Your (and your Mom's) medical knowledge comes through very clear here. The terminology looks very professional, which is appropriate for the setting. As is the nature! I can imagine this verdant world; I can imagine this universe teems with life if such a lush place is inhabited solely by miners and a mental institution. I kind of want to move there. However, I thought it strange that they just let people wander around the woods. Seems like a good way to get lost.

Daniel finally moving on was well-handled, though I question why Aurora was only romantically interested in him. It was just weird and felt a little rushed, but it was still cute. TBH, I think this would've worked better as its own short story about a man overcoming loss because the aliens don't really play a big part in it. Then again, Noodle and Mary knowing about this was kinda cute - maybe she's the "angel" that talks to Noodle. I like that you imply she was talking to everyone there and helping them out.

I guess Daniel's just living on this backwater planet now. Good for him, but that sounds like a pretty boring life.

And this is neither here nor there, but "Tears in Heaven" is just an awesome title. It could either be the things that come out of your eyes (because it's so sad) or rips (because his life is being torn apart and made into something better). It's a one-in-a-thousand title, and maybe my favorite part (hope that doesn't sound like a backhanded compliment).

Dude I love your stories. I love how you portray the Xenos. Out of the entire Alien movies, yours are some of the best stories I read.

Why do I get the feeling that Noodle's been in on it since the start? He DID point out the forest where Aurora was hiding, after all, and he seems to be FAR more functional than he lets on. Also, Marie obviously saw the Xenomorph. Now the whole things coming together, and I must say: well played. The rest of the story is between the lines.
