Figment145 chapter 16 . 2/18/2019 More Please |
Noctus Fury chapter 16 . 2/13/2018 This was really great. Loved this chapter. And the ship part was very realistic and authentic. Great work. Are they really cursed draugar, or are they just men serving a very intimidating master? Alvin the Treacherous, perhaps? I can't wait for the next chapter. I've been a reader of your story since the 4th chapter, I believe, as a Guest reviewer. I've only recently last October joined this site. You're a very great writer! Keep up the great work! Guest chapter 15 . 9/5/2017 A pretty good chapter-the dialogue and interactions between Astrid and Hiccup seem believable. What I have found most commendable in your writing thus far is that, with the exceptions of re-imaging Spitleout and Snotlout into the vilest of villains (something a fair number of fanfiction authors seem to like to do), you possess a good command of the characters core values and relationships as expressed in canon. I am a firm believer that in most fanfiction and especially in AU settings it is important that the character's depiction resonate enough with their canonical counterparts to be recognized as who they are purported to be. For example, authors who turn Hiccup into a blood-thirsty, merciless killer bent on wrecking havoc for all real or imagined wrongs (far too many "Hiccup runs away" fanfiction writers fall victim to this trap) really don't understand that it is Hiccup's ability to forgive that is fundamental to his nature. Change this too much and you have a character who cease to be Hiccup in any meaningful way and is, in fact, "Hiccup" in name alone. |
Guest chapter 8 . 9/5/2017 Another thought: writing angst for angst sake is rarely rewarding. I suspect most readers desire some kind of resolution/balance when a character goes through what you are doing to Hiccup. Otherwise what's the point in investing in the character/story? |
Guest chapter 7 . 9/5/2017 Torture scenes detailed in depth, are, IMHO, signs of poor writing ability. Plot, if handled by a capable writer, can be advanced just well and even better to a wider audience WITHOUT the need to "spell it out." If your proposed readers NEED the "gruesome details" to "feel" for the protagonist/victim that says far too much about the readers-and none of it good. Great plots/stories have been written for centuries, that while they allude to torture, rape, etc., did not feel the NEED to gratuitously share every detail. You are, despite your protests to the contrary, a most capable writer as a result YOU don't need to write this story this way. |
Guest chapter 2 . 9/5/2017 First recommendation: Can the banter. |
JenkoRun chapter 16 . 9/4/2017 Question. Are you planning to add Hiccstrid in to this story in later chapters? |
Guest chapter 15 . 6/30/2017 I like very much. Do you plan on continuing? Who is behind the evil plot to kill hiccup? |
Noctus Fury chapter 15 . 4/24/2017 It's a little disturbing when Astrid said "dominate you and have my way with you." Seriously. Hiccup's no match for Astrid and if she had her way she could easily have raped him. Not that she would, but still. lol XD I love their little moment at the end. I'm glad things were straightened out. I doubt I would've handled her any longer if she kept treating him with contempt. Please, PLEASE update soon. I love your story. Many of the HTTYD stories I'm following are on either long-term or permanent hiatus. :'( I hope you won't be next to break my heart. |
Krista Perry chapter 14 . 10/21/2016 I just found this story, and I definitely hope you keep writing this. I am so anxious to find out what happens to Hiccup and Astrid on the mountain. And Spitelout is obviously creating Hiccup's so-called disasters - he and Snotlout need some severe karma. I hope life and your muse treat you well. Your English teacher obviously wouldn't know quality writing if it bit them on the face. |
HMP chapter 14 . 8/25/2016 I will go down with this story! |
PunkkiMunki chapter 14 . 2/4/2016 Ohh please, please, please update. I just found this story and am already in love with it. You weave a great tale! :) |
Professor Sassafras chapter 14 . 1/17/2016 I have to say, I do not usually cry so easily, if at all; however, this story made me ball my eyes out with empathy and compassion for Hiccup's suffering. Congratulations on cleverly weaving such a wonderful tale. I am very intrigued to see how it ends, and I anxiously await your update! |
Guest chapter 14 . 1/2/2016 Yes, many people are still reading your story! Don't doubt it seriously, it's better than I could do. |
Noctus Fury chapter 14 . 12/7/2015 Oh! I bet he's gonna stab Hiccup, which will then turn him unto a Night Fury, and then he'll kill him, and make it look like that a Night Fury killed Hiccup and that the guy killed the Night Fury to "avenge the boy's unfortunate and untimely death." |
