Awww! I love the bit "he could barely tell which way was up" after taking her to her room. It kind of fits with how I imagine he felt after the count, but with your back story that line just has so much depth! I think this is a really beautiful and fitting end to this story and I am so glad you came back to it. Thank you. :)

Loved this chapter. Really enjoyed the conversation between Tom and Mrs. Hughes. Especially liked the last lines.

Almost as soon as the chapter started, I figured that Tom had brought Sybil up to her bedroom.

No, Tom, Sybil will not ask you to leave. Not now. Not ever.

I'm curious as to how you're going to finish this story. Is Sybil going to come down and talk to Tom? My guess is she probably will. Anyway good job, and whenever you do get a chance to update this story, I'd love to read it!
