A/N hi!

So I is back with another Merlin oneshot! My previous ones were pretty popular, so I decided try it again. ;)

Enjoy!

"They're back!"

"They're back?"

The guards took on the cry until it reached Uther, putting a small, relieved smile on his face at his son's safe return from another hunting trip.

However, if he had traveled out of the castle and into town, he would've met quite a sceptical.

The usual, somewhat curious crowd of citizens surrounded the returning Prince and his manservant, but most of them were gawking.

What, you think they brought back a giant boar or some other impressive hunting trophy? Do you know how atrocious Merlin's stealth skills are?!

Note how I had said most were gawking. The rest were desperately trying not to laugh. As difficult as that was, they'd rather wait out the pain of surpressed laughter until the prince to pass out of earshot then end up in the stocks for a week. Arthur looked pretty miffed.

Merlin, on the other hand, was practically dancing in his saddle, grinning like he always did. He seemed rediculously happy about something.

Of course, that something was on the horse right in front of him. Merlin kept glancing at his prince and chuckling.

The two jumped off their horses and handed them over to the stable boys, then headed into the palace.

They walked through the corridors in silence.

A somewhat awkward, tense silence.

Suddenly, Merlin turned to Arthur and his face cracked into a huge, goofy grin.

"You know Arthur, purple suits you. That little Druid girl has a good sense of style."

Arthur glared through the vivid purple strands of hair in his face.

"Shut up Merlin."

A/N So you know that episode Lady of the Lake when Arthur caught Merlin trying to smuggle Morgana's dress out of the castle and the last thing he said before running off was, "Purple suits you,"?

Somehow after watching that scene I imagined a Merlin throwing it right back at Arthur, and then.. this happened... Haha. :)
