I will admit, I didn't expect this story to work - I thought it would just be PWP. Sex doesn't "belong" with Joe Dredd - it just doesn't. The comics have established this and any attempt to make it work always fails. Yes, sex can fit and belongs in the universe (with Anderson, especially, it can work) but not with Dredd himself.

And the fear is always the story will be nothing more than erotica - basically, one could switch the character names to Bob and Alice and it would be just erotic fiction without any reason.

This, however, works on both levels. The eroticism of it is (while M and NSFW) not the kind of pornographic thing one commonly finds. I don't know if it is all really necessary, but it is certainly isn't just for the sake of PWP.

And the suddenness of it, the unexpectedness of it, seems realistic. There is NO WAY Dredd would do that if he were thinking - but he is weakened by her injury, they just sort of fall into it. I am reminded of the scene with Sarah Connor and Kyle Reis in Terminator; it has that sort of quality to it. The suddenness of realization, the drive of the erotic in the face of death (Thomas Harris notices this in Red Dragon).

Good story. It works refreshingly well.

Wow. First of all- what an amazingly hot scene! Second- your descriptions and the way you make the reader feel that they are there are superb. I hope you keep writing!

Amazing! I love when writers can write a sex scene without it looking like they're doing it one handed.

Usually its really smutty and ends up looking like the writer was just really horny and wanted to type out their erotic fantasy as fast as possible. This was NOT that at all, its well written. :)

Oh my... that was intense! You sure know how to build that sexual tension and then break it with a crack, Khayr! Well, we did saw it coming the long way.. Dredd didn't stood a chance, did he? ;)

Hope they both won't be too hard on themselves later. It's unfair, how giving into something good for once (or twice, or.. more) is deemed almost crime for judges. Though, we can't be so sure if the "monk rule" is the thing in the movie-verse (in more than one way, it did seemed a good deal more reasonable than their world in the comics).

Anyways, that was hot, romantic and wow, and I loved the ending so much. Finally admitting his feelings - in a completely Dredd-way, with Anderson's respond to match - feels good, and not all that scary, after all ) Now, if you excuse me, there's a cold shower waiting with my name on it...

Seriously? I now need no Christmas presents. Beyond marvellous. Oh my poor guilty shipper's heart ;) Haha. This was really poignant. Loved the way you wrote Dredd as confused by his own motivations, that as the scene progressed Anderson understood what he'd wanted all along better than he did. A really passionate love scene with plenty of tenderness that was mind blowingly romantic. Sniffle. Thanks xx
