A bit of a belated discovery and comment here... loved this look into Finch's emotional turmoil after "The Devil's Share". Poor Finch has been through so much, and it just keeps coming. He's always the calm one... like when he was talking Reese down in the hotel... but you know deep down, he's hurting inside. Very well done at exploring this side of him.

You've done an expert job of capturing Finch's profound guilt and the implications of his choice not to act that resulted in Carter's wasteful death. Losing a friend to death and another to sorrow and depression has to hit Finch hard. I wish the show had done as well as you in examining the impact of this tragedy on Finch.

Wow. You have handled the pain that Finch is feeling with such literary authority that anyone would be hard pressed not to understand it nor his need for repentance. You left me weeping with and for Finch. You made his grief real. Excellent writing.

That was awesome! I really think that was either exactly what Finch was thinking or very close. I like how you added in quotes from the show in between. Very good! I hope Reese comes back though. I might just stop watching the show if he doesn't.

This is just so good. Harold's quiet guilt is every bit as poignant and tragic as John's more overt suffering, and you convey that beautifully here.

"Harold understood why John needed distance. From the Machine. And from him." Those words are actually painful to read but they sum up both men's emotions in a very powerful way. You've really gotten to the heart of the current situation here.

And the title - River of Sorrow - is perfect and haunting.

There is a hole that Carter has left behind and it is sorely felt. I enjoyed this piece, poor Harold :'( A job well done in realistically portraying Glasses' thoughts and emotions at this point in time, perhaps you could do a companion piece with John if you were up to it? :)
