something of a breakdown. The only person he could truly confide in and be himself without fear of judgment had vanished and he took it out on others, specifically anyone associated with Harry Potter or who goes against the principles of Slytherin. Ginny would occasionally ask around if anyone had heard from Laarsa, but found a way to move on eventually. She still thinks of him often, though. Luna was seemingly unaffected. This might have bothered most people, or hurt them deeply, but she knew a bit about what was happening. She told any who asked her that he had probably gone back to his own time, over 100 years prior; to fight in a Holy War not many knew much about. Of course, this was ridiculous and utterly impossible, so she was written off as either crazy or a liar, or both; her story remained a popular rumor as an over-exaggerated example and personal favorite of certain theorists. Even the teachers were dumbfounded and didn't know what to make of it. Rumors circulated around the school and Laarsa Campbell's invisibility was torn apart. Everyone knew who Laarsa was by the end of the summer of 1994 after the invasion of Sirius Black and the Dementors; though the rumors began to die down, talk and speculation did not cease.
The year after his disappearance, students told all the newcomers about the strange albino boy from another time who disappeared the previous year. Some even offered rewards to any who had connections to find out what happened, but none ever could. The hype seemed to calm down quickly, though, since it was the year Hogwarts hosted the Triwizard Tournament, but even to the students of the other two schools were the stories spread. It would have continued all year, too, until the final task ended and Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory appeared port key in hand. Cedric was announced dead, and Harry claimed the resurrection of Lord Voldemort, also Cedric's murderer. The mood of the year was killed and joy ceased to exist. Although briefly mentioned at times, Laarsa was assumed dead as well. With that, and the return of the other schools to their respective native lands, the year of the Triwizard Tournament came to an end.
Now, they were in for a big surprise the upcoming year, for not only was a familiar face returning, but he was bringing along a few friends.
Years after the Holy War ended finds the last few survivors living together, usually in the Ark- the original. They all have their own separate rooms, but they typically stick together as a bond had been made making them nearly inseparable as they were the only ones able to understand and console each other as well as for the next fifty years, none of them seemed to age. They found the true meaning behind the Destroyer of Time. Actually, there were three meanings. The first was that Allen was able to time travel, though he and Neah were still the only ones that knew about that. The second being the Millennium Earl, who Allen single-handedly killed, or rather Allen beat him in a one-on-one duel and the man called Adam, formerly Mana, seemed to just disintegrate into dust before combusting and leaving nothing behind, and the title was inherited as the only being connected with the Millennium Earl due to Neah being half of the original. The third meaning was that Allen found his Innocence was the Heart, which would only be found in one who manifests Innocence literally as one's own heart, and is the only Innocence powerful enough to rival the Millennium Earl. The Heart went to the one who stood for neither team solely and the one who would become the third party and end the Holy War as it should, with no winning team of Innocence or Dark Matter, but a combined party built on trust and companionship and love and loyalty and true family, not on servant or obliged. The Heart granted to its possessor and his surviving third party immortality as a reward and curse for ending the Holy War and causing the deaths of Noah and Black Order members who continued the war.
Most of the Noah family died in the final battles. Most exorcists did as well. Some finders and Black Order staff managed to survive the war. Most of them, after the end, left the Order to go back to their homes and families, including Johnny Gill. Others like the Great Generals, who never fought, and Leverrier were sentenced to life in prisons around the world, courtesy of those who were repressed and abused by them.
The survivors of the Holy War were few in numbers, but they were all that they needed. Allen, with Neah inside acting as one, was the leader and creator of the group. Tyki Mikk, Road Camelot, and Wisely were the Noah that joined him. Tyki couldn't resist teaming up with his little shounen and Road wanted to be by Neah and Allen's side as well. Neither could stand Adam near the end: he began to abuse the Noah as he became desperate and his requests were illogical and not entirely possible. Fed up, they had been planning to leave Adam anyway, but then came Allen, with a perfect solution handed to them on a silver platter. It was irresistible and exactly what they wanted, even if they didn't know it at the time. They agreed on the spot with no hesitation. Wisely grew an attachment to Allen, claiming he was never bored when the smaller white-haired boy was around and he never listened to the Earl anyway. Though that was true, it was only part of his reasoning. It was also true that Allen's ability as the Musician helped to block out the noise of others, so there was a level of security and comfort in doing so. He refused to reveal his reasons in their entirety in order to save face in his opinion, however. Yuu Kanda and Lavi Bookman Jr. were the third party exorcists. Kanda said he didn't really care when he joined, but his pride was covering his relief over the escape from the Black Order. He never liked it and he owed Allen for all he had done; he owed his life to the shortest male. Lavi wanted to join; he was all for it, but until Bookman died, he felt obliged to stay with the old man. He mourned his death, but moved on and joined the crew soon after, leaving behind his duties as Bookman to the other members of the clan. Although not an official exorcist or Noah, Howard Link swore himself to Allen and the 14th's cause when the other CROW members were confirmed killed and nothing else held him to the Order.
Lenalee Lee had also joined up, but she had perished in an attempt to save her older brother, Komui Lee, before they were granted immortality post-war. They were mangled and bloody and buried under rumble, but they were together and smiling when Allen dug them out. He gave them a proper funeral, burying them together as they were found, cleaned up, of course. He buried them back in China, behind the house where the siblings used to live.
Such was the merry group that became the famous survivors (winners) of the Holy War. Their story was told, made legend, but very little was ever written down for the public. Lavi wrote a book with the help of the others consisting of most of the history of the Holy War, but it was kept in the Ark's Library. Stories were lost and distorted over time until it was nearly unheard of by the general populace. There is a rumor circulating throughout the world that if there are any supernatural incidents, requests could be delivered at certain designated points around the globe to investigate and resolve these mysteries, often caused by the Akuma still roaming the world. Whether these rumors spoke true was unknown as clients who allegedly requested their help never admitted to doing so.
*Laarsa- Sumerian word for red, referring to "seeing a red light"; used in reference to Allen's name "Red" before meeting Mana without using the actual name for questioning the use of a color for a name in plain English
I have decided that revealing Allen to the others at Hogwarts will not happen as or when it did in the original, but I have not quite decided on how I will handle it in this version. I have a few ideas on how to go about it, but I am as of yet undecided. If anyone wants to give their input I will use the version closest to that, if not... well, we'll see what happens. Once again, if anyone has any questions, I will do my best to answer them and explain, or at least let you know if there are intentions to have it mentioned later on. Anyway, thanks for reading, and for those of you that have been following, thanks for sticking around as long as you have and I hope you stick around a little longer. Until next time, Ciao.
