I feel awful for the way I've left this. For so long, I've thought about coming back to it, but after losing my interest in TVD, I could never find the mojo to create an ending. I've went back and read the story again, and I must apologise. It's horribly written, not that it's gotten that much better though. I've noticed so many plot holes, and I'm very embarrassed. I fell into the fiery abyss known as the supernatural fandom, and forgot other shows and movies existed. I've spent the last 3 years writing and reading SPN fanfics on AO3, and attending cons, and annoying some cast members at said cons. But, I've managed to find my TVD rhythm again, and present to you, the long awaited ending to BSSM?, which I tried to do justice, but I think I missed.

It had been 10 years since Bella had stepped foot in New Orleans, and she felt like the decision to take back the old Mikaelson stomping ground, had been the right one. What with Marcel binding witches, and segregating the wolves to the Bayou. When Nik had found out, he was furious. He may have let Marcel off his leash in the 20's but that was still no excuse for him to do such a thing to anyone, let alone a pack of his "father's" own. The family as a collective, where horrified when they found witches living in bunkhouses, under the control of vampires. Esther had been particularly helpful from the other side with breaking them of their bindings.

Bella strolled along the courtyard in search of Davina, a spirited young which who had taken to Bonnie and Elijah like a duckling imprinting on its mother. She had been young when they found her, 13, and full of power that she had no sense to handle. Bonnie had helped her train her magic to the world around her, and helped her find a connection in nature. In return, Elijah taught her how to find the confidence she had never been given a chance to discover when she was younger.

She pondered her life now, when she had chosen to cut contact with Charlie 15 years ago, she never expected to find more family that she could wish for. Niklaus, her beloved father who never once treated her like she wasn't his own. Caroline, the woman who became her sister and best friend all wrapped in one. The rest of the Mystic gang all felt like siblings, than friends. Especially Elena, who had become her best friend. The most surprising one was Liz Forbes. After the disastrous attempt on her life by her ex-husband, Liz had been turned and had taken to vampirism like a fish to water. Damon had nearly killed everyone in his path, on the way to his injured mate. He'd gotten there in the nick of time to give her blood, but hadn't been quick enough for it to heal the damage. She had turned, and he had been devastated, assuming she wouldn't want to complete the transition. Liz had slapped him, non too gently, on the arm and told him her daughter and mate were vampires, why would she ever want to leave them behind. It had truly been a remarks moment for Damon, finally having someone to love, and to be loved by. It still didn't stop him killing Bill in revenge for basically killing the love of his live, and threatening to harm Caroline.

Liz's motherly instincts had own magnified after her turning, focussing mainly on Caroline and Rebekah at first – noticing straight away that the girl had been needing a mother for over a thousand years – but then her focus shifted to Bella and Kol. Kol had been surprised by this, stating he didn't need to be mothered to death, but his actions proved otherwise. When he was feeling blood thirsty, in a way a blood bag could let quite sate, he'd find Liz and beg her to talk him down. A hug and some warm love – never scolding – always did the trick. And Bella, Liz knew she'd never had a proper mother, and made it her mission to make up for all the missed hugs and movie nights that Renee never gave her.

Bella smiled thinking about Liz. She was off globetrotting with Damon, Finn and Finn's recently found mate, Colette. She did miss her, but didn't wish her to return until she was satisfied with her adventure.

In New Orleans they'd all taken up new roles. Nik and Caroline ran the city, with the grace of a King and Queen, as only the could. Rebekah owned her own boutique that catered to more that just humans, she offered clothes that enhances a witches connection to nature, clothes lined in vervain for non-vampires. Wolves-bane laced clothing for the werewolf fearful, and even sold bags made explicitly for werewolf's to wear round their body, so when they turned back after the full moon, they had clothes to wear in whatever location they awoke.

Bonnie and Elijah opened a boarding house for witches who had no family, or no guidance. A place where they could learn about their powers, and where they could find comfort and love from a hybrid and her mate.

Stefan and Elena, surprisingly, ran a bar that was only open to supernatural creatures and humans who knew about them. These humans ranged from siblings of people who had turned, to humans who found it thrilling to hang around in a place where you were at the bottom of the food chain. Elena was a sociable person, who didn't enjoy having a large group of friends, it was quite the headache to understand, but running the bar meant she got to interact with a whole host of people from all places, and of all colours, religions and species, without being forced to keep in contact outside of the bar. Stefan brooded in the back, and kept the books balanced.

Bella and Kol ran the council that joined the three main species of New Orleans. Kol, with his affinity to witches, and being an Original Vampire meant he was able to keep those two sides in line fairly easily. Bella had the hard job, she had befriended the Alpha of the pack when she first arrived, so she had the job of keeping the wolves calm if anything went wrong. Tom, the pack leader, felt close to Bella when he first seen her, and investigated. When Kol caught him sneaking around, he'd almost killed him until Nik intervened. Nik had noticed straight away what Ton was, and introduced himself, he questions Tom on his interest in Bella and realised he could sense her connection to Thomason. Lol apologised for the attack, but Tom laughed him off stating he would do the same if their roles were reversed. Tom was a direct descendant if Thomason, and Bella loved him.

Her life wasn't always glamorous like they showed you in movies, but she wouldn't exchange it for the world. Because, who would she be, if she wasn't Bella Swan-Salvatore Mikaelson?

Please let me know you're HONEST opinion of this, because I don't think I've done it justice, but short of re-writing the whole thing, I feel like I've given it my best shot. I couldn't get back into the characters the way I'd written them before, so I went with reminiscent with no dialogue in the hopes of giving it a good send off. Much love, Ginge x
