LostSpace chapter 1 . 8/21/2016
This is real (realistic), practical, honest. Good.
Twilight-Princess5545 chapter 1 . 11/23/2013
Yay Happy ending! Great story by the way, really creative
Nichalia chapter 1 . 10/29/2013
Aww happy endings, yay.
Annemarie01 chapter 1 . 9/25/2013
After my computer crached and I had to start from scrap, I leaved through the Dragon Ages stories and I blundered upon yours. It startled me. This is by far the best "coming back together" tales I've read. I was highly surprised I never read it before. Wonderful!
Oratorio chapter 1 . 9/5/2013
Lovely. Adore their dialogue, and it's a wonderful depiction of their relationship.
jasminemilktea chapter 1 . 8/29/2013
This is beautiful. I love the awkwardness in their speech as well as the way they keep repeating the "this". The way they're misunderstanding each other and then in turn understanding half-spoken sentences is just so... them! Imho. Your descriptions are beautiful and you've done a great job showing how they are feeling through their actions. It's subtle and carries strong emotions. One of the finest DA pieces I have read. Thank you for sharing.
servantofclio chapter 1 . 8/12/2013
I missed this before, somehow. It's a lovely take on this romance-I love these characters, and this was a great, natural way for them to reunite.
anesor chapter 1 . 8/11/2013
Oops, a bit late here. With how verbose Fenris is, silences are what it would have to be written in. I like that feeling of the city almost vibrating with the building stresses, like some boil about to burst. The remembered scene of writing in the beach sand was sweet too.

And you know, the couple that broods together, stays together, right? Nice encapsulation.
EkoCentric chapter 1 . 8/6/2013
This story is beautifully done. Thumps up for your own storyline after the quest, it's absolutely brilliant that you didn't all follow everything from the game. I love their dialogues in particular, even when they were all argumentative, it's all fantastic!
LoquaciousQuark chapter 1 . 8/6/2013
Oh, this was wonderful. As Hawke said, sweet and furious, and I love your Fenris. Your twist on the Best Served Cold quest was marvelous, too. Thanks for sharing!
Sesca3 chapter 1 . 8/1/2013
I love your Fenris 3 He's thoughtful, and troubled by his past, but he doesn't lash out super-angrily at everyone & everything. I can really tell he's trying to mentally work through his troubles!
Oleander's One chapter 1 . 7/31/2013
I was ridiculously happy to see that you had written a bit more in the DA-verse! I wish I had the time to play ME, if only to read 'Embers' and one other. Some day.

The reference to Hawke's dwindling family and increasing isolation really got me: "the stupidly big estate with its opulent library and high arches, the rooms emptier and emptier as the days crawled past." Loneliness doesn't get any easier when there is a large empty space in which to contemplate it.

Now, of course, I'm going to wish for this every time I play the game in the future. The game treatment—"You OK, Fenris?" "Yup. Thanks, Hawke"—never quite did it for me. The hesitancy they both show, and the assurances (sometimes repeated) that they both look for, add a wonderful sense of realism without diminishing the intensity of the need and hope and vulnerability—all of the 'high emotions' of falling and being in love. The urgency and longing (spiked with that warm humor) when they finally get "together" is just beautiful. As is the final scene, with them both looking at a difficult future, but each sure that they want to face it alongside the other. Lovely story.

... I really, really want one of Fenris's shirts to wear.
NoMadKa chapter 1 . 7/31/2013
bravo!
